    I've been Money Tipped!
I haven't had chance to weigh in yet and I only got weighed Monday so it is going to be a part week :)

I won't update you with my foods over the previous days and although I have eaten a couple of Magnums :o they have been calorie counted and tracked :T I've also been doing loads walking too ....

I think I know why I have been having problems with sw ... I had an Ham and cheese omelette with 2 slices of bread (near enough free on sw) - came in at a whopping 620 cals for breakfast .... had to readjust my day to accommodate ... needless to say I was back to rice krispies this morning :)

Hope everyones weigh in goes ok and will report back later with mine :)

Oh my...I can see my knees...cut off trousers in the wash, so needed to wear a skirt today, first time in about 2 years! I refuse to buy bigger clothes when I've got plenty to wear...if only I could get into them :)

I'd been out and shopped and home by 9 am this morning, in case it's too hot later. My fave chocolate was still much reduced, but didn't buy any...I bought reduced jelly babies instead :o...I've left them in the car, jelly babies are for car trips only :)

Also bought strawberries, and now have squashed strawberry mush in my carpet...don't ask!...now that would never have happened with chocolate, I never drop chocolate :rotfl:

officeguru...lovely tale of little moggie getting a new home, even if she did "behave like a slapper" :rotfl:

financially_gaga...inch deep pizza bases! is that not just a lot of chewing for the bit without all the flavour? It would be interesting to know *why* the americans started supersizing their meals...was it just greed or was there something else behind it?

    Molly...well done :T

    Hi All,

I've been really good this week, thanks the the 4 lb shocker on the first week of the challenge..

I stepped on the wii this morning and I have lost 5 lbs... so to be on the safe side, I am going to declare a -4lb loss as I didn't have anything to eat yesterday and I am sure that I will have put on a lb as soon as I have a meal... if that makes sense...

Well, I am a happy bunny as that takes me closer to my goal... It's still a long way off and I am doing it a stone at a time... I am sure I have shifted about 3 stones since Christmas and none, none of it is going back on !!!!!

Well, I am off out into the garden to do more sewing...

Take care everyone, I'll be back on again soon....

Doh ...started reading all your posts and I forgot why I'd put the computer on!

    I have a 1 lb loss today.

I have never found it so difficult to lose weight as I have this year. I weigh exactly the same as this time last year, before I injured my back again :( I seem to be struggling with the same few pounds all the time, up and down, up and down...

    Morning all

    WI's done up to here.

financially_gaga - as a fellow US traveller here this year...yes the portion sizes are big. I never had a problem with the portions though, me and my friend were overawed by the size of the fast food drinks. Although to be fair we didnt eat out much and most of our intake were carbs or crisps :o If you're reading though...always ask for the small....never the regular or large of ANYTHING.
Still, have a fabulous time (like I did) eat loads (like I also did), enjoy your food (like I always do) and come back and get it all off (like I'm still trying to do) :rotfl:

I am moderately pleased to announce STS for me this week. Actually, it's a loss of half a pound but not sure that can go in the spreadsheet?

daisiegg - Yes it can, and I've added you as a 1/2 pound loss unless you say otherwise!

    As for myself..............

Pleased to report a 2lb loss this morning, And a inch lost off my waist area. :D:D

    m/p:
b - wm sandwich of 2 x turkey rashers with salad, snacky size cheese piece
s - fruit pot if hungry later
l - crackerbread with spread, hazelnut yoghurt [since I'm overdosing on carbs today going to try for a lighter lunch].
d - h/m pasta portion with tomato sauce, salad, probably a little grated cheese.

Oh and FYI....I cant stand cheesecake!! _pale_

    Hi Ellie

Life's not easy.. Especially when so much influences what you eat and how much exercise you take.. I have dieted all my life and it's taken me this long to realise that I can't eat as much as someone else as it puts pounds on.. My betterhalf can eat what he likes ... now I am talking about his jaws never stop from the time he looks in the fridge at tea-time until he goes to bed.. and that doesn't include what he eats at work.. He used to have to climb 300 ft ladders etc so he was very active at his work, but now he drives about in a machine but he doesn't put a pound on..

Life's not fair in that we are surrounded by food and we put pounds on if we are tempted... Because of my illness, I can't eat most fruits or most vegetables but I have now realised that you have to think about a meal plan that you can live with the rest of your life.. For example, I am half Italian and there is no way that I could cut out pasta or cheese on top of the pasta.... I am also Scottish, so there is no way I can cut out potatoes... as I can't really eat anything else... so that's why I say to myself, if I have bread in a day, I don't have pasta or potato and so on...

As you know, I only eat when I am hungry... but I don't mean that I snack... I mean that I miss out meals when I am not hungry and eat a meal when I am.. This is easier said than done as I don't have anyone else in the household to consider and I try not to have anything in the house that I can munch on :A

It's amazing how quickly a pkt of biscuits can vanish into thin air :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

However, I was listening to the radio yesterday, while I was sewing, and there was a doctor on who said that a lot of people were finding it difficult to lose weight because they were eating far too much fruit and it was putting the weight on and that the portion size was the most important thing.. As if we didn't know that already !!! :)

I also have a friend who watches her weight and every time she goes over 2 lbs she stops eating rubbish until it is gone... that way, she never lets her weight get out of control... but that's not me... I could put on more than that in one day if I don't watch it..

Maybe the secret is to stop trying so hard as it becomes an obsession... and the more you try to lose weight, the more you sabotage yourself or others do it for you !!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well, here endeth the lesson... The answer is that it is different for everyone ... but we will get there in the end..

Fruit tends to contain a fair bit of sugar, so I've recently been made aware. So if you can cut sugar and salt from your diet, it might do some good (hence me cutting out crisps completely over the last week and a half) <3

Savesum - DH just made me a little raised bed to which I planted up with rocket and salad leaves. It was from left over wood and was pretty rough.
Interestingly its totally devoid of slugs and snails. I guessed they didn't like the texture. :D
I've tried allsorts to beat the beasties, including waste ground coffee, sand, egg shells, copper. My little masochistic molluscs will trudge through it all. :(

Is there a lettuce that you've grown over the years that you've thought better for taste or texture? I love crunch in salads and am looking to make them more interesting.
I've grown basil, coriander, parsley, peppers and chillis to add flavour to them.
Also a couple of thymes and rosemary for my hot dishes.
Wondering about adding dill and fennel next year.

    Hi

I've weighed in and please to announce a 4lb loss :j

I didn't realise about the fruit until my first day of myfitnesspal and 2 bananas took 3/4 of my sugar allowance  Whilst I don't want to cut all fruit out I will try to have more veggies instead :)

Hope everyone else has a good week

ETA - Does anyone else talk about losing weight a lot? I seem to talk about it all the time and I think some work colleagues are getting fed up of it ... I should have learned my lesson by now and not talk about it but I was bouncing off the wall with a 4lb loss :( Feeling a bit disheartened now with lack of support or maybe I have just said i'm on a diet one too many times?

Must try harder not to talk about weight loss except on here
