This is about weight loss in a sensible way, healthy eating, exercise, etc. It's not about starving yourself, punishing your body, or binge eating....
Just wanted to say very well put TGO/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -
is it a bad thing to feel hungry. when I feel hungry Ilook at it this way....
i know my body is burning the fat and in 45 minutes or sooner the hungry feeling will go away.

Believe that cravings will pass. A craving is similar to a wave in the ocean. It grows in intensity, peaks and then subsides if you do not give in. Picture yourself as a surfer who is trying to "ride the wave," instead of being wiped out by it. The more you practice riding the wave, the easier it will become.
Disarm your cravings with the 5 Ds. Delay at least 10 minutes before you eat so that your action is conscious, not impulsive. Distract yourself by engaging in an activity that requires concentration. Distance yourself from the food. Determine how important it really is for you to eat the craved food and how much you really WANT IT. Decide what amount is reasonable and appropriate, eat it slowly and enjoy!
btw is diet drinks really bad for you? Ill have to do some research..“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

To each their own but this is a Old Style (OS) weight loss thread...it's about going back to basics as far as I understand.“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

Gah. Add one lemming cupcake, which was shoved under my nose and proved irresistible - and after I was so good at lunchtime, too. Consider me suitably shamefaced!
ETA:Ill think that a lot of success in weight loss is physiological as well as eating less.
If you mean psychological then yes, I agree - losing weight definitely needs mental changes as well as physical ones. Now I just need to put that into practice...Back after a very long break!0 -
most people are saying that it's too hot to eat - not me!! I had a salad and half a small crusty roll for lunch and about 20 minutes ago I was really hungry so had the other half with cheese and coleslaw on!
not a binge but I am sorry I gave in and ate it because now I know I won't enjoy my tea as much!
Got some yoghurt before so am going to make the River Cottage "thickie" recipe in the morning - ice, bananas, oats, yoghurt and milk blended - sounds lovely!
I am just watching "Diners Drive ins and Dives" on the Food Network - OMG the food looks incredible!!Jane

Had a 200g of cottage cheese with tsp of curry sandwich spread about 20g of protien which will switch of my hunger signals off for longer than carbs would. Low wwpoints too only contains 4 and a big mug of coffee“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
