    Hello everyone,
Well done to all who have lost. I have to report STS but I did have a Chinese this week and messed up meal times due to 2 late nights at work. I was unprepared so snacked at work and ate tea late. Thanks to ragz for all the hard work.

  • My birthday dress arrived yesterday. I got their biggest size an 18.

It fits-just-but I can hardly breathe in it.

I have 2 weeks to lose a few pounds so it feels more comfortable.

The dress has a 34 inch waist and mine is 32-33-depending on time of day-so not a lot left to breathe in-there is also little give in the fabric.

I could have cried last night.

So have increased exercises and made a detox juice for dinner, detox soup for supper and am just about to have some chicken and rice.

I hope and pray I can whittle my waist down

    Evening All

Well I stayed the same this week even with the sickness bug. However, I had lost weight earlier in the week and woke up this morning with swollen fingers so think it may be a bit of water retention so crossing my fingers it will go again.

B: Muesli with extra sultanas and skimmed milk
    L: Prawn salad wrap.
D: HM celery soup. 3 ryvitas with peanut butter. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.
Snack: 1/2 small bar of dark chocolate. Iced coffee frappe which is laden with calories!

Exercise: 1 hour stability ball class. About 6 miles of mainly walking but with 6 4 minute runs interspersed within it.

I'm reporting a 1lb loss today please ragz. It's actually almost 2lbs, so really pleased to get back on track after last week's Chinese out.

    Thank you DC and lauzt1987.

As my primary motivation is my health rather than my weight I'm hoping I'll be able to stick to this long enough that my carb addiction subsides to a manageable level - has anyone ever managed this? So I've not got a menu as such, I'm eating little and often to try to make sure I don't get hungry and binge as a result (I have a serious carb addiction), This is day 3 for me so I'm making sure I have plenty of salt while my water retention adjusts and I'm having about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil throughout the day in order to exert some extra control over the insulin levels. An ounce of cheese here, some macadamia nuts there etc. not worrying about quantities so much as avoiding the carbs, and a yummy omelette at lunch time with shallot, mushrooms, savoy cabbage, parsley and parmesan. Might have some chicken later with a spinach and cream sauce, in fact, just the thought is making me feel hungry, I'm off to the kitchen LOL.

Hi everyone. I'm going to have to leave you all :(

I had my doctors appointment and was disappointed to hear there was a 3 month waiting list till I could get help. The doctor recommended weightwatchers if I wanted to 'go it alone'. He said as diets go, that is the one he feels will help me learn about portion control and what ingredients individually mean in terms of weight loss - so I can make informed choices when I'm preparing meals.

I'm not happy about having to pay for the help really as I had hoped I could work with a nurse or nutritionist but 3 months of treading water like this is just not an option.

So, as I'm onto weightwatchers I can't stay here :( I hope I can be back when I get to my weight and maintain with you all. I'm really sad I can't join in with you all anymore, you've been a fantastic support and I already have learned so much. x

    Oh dear!
Just as I was feeling very smug about losing a pound yesterday, my dear friend who shares a house with me, came in and threw 2 chunky KitKats into my lap. They are sitting in a drawer, unseen but occupying my mind constantly. I am wondering if I can discreetly get rid of them without her finding out and being hurt. Sigh........

Am just off to buy lots of veg at the Farmers Market with the intention of making loads of veg soup to keep me going this week.

I have lost a lb this week - I feel a bit disappointed, but it's better than nothing!

  • A 1lb loss for me, so quite happy as that takes me to my initial target.

Ragz, can you amend my target to 16lb please? That's working on another 1lb a week until Easter.

Fuddle, I'm not sure what to say, GP's aren't always right and they aren't experts. I did Slimming World and felt that it was something that I "did" for a period of time, and then when I stopped I went back to normal eating so it wasn't sustainable for me. I felt the same about WeightWatchers and like you, I didn't fancy paying.

By following the NHS guidelines (have a look at their website there is loads of info on there), I've managed to eat normally, without buying special foods and in a way that I think I can keep up. I'm calorie counting at the same time (using Mynetdiary) and I find it so much easier than Slimming World as I can tailor each day to suit me.
