  • sparrer, I seem to be following in your footsteps re: spicy things.

Dinner fajitas: prepped the mixture for the quorn with the fajita spice and the spicy cheese and put it in the fridge.
My God....when I microwaved it and started eating it, I was fine...but the aftertaste....I think I hurt something in my throat! :rotfl:

So it had to be thrown out, I couldnt bear to eat anymore and DM doesnt touch spicy food at all. Thank goodness I didnt make much (just enough for 2 fajitas).
So had the rest of my dinner as grated cheese salad wraps instead.

    Whew....... *melts*

Fewww, I have been sooooo hot today, my own fault though as oven on AGAIN! Dd requested an apple pie which I'd agreed to earlier in the week, and a friend at work had asked me to make a beetroot chocolate cake, also spicy chicken for dinner in the oven, but thats it the oven will not go on for the rest of the week, its too hot!

B/l bacon sandwich, scrambled eggs, beans.
    D. Spicy ginger chicken, rice, green beans, salad, riata
    P. apple pie and ice cream mmmmmm

Luckly beetroot/choc cake will (mostly) be going to work tomorrow and out of temptations reach:rotfl:

P.s do you think the cake needs to go in the fridge in this heat as it contains fresh, cooked beetroot? My goodness that cake created so much washing up, never have I used so many bowls fir one cake:eek:

Sparrer - the apple and elderflower cordial is MrA's extra special one, and it's gorgeous!

Ccp - have you tried organic apricots? They're just like toffees :)

SIRENS- I would personally put the beetroot cake in the fridge in this hot weather, as it's a moist cake which will grow spores quickly in the heat.

Usual Sunday food - we're so predictable ;)

    Berry cereal
    Sunday dinner
    Cheese sandwich
Teacake, a few crisps, cupcake (tiny homemade one) 2 or 3 small cubes cheese

Enjoyed seeing Andy Murray win at Wimbledon :T

  • Hi - do you mind if I join in? I did post on this thread about three years ago but got sidetracked and here I am three years later still struggling to lose about 8 stone! To be fair to myself I was bigger then I am now and have managed to get about 5 stone off just by eating less, but I just can't seem to lose any more and I can feel my old ways creeping in again.

I don't get on with WW or SW at all and I do like to cook from scratch and live as OS as possible.

I am fast approaching 50 and have two girls at home with me, both of whom could stand to lose some weight, so I am planning on them eating the same stuff as me ( they are takeaway junkies).

I am trying to eat as much unprocessed food as possible, but it is difficult to cut out bread (which I love) and carbs in general - I make cupcakes as a little sideline and that is really hard - I always end up tasting stuff and then eating some of the cakes!!

So I have decided that I will start tomorrow. I have made a meal plan for the week which is healthy - it's just sticking to it!!

Can I ask what the under 700 cals list is?
I am looking forward to reading through the thread!

    Hi RS, welcome back :)

The under 700 cal menu is part of the menu at Greene King pub/restaurants, there are about 6 or 7 meals which are very filling for a main meal. hth

Oh that's good to know - there is a Greene King pub at the end of my road!

Have made a start this morning and had a small bowl of Aldi branflakes, which were surprisingly okay with a few raisins thrown in! I am just off to meet a friend for coffee, but will resist having anything to eat!

Lunch today is leftover beef salad, and dinner is roast chicken, new potatoes and vegetables. I don't have any sweet stuff or "afters" type stuff in at all so that should help as there is only fruit if we want anything!

hope you all have a good day!

Morning all, and particularly RS! :hello:

    My plan for today:

B - three rye crispbreads with a small quantity (1tsp per slice) of peanut butter and a sliced banana
L - four falafel, mixed salad, peach, LF apricot yoghurt (I will eat this flippin' yoghurt eventually! :o)
D - aubergine gratin (probably made with - horror of OS horrors - a jar of RM sauce, as I don't feel like chopping and simmering my own in this heat); LO tzatziki; slice or two of HM bread (no butter) to mop up the sauce

MrsCD - no, I haven't tried the apricots: thanks for the tip, I'll look those out. :)
Back after a very long break!
