Off to the theatre tonight and we don't think we will have time to have a sit down meal anywhere before the play so we are planning to grab something. Will do my best to make sure it is not a macdonalds! :eek:0 -
daisie - what play are you seeing?
went out to see World War Z with DM today, expected it to be more of a disaster movie than it was (I do love that genre!). Needless to say we are both complete wimps, viewing 80% normally and 20% between fingers :rotfl:
Had to do a ton of online banking before we went out though - bank account is looking healthy again after recent splurges, lol.

Day off for me today, so caught up on the mopping and cleaning, then spent an hour plugging all the little holes in the kitchen with bubble wrap and cardboard after our 2 kittens went missing for 5 hours. We thought they had developed mystical powers after the vanished within seconds, turned out they had squeezed through a tiny whole between the cupboards:eek: not used to this kitten business as poor old chubby basset wouldn't have stood a chance of getting one of her ears through there let alone any other part:rotfl: so hoping we are now kitten proof, only had them a week! Still hopefully problem solved and kittens now just have to avoid eager stroking by the kids!
B. 2 slice seedy bread and nutella!
L. Ham and cottage cheese salad, l/f crisp
D. Hm veg pizza and salad, 2 lindor choc balls
S. 2 hot cross buns.
Not so good today and off for my vascular check up tomorrowso hoping i've not gained any weight else nurse will tell me off!'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

SIRENS - glad your amazing vanishing kittens are OK!
Change of plan for dinner this evening as my appetite is still awol - I'll have a wholemeal pitta bread stuffed with a small amount of peanut butter and a mini banana. I do hope my appetite comes back soon.
Have a great time tonight, daisiegg.Back after a very long break!0 -
Sirens, glad you found out where the kittens were going, it's amazing the small spaces cats can get through...we used to have a big boy cat (not fat, just big) and I was surprised the small places he could get, though he only did it when no-one was looking...so it was just "how did he get THERE?"
I think the theory is a cat knows if it's whiskers don't touch the edges, it can get through...though I'm sure they sometimes just bend the whiskers and push through anyway!
CCP, where has your appetite gone? You can borrow mine for a while, I could quite happily eat double what I'm having
Today
B: cornflakes, sultanas, ss milk
L: cheese and pickle toastycheese omelette and micro chips, choc mousse
E: none really, just pottering around the house
Not so good today, too cheesy! I'm very impressed with those of you who have the days menu planned in the morning...on days when I'm eating alone, like today, I often have no idea what I'll have until I'm standing in the kitchen at dinner time...and then I want something quick and easy...and cheesy!
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Popping in to add to my mealplan:
s - handful of salted peanutsI'm very impressed with those of you who have the days menu planned in the morning...
I dont know if thats directed at me in any way? :rotfl:
I always know what I'm having for breakfast when I post because I usually eat sitting on the sofa with the laptop on my lap! Dinner is usually preplanned because of my portioning. I always seem to find lunch a struggle though...I've started down a path where if I have toast in the morning I refuse a sandwich at lunch. And if I've had cereal/cereal bar in the morning, then I can have a sandwich for lunch.
If I do the latter, normally its ok. If I do the former...I panic blindly and raid all cupboards trying to come up with an appropriate combination! :A
I also have a weird observation to make. More recently I've discovered the juice drink O@sis. I know its been around for yonks, but I started drinking a mini bottle of it here and there...and now I seem to have become obsessed with it. For someone who openly admits to having to have a cup of diet coke very first thing (it's like tea to me) to wake up, this is odd.
Not that I go overboard with diet coke, but I would say for me, intertwined with water, tea and other juice drinks, I probably inhale 2 glasses/1 glass + 1 500ml bottle per day. I have been drinking more water over the last few months though so it all balances out.
Back to the observation I made. I first noticed it on Tuesday night when I was running up a flight of stairs at the train station, in order to make the train sitting on the platform, it was that I felt strangely "light" on my feet. Not like weightless, but like I could move easier.
Of course I ignored it, thinking I must be having some sort of headrush....but then last night I had to do the same thing at a different station, up a flight of stairs to make a bus, and I had the same sensation.
I can only assume it must be down to not drinking as much fizzy stuff and going onto more juice drinks as described ^^. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
In any case....hopefully tomorrow morning the scales will tell me if I'm going bonkers or not! :rotfl:0 -
Thanks, CCP, we did have a nice time
theatregirl - we went to see The Mousetrap. Tickets weren't that expensive and we figured if it's been running for so long it can't be terrible. It was enjoyable - I am a bit of a theatre snob (having an English and Drama degree!) and I didn't rate it enormously highly but for a weekday evening out it was fun enough. There were lots of tourist and people with kids who were quite annoying but we bit our tongues!
Unfortunately I have to report the first STSI am upset because I have been doing sneaky weighs all week and most of the week I was down 2lbs. I think it proves that I just can't do it without counting calories. I have a subscription to Nutracheck so I am just going to have to do it properly.
Anyway, yesterday's food:
B - cereal and tea
S - apple
L - leftover ratatouille pasta, a few too many squares dark chocolate
D - popped into a really nice Mexican opposite the theatre and I had pork tacos (soft tortillas, not deep fried!) - they were tiny, no cheese or sour cream or anything and though they came with rice I didn't eat it.
Over the evening - 3 glasses of prosecco:o:eek::eek: an iced bun (200 cals) on the train home as was really hungry after such a small dinner.
I forgot about that chocolate at lunchtime. OOPS. It is gone now, though.
I NEED some motivation!!! I will count calories next week and see if it makes a difference. This is just not good. My work trousers are a bit tight and I don't feel nice in anythingso why doesn't that motivate me enough?!
Anyway - best of luck everyone else for the weigh in, hope you do better than me! :rotfl:0 -
theatregirl, I can't really comment on your weightless feeling! I don't drink many fizzy drinks at all and tend to just drink water or tea (and wine!). I hope the scales show today that you feel weightless because you've lost loads of weight!0
