You may be right OG...I've always made a point of having the meal together so they can talk about their day...now they're adults so we can be more flexible. On the odd occasion I've not eaten with them, they question me "where's yours, why are you not eating?" So I eat, but just have a small portion if I'm not hungry.
Of course, I could make myself something different, but I don't like cooking, It's a necessary evil...when I win the lottery I'm going to buy packs of ready cut up vegetables :rotfl:

Hello x
Long time no see!!
Really trying - think I am beginning to get back on track - finally x
I have lost 2lbs over the past couple of weeks. As i am mostly asleep in bed I am quite pleased as I have estimated that my BMR is very low - just over 1,000 calories. So hardly any leeway really.
Anyway hope you all have a good weekend. Hope we can pop out to garden centre later xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hello all
Not much point posting what I'm going to have and how pleased I am with myself - this time tomorrow I'll be at the airport chewing my nails off over a nearly 8 hour flight. I hope nails dont have any calories! :rotfl:
On top of which it is NY so I will be eating massive portions, unless the restos over there let us divide between 2 plates!
Anyhoo, will keep this brief as I have to run off and finish packing, take a shower, tidy up etc.See you all in a week! xx

Hi All,
I've been working in the garden again... I don't have much choice as I have to do it in a clockwork fashion... where I go around and around so that I can keep everything in check.. I was busy tying up plants in the big border yesterday... I was supposed to get a hand as the big pots are incredibly heavy... but he obviously had to wash the car and then polish the car and then wash his motorbike and then polish the motorbike...it was really hard for him... He had totally forgotten he was supposed to help me... but never mind... He said he would give me a hand today...
Well, I managed to plant up around 25 plants.. It took a while as I had to find homes for my daffodil bulbs for next spring...He came to give me a hand and promptly knocked over my little wooden wheelbarrow that was stuffed with daffodil bulbs so he had to try and tidy them up...
It must have took him 2 hours and it looked like a dog's dinner by the time he had finished... The reason it took him so long, he kept vanishing... I think the Monaco Grand Prix had something to do with it ...
He was going to brush up the earth that I had spilled on the driveway but he couldn't find the brush... It was against the wall, but obviously invisible to him... so I brushed it up myself... I then had to put the pots/containers into their positions... and then had to make the tea... I asked him if he could help me with that... I only wanted him to do some breadcrumbs for me... but he just keeps vanishing... but never mind... I did it myself.. as usual... Tomorrow, I'll have to go back to tying up plants as I am trying to get it done before it rains again...
Food wise... I had a cauliflower that needed seen to so I made soup with it... I stuffed a couple of peppers... boiled some new potatoes... cooked some spinach I picked up and that's going to get frozen... so I am off now to watch the tv...
I hope everyone is well... and catch up with you all again soon... :beer:0 -
Sorry so late and sorry to have to report 1lb gain :-(
Will do better next week!0 -
Another lovely day with lots more pottering in the garden
B: cornflakes, ss milk, sultanas
L: 2 slices toast (the end bits no-one else wants - I need a smiley playing the violin :rotfl:)takeaway - 6 inch pizza and chips
I succumbed to the "it's the weekend, have a treat" syndrome.
We had visitors late afternoon, who were going on elsewhere to eat (so didn't cook early), and they had just left, when my parents (who always eat at 5pm sharp) turned up to visit...so they'd eaten and we hadn't. So by the time they left I was s t a r v i n g!
And thought PIZZA! Oops...will behave tomorrow.

Aargghhh!!! what were we saying about mothers?
Mine has turned up this morning with a pack of 4 large puff pastry mince pies, a bargain, reduced to 30p. I love these, but nobody else in the family likes them, so I would have to eat them all myself.
I've only just rediscovered my motivation, and weekends are the hardest part of the week...I thought of you, officeguru, and the doughnuts, and I said No. She tried her best...oh go on, you like them...they won't do you any harm...they're a bargain!...you can eat one a day for 4 days (yeah right, over 50 years and she still doesn't understand I can't do that :rotfl:)
So she had to take them home with her. And her parting shot before she left...this slim little woman says "my weight's holding steady just now, if I could lose a pound and a half I'd be happy!"
A pound and a half!...she has no idea how hard I'm finding it to lose about 3 stone :rotfl:
Well done on resisting. My mum was just the same, I would tell her that I was on a diet (again, lol!), and she would start offering me cakes, biscuits etc., saying 'one won't hurt' and 'start the diet tomorrow'! It was so infuriating, especially as she was so skinny from hardly eating anything, and she had the cheek to keep saying that I shouldn't lose too much weight and end up like my nan, who was about 6 stone towards the end of her life (like I could ever weigh that little, lol!), and ironically my mum ended up weighing even less by the time she died.
Well despite the maccy d on Thursday, I've managed to shift another 2lbs this week! Went to MIL's for lunch today, had chicken roast which wasn't too bad, but then had chocolate gateau with cream, and then had a piece of chocolate cake, oops!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs
