    Aargghhh!!! what were we saying about mothers?

    Mine has turned up this morning with a pack of 4 large puff pastry mince pies, a bargain, reduced to 30p. I love these, but nobody else in the family likes them, so I would have to eat them all myself.
    I've only just rediscovered my motivation, and weekends are the hardest part of the week...I thought of you, officeguru, and the doughnuts, and I said No. She tried her best...oh go on, you like them...they won't do you any harm...they're a bargain!...you can eat one a day for 4 days (yeah right, over 50 years and she still doesn't understand I can't do that :rotfl:)

    So she had to take them home with her. And her parting shot before she left...this slim little woman says "my weight's holding steady just now, if I could lose a pound and a half I'd be happy!"

    A pound and a half!...she has no idea how hard I'm finding it to lose about 3 stone :rotfl:

    Afternoon all

    Quick post before I go pop lunch in the oven :D

    About two hours after breakfast, I went into the kitchen to this burning smell....very odd as the lady next door had said to my DM yesterday that she'd been able to smell burning in her place as well.
    So me and DM are in the kitchen, trying to think what it could be - well I glanced across at the gas hob and realised I'd left the gas on from cooking baked beans this morning!! :eek:

    Anyway, we're still alive over here. Lol.

    So breakfast was beans on 2 small slices wm toast with a little grated cheese on top.
    Lunch will be a breaded piece of fish (y/s), l/o chips & onion rings, slice of wm bread.
    Dinner (after work) will be hm stirfry.
    Snacks - aero yoghurt x 2, pear, 2 x chocolate digestives. :o

    Hello All :wave:
    Well have not been my best this week but have been busy cleaning house as we have a spot of a mouse problem:eek:

    Was horrified to be confronted by one from beneath the microwave on thursday, not sure what to do, have put some traps down and am franticly locking all food stuffs in tuppaware, and covering the house in peppermint!! Have never had this before, but this is the first time we have been dogless in years. Might have to find myself a kitty?

    Any hoo sorry for the tangent have had a 1lb loss this week.

    Hope everyone's enjoying the good weather :)

    Todays menu

    B: cornflakes, ss milk, sultanas
    L: 1 and 1/2 slices of wm, toasted
    S: mars mini ice cream bar (74 calories, and VERY nice)
    D: 3 sausages, in 2 rolls

    Exercise; lots of pottering in the garden, doing pots etc. Not very energetic, but better than sitting still.

    Do any of you who live with other family members ever find yourselves eating things you wouldn't choose for yourselves?
    Because I buy food for 3, and sometimes they're not in at mealtimes, or they are in but want something I wouldn't pick, I end up eating things I wouldn't normally. Like tonight, I wouldn't choose rolls and sausages, but I didn't want to waste them, trying to save money! My boys also like much more meat than I do, so sometimes I have the same as them just without the meat, which maybe looks odd!
    Over the years, even when I've been dieting, I've always eaten my evening meal with them - I didn't want them to think it was normal to miss meals...but I have to say that sometimes that means I'm eating when I'm not hungry. I'm not saying I want them to leave home :), but having family around is definitely affecting what I eat a little bit.

    Hi Ellie, Well done in winning the war with the mince pies :beer:

    I don't have family living with me any more but I was always cooking and used to see food as a very social thing.. and I tended to cook what other members in the family liked so I do sympathise with you... I find that now I am a bit more selfish, I have more control over what and when I eat... Though last week was a bit of a disaster !!! :( I think if you are not hungry, is there any way you could tell a little white lie... in that you have eaten already ??? or that you had been picking at the food while it was cooking so you weren't as hungry as them and that you would have your cup of coffee (or whatever) while they are eating their meal ????

    It's been a beautiful day and I have been working in the garden... I actually dragged the hammock out of the back of the shed... put it up ... and then got visitors, so I still haven't been on it yet ... but tomorrow is another day !!!! :j:j:j

    Well the best laid plans etc., etc.... I have put the 1lb back on that I'd lost at the beginning of the week so have officially STS :(

    It's been absolutely manic today at work. I think the first day of half term means that everyone needs to get outside for some fresh air, so they all come to us! :) Anyway we all survived but it was late when we all got away after leaving everything ready for the next wave tomorrow.

    Food wise -
    B - muesli, a spoonful of Greek yog - it gets me through until whatever time I eventually get a break
    L - cheese scone and a banana
    D - leftover stew and 2 slices bread as I was starving
    S - meringue nest, fruit yog and a handful of rasps/blueberries
    Don't know how many calories but don't think it's too bad.

    Lined trousers = 6 coupons ...total 9/66 used
    2 t-shirts = 8 coupons
    Trousers = 6 coupons ... total 23/66
    2 cardigans = 10 coupons
    Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 38/66
    Nightie = 6 coupons
    Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 49/66

    Morning all!
    Not too bad a day yesterday apart from the big glass of wine in the evening.
    I've decided to try to eat as I would in work during half term and have only a breakfast biscuit and lots of fruit for lunch during the day and then a proper meal in the evening. The holidays usually go a bit wrong as I have a lot more time on my hands so instead I'm going to use the time to do more exercise and work on my appearance a bit.

    So, today's lunch will be a banana, 2 satsumas, an apple and maybe a veg curry with pitta bread for tea.
    I'm starting on a stomach crunch campaign too - its quite flat but could do with being a bit more toned. The thighs are a different matter though - think liposuction is the only answer - will get the hoover out later :rotfl::rotfl:
    Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!
