Catching up on all your posts over the weekend, well done to everyone who lost or sts. :TAm looking into getting an air walker - has anyone tried them? If so was it successful?
Glad you enjoyed your holiday sparrer, hope you didn't have the haggis/shortbread/cake all on the same plate
I bought what I think was called an air walker from q v c a couple of years ago, it had a big base, and two big foot plates which pushed against air to make walking harder, you could alter the pressure. I thought it would be good for when the weather was too wet or slippy to walk outside. Unfortunately I found it made my sore hip worse, and it's now confined to the garage, so wasted purchase really. It doesn't sound like the ski-ing one though.financially_gaga wrote: »Right, let's get the dodgy bits out of the way first..
AWFUL AWFUL eating over the weekend (let's see if anyone can beat this)
Saturday:
B: Coffee, satsuma
S: 1 twix finger
L: 99 cone with choc and nuts and flake
S: Huge slice of chocolate cake1/2 Pizza, half chips and 2 spoons of coleslaw
I don't know if my menu beats yours, if not, it comes a close second!
B: cornflakes, ss milk, sultanas
S: little chocolate mousse
L: whole tin of rice pudding with sultanas on topfish and chip supper
nothing green or vegetabley at all...was also tempted to buy chocolate but didn't (that is the ONLY good thing I can say about this weekend)

So...I was moaning last week that I'd lost all my motivation... I don't know where it went but perhaps it took its little suitcase to Oban or Milan?
I'm pleased to report that it has now returned, thanks to 2 little things over the weekend.
The main thing was I was out at a local pub on Saturday night to see a band playing, a really fun night, half the bar up dancing...there was a group of girls dancing, and I watched them and remembered when I was young and fit and shapely like they were. They were dressed the same as I like to...low jeans, big belt, vest top...except now I need to cover it up with a shirt because of the giant Michelin tyre round my middle (anyone remember the Michelin man?) Now I'm not aiming to look like a 20 year old again, but I can look a lot better than I do now.
The second thing was I was driving home today, quite a distance from home, when I drove by a guy I thought was my ex. I'm not certain because he had his back to me, and I was driving, and I didn't want to turn round and have a proper look because then he would see me, but I think it was him. It was in a place I think of as *mine*, not somewhere he would normally be. I usually think I'll never see him again, but if there's a chance I will, I want to look good! I've put on a fair bit of weight since the break up. I know it's vain, and I'd never want the lying so-and-so back, but I still need to look good...and I'm not even going to start thinking about *why* I'm being vain if it succeeds in making me diet
So tomorrow, I weigh in and start again.

Morning all.
Very early post for me lol - fell asleep on the sofa after a relatively good day of eating everything on the mealplan....and then ruined it with a whole bar of chocolateAnd I do mean a whole bar, not just one of those piddly individual bars....
Oh well. Back to today. Off to see Iron Man 3 (at last) so breakfast will be light in lieu of whats going to be consumed at the cinema.
So breakfast = cereal and lunch will be a sausage roll, plus some pasta off the salad bar from Mr W. Will also get some popcorn and a (free) bottle of Sprite
Dinner will be h/m quorn chicken risotto with salad and 1/2 a plain bagel.
So trying to be good considering I know I'm going out!0 -
Hi All,
Theatregirl - I hope you enjoy the film and have a good day...
Not a lot has happened since yesterday except that I was sorting out the freezer and found my favourite ice-cream with white chocolate through it... I tried to be brave.... even while I was eating it... I usually leave half for beloved but yes, I ate the lot !!! I would have to say that I enjoyed every mouthful... even the little white chocolate polar bears.. I suffered later on as I am sure that my sugar levels went through the roof !!
But today is another day.... and as the song says, 'yesterday has gone..' so back to the new routine... Tonight I am having spare ribs with new potatoes and peas... followed by strawberries (and cream for beloved)...
So I am off to work in the garden...
Have a nice day...0 -

Weighed myself this morning...I've put on a pound over the weekend, that means I've lost nothing at all on this challenge
But as you say, today is another day...3 days left to get back to last Fridays weight, and then downwards from there...can't get to the end of June with nothing to show for my efforts.
Oh, and the sun is shining...AT LAST!

I've decided to post my menus for a while in the hope that I won't want to post too many bad things. So today -
B: cornflakes, semi skimmed milk, sultanas
L: scone with jam
S: scone with cheeseSmall lasagne (about 200 cals) with lots of veg. It was actually nice to have some different coloured foods, my meals the last few days looked like the before table of one of those tv diet shows!
I know scones weren't the best choice, but they needed eaten up, I couldn't throw them away, not money saving!
Exercise: not much as still have a sore back, but a little bit of housework, and 40 minutes cleaning the bathroom...what is it with the male species that they can't keep a bathroom clean? Dirty splashes all over the place, and the hairs...it's a wonder they're not bald all over! :rotfl:
sparrer...there's a programme on BBC 2 at 9pm..."discover the treasures of Oban", I think I'll watch it, I haven't been there since I was a kid...in those carefree times when it was always sunny and we were allowed out with no adults
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
Ellie the machine you describe is called a cross trainer, I think. An air walkers footplates just go back and forward in a swing motion, no pressure needed. I've done enough walking today not to need one for now, at least! Thanks, I've just watched the Oban programme on 2, it's all so familiar it's like I haven't left yet
I went to Devon last Autumn to visit my ex (we stay friends) and I know I look a lot better than I did the previous time I saw him
B - F&F, ss milk
D - steak of which I could only eat half as it was so gristly. Had to send DD's back and the second one wasn't any better. 2 onion rings, 1/2 tomato and a few floury chips. I left the mound of peas they filled the plate up with. We won't be going back!
T - prawn salad, apple
S - fruit
E - DD and I had a shopping spree, came back with 8 carrier bags. Need I say more?!
I brought some tablet home from Oban and took it for DGD2. I tried a piece when I was there but it's far too sweet for me, like eating a square of sugar. I have got a box of shortbread though, I'll treat myself to a piece on Sundays0 -
Very quiet on here today!
Cinema yesterday was brilliant although I subbed the popcorn for chocolate...:o but I had salad instead of pasta off the deli bar thing.
Dinner last night was risotto plus a bagel with spread.
Today so far - had 3 rashers bacon & 2 mushrooms, slice wm bread for breakfast.
Snack - fruit pot.
Lunch was onion rings + 3 fishfingers + 1 waffle.
Dinner will be hm stirfry
A lot of odd and maybe not weightwatching stuff going on here, because I'm trying to be MSE and using up what we have in and mealplanning totally around that.
Very pleased Mother Nature paid me a visit this morning (tmi?) as now I dont have to worry about it while I'm away! :j0
