    Hey everyone,

Sorry I have been MIA for a bit. I was on holiday last week and had a brilliant completely non diet time (including a personal chef on our few days away!) and then work has been manic this week which makes me less motivated food wise as I just eat whatever to get me through work. Hopefully things will ease up at work soon and I can get back to concentrating on eating sensibly. There are only so many things I can do at once and healthy eating seems to be the thing that goes first.

Good luck to everyone else though! I will try to get back to it soon, promise!

    Hi All,

I am back !!!! I had a great time in Milan... :j:j:j while my beloved and my son went to watch the superbikes ... I wasn't sure how I would manage with my health problems as I was no longer in control of the cooking but I shouldn't have worried... My cousin's wife has diverticulitis and also a thyroid problem as well as several others so she didn't mind that I had to watch what I ate..

Anyway, I had already decided not to eat until Dinner at night.. The reason being that I didn't know where any toilets were and I didn't want to get caught out.. so I just had coffee (I find the Italian coffee a tad strong for me but I didn't want to offend.. and although I said I liked plenty of milk, I never got any ...:( My relations did everything possible to make our stay absolutely wonderful and it was... :T I enjoyed practising my Italian (ropey though it was) as Anna could speak 6 languages... I also walked a bit about Milan and visited the surrounding areas but I was a bit anxious being out of my comfort zone..

My biggest fear before I left was that the seatbelt on the plane wouldn't go round me... but, guess what ??? It did :j:j but I could safely say, that wouldn't have happened at Christmas time.. I also had to buy a couple of belts as my clothes were too loose and they were liable to slip down to my ankles... Anyway, Beloved had to put a couple of notches in the end of the belts so that I could fasten the buckles... but when I put them on again before i put them back in the wardrobe, I was able to get them on using the 3rd notch from the end (instead of the last one ) :)

I know I have been steadily losing weight as I am sitting here wearing a jumper that fits me well (not snuggly) and I was never able to fit into it before (an impulse buy) ... The jeans that I am always referring to are now fitting me except just a bit nippet on the waist band... but the zip goes up and I can sit down in them... in a few weeks time they should be quite comfortable... :A

I don't know what 'll weigh on Friday, as I bought new scales before I went away and my friend (who is a thin lady) has never varied in weight all her life says that they are weighing her about 6 lbs too heavy... and as I am about twice her weight, I shudder to think what I will come in at... but never fear, I'll dig out the wii again, if necessary.... :T
It's nice to be back on the forum and I have decided that my next goal is to get out of plus size clothes and go into 'normal' sizes, so that is going to be my focus in the coming months... I have also found that food is slowly becoming less important in my life... It is not the be all and end all of everything... Mark you, my neighbour brought over a coconut cake for the chooks and there isn't much left to go down to the bottom of the garden...

Well, I look forward to reading all your posts and getting back into the groove so take care,
  • Well done office guru, that post makes fantactic reading :T:T

You should be very proud - and best of luck for the rest of your journey :j

Well done officeguru those changes will keep you motivated :)

I finally weighed myself and im 10st exactly but this is on my friends scales and i think they have always weighed a tad light compared to my old scales but as they are the only ones i now have ill just take my readings from these!!

I have had an awful couple of days food and helth wise!! Ive been feeling really run down last couple of weeks and unable to shake a cold :( then i was up all night Tues night coughing so went to the docs yesterday and ive got bronchitis!! Hoping the antibicotics kick in soon and i feel better so i can get on with being heathly!

Some of yesterdays sins were a mint areo and mini fish and chips  good news is that my coughing has made me stop smoking :) (for now  well hopefully for good its such a stupid habit!)

Today im off work today due to feeling proper exhausted so am trying to still eat as well as i can

B: Museli, s/s milk, 2 wholemeal toast with marg
L: cheese and branston sandwich, packet of A*da onion ring crisps

Hmm maybe not that great afterall no fruit and loads of carbs:eek:

    Must keep trying

Morning well after a week of grabbing whatever food wherever I can (and most of it comfort and not that healthy) I have STS I am not overjoyed with this but better than gaining as I have been recently!

I asked for vegetarian options this week, I have never had so much mayonnaise and creamy fillings in sandwiches in my life! Checking out some of the nutritional info and there were 500 calories in one sandwich! Wont be making that mistake again!

So this week I have a series of meetings where I am supposed to have lunch I have spoken to / emailed everyone asking for a simple salad no bread please so we shall see if they take any notice. I also have several entertainment dinners so have asked for fish with no sauces or very limited sauces and lots of vegetables.

Some people were quite helpful and some were down right rude. One particular harumphing individual actually snorted, looked at me and said "trust you to be difficult it's not like you are vastly obese" :o

Ok so I am not the largest person for my stature, but surely if you offer people food options and they ask for a salad this is not the be all and end all?

Any way I have also told DH that no more get home and open the cider, he can make me a glass of squash - bought some low sugar ones and some fizzy water to make it a bit more special.

It's cold and horrid again here, I am beginning to regret putting my winter clothes away - had to dig our a scarf this week again was far too cold to survive without it! Thought I might shiver a bit of flab off, but no I just got hungry and decided I could justify the chocolate brownie (It wasn't even that nice) which I could not. ;)

Hope this week is kind to you all and you all continue to win in this battle!

  • Morning all

Have been MIA again due to a variety of things happening this week, and also to see if I could get along without being glued to the Internet! Instead glued myself to the TV and have caught up with a backlog of films and TV shows that I just dont normally have the time to watch. However I havent just been lazy and on my @$$, have been out a fair bit as well, and will be out the next two days for work.

Speaking of which, I emailed the venue yesterday where I had my interview on the 7th as they still havent got back to me with an outcome. Still no answer, I will give them until next Friday and then try and find a phone number. I dont like chasing them but I feel that I have to so I can move on from it. Largely suspect I didnt get the job but would like it confirmed!

Anyhoo, will be posting the next week just to solidify my eating plan, need to be REALLY strict and use up whats in the fridge and freezer as I'm away in NY from the 27th for a week :D So all veg, fruit, freezer stuff, I want to use it all up so I can start fresh when I come back! I think I'm going to put on loads of weight when I'm there :rotfl:
Planning some more decorating next week and some gardening as I'm off work (another downtime period), nothing much, just a bit of sprucing up.

Oh, and I have STSed this morning :T

    Hi All

Savesummore, I hope you are fine for the weekend ... You'll maybe get better once we finally say good-bye to winter !:)

Welshwoofer, Thanks for your comments and I hope you are keeping well....

    Missrir
, Hi, I can see that it is difficult for you when you have so much food to try and work around.. I'm glad that you get some food 'options' so that you can try and limit the damage... :( I'm also freezing but I am hanged if I am going to switch the central heating on again before October... The hot water bottles are starting to look inviting again... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Deleted_User
, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you... and not long before you go to NY !!! :j

Anyway, good luck to all for the weigh-in... and I hope you all have a lovely weekend... The sun is shining in the garden so I better get some work done while I get the chance... and when I got on the wii this morning, it said that I had lost 1 lb. I am pleased about that... although I feel that it is the inches I am losing that is motivating me, rather than the weight.... as I am sure if I shifted the wii thingy around the living-room and into the hall, I would be able to record a greater loss !!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

But I am determined not to become obsessed with weighing myself... Well, bye for now, I'm off to the chooks... :)

Well...it's good that you're not vastly obese, but HOW RUDE!!!
I don't know why people think they should give unasked opinions on what other people eat. Well done to you for taking action in advance to try and eat healthily. :T

I really feel for you having to wait to hear the outcome. I know employers can have lots of applications and might not want to reply to everyone, but I don't think they realise just how much hope and expectation people can have when looking for a job. I know what it's like to be totally ignored when I've taken the time to send in an application, it's not nice at all.
And you're right - when you attended for an interview, you definitely deserve to be told, good news or not. Fingers crossed for you.

I have also STS this week, which I am grateful for. I had no "nice things" left in the house for other family members packed lunches, so I made biscuits and chocolate buns. I have learnt there's a reason I shouldn't have these things in the house...have become addicted to chocolate buns (it's the butter icing :o)
I'm finding it very hard to remember why I started this, I feel like I'm getting nowhere. Next week, guys, next week...

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?
