Today I intend to do a Wii Zumba workout......I find this good fun but it does get the heart pumping!:D

    Today's meal plan is:

Breakfast: branflakes with semi skim milk, melon
Lunch : whole meal sandwich with ham, salad (if I've got any :rotfl:) & cucumber. Banana, 2 satsumas.
Dinner: turkey roast dinner & veg - new pots rather than mash & maybe just one roast pot;)
Snacks: maybe a slice of fruit tea loaf

Did well yesterday:j - managed to stick to my plan (pretty much) - had to have mash not new potatoes as DH cooked & he didn't do new potatoes:(. I didn't have any fruit loaf though:T

I also did my Zumba on the Wii.....it's a fun workout that I do actually enjoy!

    Today's plan:

B - porridge, glass of OJ
L - beans on toast (whole meal bread), banana, 2 satsumas
D - garlic chicken, jacket pot & salad
Snacks : grapes, melon, slice of tea loaf

Plan to go running tonight.....am going to try & do something every day.....even if it's just 10 mins on the Wii fit:rotfl: I have already got used to having no sugar in my tea......so that's around 4-6 tea spoons if sugar I'm not consuming every day:j

Morning everyone :) hope we all had lovely weekends. Mine was brilliant but not good diet wise haha. We went to london zoo on saturday (we got married at edinburgh zoo last year so felt in keeping to go to a zoo to celebrate our anniversary) and had chips for lunch there, then to a comedy gig in the evening before going for mexican for dinner. Then yesterday we went for chocoholics afternoon tea! So good :)

Must get back to being good today though. So had a slice of toast with jam for breakfast and have leftover vegetable stew for lunch with melon and a strawberry fruit bar.

Please forgive me, for I have sinned...

Been away for a few days, and I don't know what happens, but it's like when I get so many miles away from home the "diet" bit of my brain gets switched off. I tried, honest, I did...I took healthy food with me...and I brought it all home again!
My friend had lots of food out, all of it the fattening stuff, like little sausage rolls, scones, crisps, bacon butties...the only thing I can say is I refused more than I ate!
And I have no excuses for the pizza and wine in the evening...but oh, it was good :) (also got a big hug from a handsome barman half my age, all in all a good night out :rotfl:)

But the bit of the weekend I'm ashamed of is when I got home yesterday...didn't want to start cooking for family again and took the easy option of takeaway (pizza again:eek:) and just went right back to "eat although you're already full" mode. Why would I do that??? I try so hard to only eat when I'm hungry, why do I have days when I just want to eat?
I was so determined to keep eating until the weekend was over that when I went to bed I took coffee and a sort of cheap little mars bar copy cat thingy with me...and I looked at it and thought "what about the no chocolate bars rule?" and then I ate it anyway. So I managed 3 and a half months before I gave in, a very bad dieting day :(

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?
  • Dear all,

Hope everyone made the most of the sunshine over the weekend. We had a bit of a mixed day weather wise, sunny intervals and quite a cold wind. Took the kids out on their bikes so had to walk fast to keep up with them! :j

Not that bad food wise either - but had unexpected guests  on sat lunchtime so the improvised lunch wasn't as healthy as a planned one could have been! Only major blip over weekend was a banana nut muffin on saturday (450kcal ) which is about 45 mins of sweat at the gym but apart from that not bad. Even managed to take the kids out on sunday evening without making too many bad choices

What do you guys eat if you have to go out for meals with work? I have 3 leaving do's coming up over the next 2 weeks and i must go but don't want to blow the diet?

    Food today:

    B - Skinny latte, grapes
    S - Large banana
L - tuna sandwich on brown, 99 kcal crisps
S - apple or 'llama baked bites' (no idea what these are but 6 bags for £1 in tesco and only 100 kcal :rotfl:)
    D - Quorn mince and 1 toast
S - whichever is left - the llama bites or the apple!

Exercise - swimming this evening - aiming for 20 lengths after my dismal 12 last week! Any tips on improving swimming techniques?

Have a great day everyone! :A

Ellie, we all have days like this! Can you distract yourself instead? My most vulnerable part of the day is when everyone is bed and i'm awake alone - i have discovered the kids PS3 and its a great distraction for me - good end to the day for me although i understand not everyone's cup of tea :rotfl:

Anything you could use as a distraction?

I don't have work do's, but if I'm eating out with friends I often have salad (but probably ruin the calorie count because I have some chips with it!)...also getting much better at refusing dessert and just having one course. I accept that it will be a bigger meal than at home and cut down what I eat the rest of the day to compensate.
I've heard people suggest having a starter and sweet instead of a main course, but never tried that myself.

I'm in no position to be suggesting things after my dismal dieting weekend, but I've noticed that the people I'm with really aren't that interested in what I'M eating, if I leave food on my plate they might comment but are quite happy when I say I'm full. I was the only one out of the 6 of us eating at the weekend who left anything...yes, I left some pizza!!!

Thanks FG...I could distract myself, but I didn't want to :)
It's like wanting a "rebellion day" every so often, where I do everything I know is bad for me!
Going away is like a little bit of freedom, and when I come home it's immediately back to the problems (no excuse, we all have problems) and family demands. My kids are adults and perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, but they still see me as boss in the kitchen, if I'm there they expect me to cook. I'm working on it, I'm teaching them to cook, but then I feel guilty that I don't want to cook for them every day...parents can always find something to feel guilty about!
And the house was freezing when I got home...the power had been off and no-one had thought to reset the clocks so that the heating would come on again...and I'm thinking why can't you do this stuff?

Sorry for moaning :) just trying to explain why I want to eat, basically half of me doesn't want to come home :rotfl:

ETA - to continue my moan...I came home with a new wrinkle ...must really have been a good night out :rotfl:

Ellie I agree we have to have a rebellion day once in a while. Mine is Friday after weigh-in so I've still got 6 days to repair any damage
f-g I don't have works do's any more (retired :D) but eating out is becoming a bit too regular lately, getting to be a 'lady who lunches'! I'll choose something from the menu which doesn't include sauces and dressings - imo they spoil the taste of the food anyway - and ask them to leave off the chips/potato/rice/garlic bread/whatever. I then feel I can have either a starter or pud, although our usual restaurant has just put suet pudding on the menu which I KNOW is going to be my downfall next time we go there :(. More decisions (struggles)!

    B - F&F, ss milk
D - beef & veg stew in the sc as I type, smelling amazing. Satsuma
T - Basic salad of Little Gem, tomato, cucumber, raw mushroom, hb egg. 2 crackerbread spread w/ff yogurt
    S - Melon, grapes, nana
E - Already done 30 mins in garden, going back for more after lunch

Enjoy the rest of the day :)
