    Hello all

More painting and cleaning this morning :) Have also been lugging car boot stuff around in the garage as it needed tidying up! Lunch and then back to finish off - one more wall to paint and the big sliding door to clean down.

I'm certain that I'm burning a fair amount of calories lol.

b- 4 mini pancakes with maple syrup and cream :o
l - 2 x wraps with cheese spread, l/o gammon and salad. bag of crisps
s - tea and the last chocolate cupcake
    d - portion of stirfry

e - painting, cleaning, probably will drag wii fit out for 10 minutes this evening too.

eta: had the munchies about 5pm so had a piece of pork pie and another bag of crisps. oops.

Officeguru- thanks for making me chuckle! You are right of course, I will be truthful! My scales are in the bedroom on a board and they never move, so what it says is what I go with.

I'm in the difficult position of OH refusing to diet  (even though he needs to more than I do...). He eats what I cook him so meals are OK, but he has such a sweet tooth and there are always sweets and choccies in the cupboard. I'm normally pretty good at refusing them, as tbh I don't have that much of a sweet tooth, but I'm a bit of an emotional eater and whenever work has stressed me out I head straight for the carp!!

My attitude towards food is 10X better than what it was before Christmas, so I'm slowly but surely heading in the right direction. Hmm just had a thought, maybe I can throw OH's choccies up in the loft and let him try to find them! The exercise of looking will do him good :rotfl:

Speaking of I'm going to the gym with SIL tomorrow after work, which should help shift the lbs :D

    Hi Mrs Dragon,

I've lost 2 lbs :j:j:j:j and I am back onto my normal regime again.

Just a quick question... I take it that we are still on the original challenge and that the new challenge starts after the holidays ???

I have a friend who has tried her scales in every room in the house...she now weighs herself on the concrete floor in her front porch...naked :rotfl:She also has about 6 or 8 goes to get the best weight, and when she visits me, she weighs herself on my scales and then makes complicated adjustments to account for clothes and time of day. Not that I'm perfect, but I just do best of 3.

sparrer - you've hit the nail on the head, it's not always what you eat, it's how much.

theatregirl - I'm very impressed with all the decorating you're doing...I've done a tiny little bit of painting, just one wall (twice) and there's not a bit of me that doesn't ache, I hate not being fit enough to get on with things.

Good luck with tomorrows weigh in everybody.

I'm impressed with myself too - although part of my degree was in set design so that helps :)

I have the unfortunate "honour" of having to do the painting and diy now since there is no one else to do these sort of things. Bless Mum, there is no way she could do it now she's older and has a form of arthritis.
Getting painters and handymen in to do the outside work is all very well but the inside stuff I'm more than able to crack on with.

    Morning all :)

Seems some of us are concerned about what we're eating - burgers, cake etc., - just my take on it but I think it's not what we eat but how much of it (like my slice of bread pud yesterday ). Denying myself every nice thing I enjoy is going to drive me straight to the larder, having some of it I feel I'm not doing vast amounts of damage or letting myself down. An eating plan shouldn't be a penance, the expression 'a little of what you fancy does you good' is so true because without a little of what you fancy you're more likely to pig out then feel guilty, and get into the catch 22 of yo-yo dieting. Just mho, I'm far from perfect - yes, really ;) - if I was doing it right all of the time I'd be a size 8 by now!

Enjoy the rest of the day :)

Hi Sparrer, I agree with you ... it was just that I find that if I don't eat rubbish, I get on fine... but I had to visit the elderly parents at the weekend and out came the chocolate biscuits and other bits and pieces that I couldn't refuse (they are all aged 90+) as they had bought it in specially for our visit, so I over did it and then, of course, you get a taste for sugar so I ended up munching other stuff and went off the wagon a bit more that I would have liked :)

Yes, Sirens, I am watching you... Did you not see my curtains twitching ???? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I've done that many times ...shifting the scales all over the bathroom floor and then onto the kitchen floor etc etc ... also I wouldn't weigh myself until I had been to the loo.... was virtually naked and, if I didn't like the weight I was, I could rock back on my heels and make myself lighter !!!

Hi Ellie, I was just visiting and munching all weekend... :(

You make me laugh.... I have done all of that in my time... I see that you haven't rocked backwards on the scales to make yourself lighter... I love the picture your friend makes of standing naked in the porch while all the world goes by :T She better watch she doesn't get put on the sex offenders register :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Let's hope the postman doesn't turn up when she's standing there in all her awesomeness :rotfl:

OK, I'll own up...I step on the scales verrry gently, and in my little world I think that if I curl my toes up it'll knock off a pound :)

First weigh in and its 1lb off for me, yay!

Breakfast- Alpen ceral bar ( I really struggle with breakfast so this is the best I can manage, figure it is better than nothing)

Lunch- Forgot to take some bread out of the freezer to defrost, so will go to the hospital restaurant and have a jacket potato, no butter and beans, with a side salad.

Dinner- Not sure yet as going to the gym straight after work, so it will have to be something quick and easy once I get home around 7.30pm ish.

Exercise- about 1 hour in the gym, going to focus on cardio today to boost my fat burning, with maybe a smattering of weights at the end to tone up a few areas

Sparrer- what you said I definitely agree with. The main reason I failed at "faddy" diets previously is because you have to deny yourself everything, and that is just not sustainable. Now my focus is on portion sizes, filling up on veg and making healthy choices for the majority of my snacks. I still have chocolate if I want it, just a treat size bar, and I think before I eat it, asking myself why I really want it.

One thing that has been really successful for me is, if I feel hungry, before I eat anything I have a drink of water or sugar-free squash and leave it quarter of an hour. Quite often I find I was actually thirsty, and I don't want anything to eat :)
