    Hi All

Never got out at the weekend as OH and friend were fixing the garden fence and loose steps in the freezing cold..

Yesterday, I got another moggie... He'll be fine.. I've never seen a cat with it's tail between its legs before.. It might take a wee while with him to get him back to 'normal'.. sometimes I am glad that they can't tell me what has happened to them..

Today, I stripped the bed and got the heavy continental quilt cover almost dried between snow blizzards.. I also pruned a garden shrub back as the garden bin was going out almost empty..

Then I made shepherd's pie for dinner...

I also spend a couple of hours on the internet looking at embroidery machines but I reckon that as I am now retired, it's not worth paying £700+ for a machine.. maybe 30 years ago, but I couldn't justify paying that kind of money now... I was hoping that I could pick up a second-hand one but they are just as dear.. but I am in no rush... :)

I also took myself to my friend who lives in another part of the village... I was really chuffed.. She lives up the hill (It's not quite as bad as the one on the Hovis advert but... ) and I made it all the way to her house without stopping.. I wasn't even breathless.. :T

When I visited her just after Christmas, I hardly made it to the foot of the hill... had to rest at the primary school gates... pretended to look down the hill but I was actually stopped as I could hardly go on... by the time I made it to her door, I was virtually gasping for breath and hanging on to her door handle for dear life :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

but that is all changing
It's great to hear how things are inmproving for you Officeguru.

Welcome to the gang Inthedeep, it's a lovely group.

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I had a horrid day. Work really got to me and at one point left me in tears. Unfortunately this resulted in me raiding the the Easter presents I'd bought for family, which I had ignored up to now. I also hit the school tuck shop. Hopefully today will be better and then we're on holiday for 6 days.

I think the stress of the holiday is one reason why I got so upset yesterday. Most people love weekends/holidays but I hate them. Back in the UK I was a social butterfly, always visitng/being visited or out doing something. Now I'm facing 6 days where I will speak to no one. I hate it here, I'm incredibly alone. Especially, as everyone is with their families so no one will even have time for coffee.

Enough of my moan otherwise I'll end up in tears again.

    So yesterday...
    b. rs breakfast biscuits
    l.salami roll (tuck shop)
    d. brown rice and red lentil pilaf with red peppers, white cabbage, cauliflower, carrots, toasted cashew nuts and nat yoghurt.
    s. chocolate bunny and about 10 little chocolate egg things :(

Oh I do feel for you emmaneni :grouphug:
I feel like this at christmas...christmas day is fine, but from boxing day to when everyone goes back to work in January I'm alone...it just seems like a time when everyone is with their families, and I shouldn't interrupt their family time. Can be tough when you're the only singleton in a group. Must be even harder when you're in a different country.
Hang in there, at least you have a date to return home to look forward to. How about some sightseeing at easter, or have you seen everything already?

    Thanks for that, Ellie,

It's so rare for me to even get out of the house, I really enjoyed it... Normally, I keep myself fit by housework (similar to Sparrer) and working in my garden... (stopped by the snow) but I am hoping that I feel the difference as I lose each stone.. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: My friend is a retired nurse, who knows my condition and she normally visits me... she comes down the hill but I had to test myself today... :)

I also managed to get into my pairs of jeans.... but there is another pair lurking in the shadows... I can get them on but I can't pull up the zip... :( but once a week, I will try them on

ooh yes, the jeans! Must be the best piece of clothing to make a dieter feel good...when they finally zip up smoothly, nice and tight round the derriere :) I have 3 different sizes, and my aim is to only need the smallest of the 3. Each time I've been wearing them, I've always kept the bigger ones as "back up"...perhaps this is a really bad idea, if I had no bigger clothes to spread into, maybe I'd stop myself spreading? :rotfl:

Are you imagining forwards to the summer, when the next jeans will fit, and it'll be even easier to walk up that hill?

(((Big hugs))) emmaneni, your post really touched me so just wanted you to know that you won't be alone over the holiday, we're all here for you. If it's not too cold can you take yourself out for a coffee, even if you don't have a conversation with someone you can give them a smile. It could be the only one they get that day, and if they're also on their own it's likely they're in the same situation as you. I sometimes spend days at home without speaking to anyone so repling to posts here on MSE makes me feel less alone and can start a dialogue with someone else 'home alone'. Hang in there, don't worry about the chocolate (I'm sneaking hot x buns today ;)) how about you go for a walk to get you out and lose the cal's at the same time? Multitasking, ha ha

Just seen ellie has already replied to you - see you're definitely not alone!

    Hi there
Please may I join the next challange. I know Im overweight but not sure how much I weigh, I will have to buy some scales and see, but I would like to start off with losing 14lbs for the first challange, Im a size 18 and would like to get down to a size 14, and as funds are tight I want to do it eating sensibly and not any faddy diet way. I do eat quite sensibly but perhaps have too much on my plate and I do like choc, biscuits and cake so I will have to cut them down or out, just typing that has made me realise that perhaps I dont eat sensibly:rotfl:anyway I will cut down and lose some but I do need the challange to come onto everyday and keep me in check, so heres hoping you'll have me. Oh and Ive just realised I get NO exercise so perhaps I will start some of that as well - it justs gets worse:rotfl:

    welcome nannygladys,
sounds like you're planning to do it in a sensible way. I think a lot of us on here are doing the same...smaller portions, more fruit and veg, cutting out the cakey, chocolatey snacks as much as we can (although it has to be said that people can still lose weight eating these snacks, you just have to include them in your daily plan).
We start the next challenge this weekend...good luck :)

Anyway, I am feeling seriously aggrieved... I didn't realise you get get more Smilies... I can see now, of course...

l - chips from chippy up the road when we went to get flowers. aero bar.
d - stirfry with extra noodles, slice of bread. glass of koppaberg.
    s- viennetta ice cream.
