I went off chocolate for two weeks actually during the beginning of Lent and it did not help one bit, I STSed same as always. :( With a stressful job and very few (if any) other vices, it's the only thing I really look forward to in a day - although I will admit I have been turning to it a bit much.

The stress from the interview situation has not helped, I am meeting with my manageress tomorrow for a review session regarding my interview to see what she actually thought of it. Not sure what to expect at all from it. (It did come out last week at one point that I was not happy about being overlooked for the position!!)

I read somewhere a long time ago that if you cut out a certain something for a while, think it was 21 days, you wont want it anymore. Not that I've tried it ;)

It might get a bit easier after 21 days, but I think it takes longer than that, after 11 weeks I still get cravings some weekends. The only reason I've not given in is because I made that silly(?) statement that I wouldn't eat any for a year, and I don't want to let myself down. Easter may be difficult :)

This thread is good because we can throw different ideas into the mix, and everyone can decide what's best for them. Theatregirl, you obviously use up a lot of energy in your job, so are able to have your treats. I don't get nearly enough exercise nowadays :(

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

Tell me about it! :rotfl: I have to take two trains there and back plus a bus, which sounds horrendous but in reality it takes me just under a hour most days. Which is about the amount of time most people spend commuting into/out of London every day I suppose :)
Also because my job is relatively physical (carrying stock, serving, rushing round like a bat out of hell) I would have thought I would have seen more of a loss but it's not happening. In my old job (for a different venue with the same company) I shed the pounds well enough to impress myself! Oh well.

    Anyway, meal plan for today:
b- 3 x small slices hot cross bun loaf with butter, l/f blackberry yoghurt
l - 2 wraps with rondele cheese spread, salad. handful of oven chips.
    s - half a "portion" of watermelon"
d - chicken and bacon pasta bake with l/o salad.

it's the opera tonight. lots of lah da dah people I expect. Ahhh lovely stress, so fattening. :rotfl:

    Hi All

I'm a bit late in posting but I was at the diabetic clinic yesterday to get the eyes tested (last week it was the feet :) ) and we had to drive through blizzards etc and then came home..

My beloved took me out for lunch (it seldom happens as he is usually working) so we went to my favourite hovel called wetherspoons, where they had their steak club from 12 noon onwards so I picked the rack of ribs and he had the steak, which we shared -1/2 of each and then a friend came in so I ordered my favourite crumble and shared it 3 ways so I only had 1/3rd of the calories !!!! :A

Elie, Thanks for the rundown on the programme as I forgot to watch it ....

Theatregirl, I have noticed that you seem to have a lot of chocolate in your daily menus but I never wanted to mention it as you could technically lose weight only eating 1000 calories of custard every day (not good for you) so each to his/her own..

Newbies, Welcome and I look forward to reading your posts... By the way, Josslette, what's a white lion bar ???? It's not some form of chocolate is it ???? It's just so I know what I am missing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sparrer - Don't mention the monkeys... I just wondered .. If they managed to totally gag the press, does that mean that we wouldn't have known about the fiddling of their expenses... You know, the flipping of homes and claiming for everything right down to a potato peeler... :D Can you remember them handing back the profits they made from selling the houses that we, the tax payer helped to pay for ???? Anyway, this has nothing to do with losing weight....mmmm... Well it might have, but I can't think of anything right now.... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Dragon
    - When do we have to let you know how much we want to aim for in the next challenge ???? :)

Well, I think that's about all for today...

    Sleep well

Well no chocolate today Theatregirl! :T

I didn't manage to go for a swim today. I decided to have a bath and a chat to my mum instead.
I did do my week 8 run 2 though which was 28 minutes.

    b. ns muesli bar x 2! ns yoghurt, banana (I really need to work on livening up my breakfasts!)
    l. weighed portion of pearl barley with Dijon mustard and balsamic vinegar, black olives, capers, roasted butternut squash, courgette, tomatoes, red onion, garlic cloves (all done with no oil), 35-40g feta cheese and half a tbsp of toasted pine nuts.
    d. carrot and orange soup.

    s. 3 biscuits

I think I'm going to have to be honest with people at work and say that I'm watching my diet and decline offers of bad things. I'm working so hard on exercising and cooking delicious, nutritious and healthy meals then throwing it all away. It's only because I feel that saying no would draw attention to what I'm doing. Bringing in packed lunch and not eating the school lunches is already making people comment. Grrrrrr!

I hope everyone is having a good week, we are over the hump now!

    Tomorrows menu:

    B - Weetabix x 2, milk
L - Chicken Salad Sandwich on granary bread
Afternoon Tea(?) - Scone with jam and cream, melon, blueberries, grapes
T - Baked Beans, Slice of toast, cheese

Forgot to to this yesterday so this is what I ate:
B - porridge, large bowl, sk milk
L - tuna sandwich, Gold bar
T - philly and sugar on toast (I have no idea where this came from, I was hungry)
S - two Jordan's fruity bar things (found in the car, never normally eat), one bag nik naks

Another pretty horrendous day yesterday, I swear I do normally eat a pretty balanced and varied diet!

Also got myself on the work scales and despite multiple layers of clothes (supporting at a farm yesterday) and it being middle of the day, was somewhere around 10 1/2 stone, so perhaps a little less to lose than I realised!

Hmm could be right - just don't say you are trying to lose weight but want to eat healthily and as you are starting off you need to know exactly what is in your food (or depending what you are eating say you are doing Paleo or 5:2 or something like that!)
