See there's a programme on TV tonight on Really at 8pm called "The Big Fat Truth about Low Fat Foods". Might be interesting.

Well...that was a disappoinment...didn't realise it was going to be the usual format of young, beautiful, slim woman eating a stupid diet to prove how bad it is for us...hardly what you'd call ground breaking journalism. She moaned about how awful it was all the way the through the programme!
She made a valid point early on that it would affect her body and weight, and it might be difficult to regain her "equilibrium". So why would she do it at all, what's more important than your health? Being on TV and making some money? I don't think so.
I know from bitter experience that upsetting your normal eating habits can cause long term problems (in my 20s I was ill and then in hospital eating very little, then "fed up" by my mother when I got home...I don't care if it makes sense or not, physical or emotional, I know I've found it difficult to stabilise my weight since then).
I'm afraid I've got no respect for celebrities who do these stupid diets "just to prove to the public how bad they are". We're not stupid, we know already!

Thought I'd try listing my foods if I'm going to be doing this, today is not really typical, but if I wait for a "perfect" day to start I'll never do it!
B - Gold bar (yeah, what a start!)
L - leftover pork,hm yorkshire puds, cheesy veg (totally unecessary that it was cheesy, added nothing to the flavour, ruined the healthy aspect)
T - a sort of hot chocolate thing, sk milk.
No exercise, no other snacks. Totally not a usual day, I do normally eat three actual meals, I've just not got around to it today! Today is a day off too, work ones look very different!
Hope I've listed it all right0 -

Ellie what you had to say sounds a lot more interesting than the programme!
Welcome Bexim!
Today in terms of exercise was a huge fail. I think I'm going to edit the no more trouble zones video so I only do one of each circuit rather than 2. Even though I could hardly walk today I tried it tonight and had to stop after a third of it when something popped in my shoulder. Then could only do a 45 minute swim.
b. ns muesli bar, banana, ns yoghurt
l. sardine pasta (pasta serving size watched) and loads of veg
d. hm carrot and orange soup
s. butternut squash (picking while cooking for tomorrow!) nuts, tbsp raisins, turo rudi.

Ellie about the best bit of the programme was her saying she was going back to proper cooked food

She could moan for Britain (or should that be Ireland), couldn't she?
And "going back to proper cooked food"...did you see the size of the pizza she had before her challenge started? I love pizza, but never have bigger than a 6 inch one, hers was huge :rotfl: (but properly cooked of course :rotfl:)

I know it's possible to lose weight and keep eating chocolate, but if you're getting stuck, have you considered cutting it out for a bit? Don't tell yourself you've given it up, just say to yourself "I won't have any TODAY, so your brain thinks you might have some tomorrow
I don't want to sound preachy, and I certainly haven't beaten wanting to eat chocolate, but I'm trying...haven't had a chocolate bar since the start of this challenge, and I know it's helped my weight loss.
theatregirl - just wanted to add - my aim this year is to get to the point where I don't even want chocolate any more. I'm 51 now, and if I'd done that in my 20s I probably wouldn't have spent much of my life having to lose weight...if I'd got my weight under control in my 20s it would have made SUCH a difference to my life. Now I'm taking the long view, I don't want to spend my 50s and 60s still struggling with weight. I wish I'd had this epiphany in my 20s instead of my 50s.
I went off chocolate for two weeks actually during the beginning of Lent and it did not help one bit, I STSed same as always. With a stressful job and very few (if any) other vices, it's the only thing I really look forward to in a day - although I will admit I have been turning to it a bit much.
The stress from the interview situation has not helped, I am meeting with my manageress tomorrow for a review session regarding my interview to see what she actually thought of it. Not sure what to expect at all from it. (It did come out last week at one point that I was not happy about being overlooked for the position!!)
I read somewhere a long time ago that if you cut out a certain something for a while, think it was 21 days, you wont want it anymore. Not that I've tried it0
