Emm - I completely sympathise. I have a colleague who is the same, not about the weight loss but she knows I have had some difficulty with paid employment, like she is going through at the moment (she's trying to get a second job). She was going on and on and ON at me about it the other night and she got on my stinking nerves.
I have another colleague who is much lovelier (thank goodness) and she's doing WW, and she's an exercise freak. She's lost 11lbs in 2 weeks which to me is really quite....shocking, whichever way you slice it.
Don't be disheartened by her comments, you know you are doing well and thats what matters. The compliments from others are surplus to things - an added extra.
If you hear any conversation just speak up for yourself and say "yes, I go running and swimming. It's part of my new lifestyle and I'm happy with myself!"
Also Perhaps you could ask this competitive person, next time she starts up and without too much conversation, which diet she is going to try next :rotfl: and then tell her you have been lucky to find a plan that suits you.
And if she keeps going on about eating a mini muffin for example - say a bad diet is one that deprives you of everything - look at WW with their syn points, that seems to work for a lot of people (inc. my colleague)! Me personally, I would make sure she SAW my enjoyment eating it, with little comments like "Its soooooooo goooooood doyouwant some" (maybe with my mouth full of muffin too lmao)
As for the diet without exercise thing she's harping on about? Pffffffft. :rotfl:0 -
So interview day is over thank goodness. I was so shattered when I got in, had such a tiring day, couldnt even bring myself to eat properly. Calories for yesterday probably through the roof as I pigged out on ice cream while in Central London.
I did however visit M&M world, four floors of...M&Ms O.o........
yesterday:
b- 2 x crumpets with butter
l - Pub lunch: fish and chips with mushy peas
s - haagen daz shop: 3 x crepes, 2 scoops ice cream, choc sauce - so yummy
d - small slice h/m cornbeef pie, handful of grapes, tea (for a newly acquired sore throat).
e - fair bit of walking, plus tube/train/buses to work and back
today:
b - cheese on toast x 2, tea
l - l/o stirfry (hoping spices will help my throat)
d - portion of chicken and pasta bake ready meal
unsure about snacks but probably will have plenty of tea!
e- tube/train/buses to work and back. clean out buns hutches too.0 -
emma her diet is not sustainable and as soon as she stops doing that she will either be very unwell or (and!) pile the weight back on!! You have found a new lifestyle that will stay with you and keep you healthy! :j
I have to do all my weight loss purely with food as I physically cannot exercise and so I am happy with a very (VERY) slow rate of loss that I can then sustain.Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I completely understand where you're coming from emmaneni , and I know where your friend is coming from too, because you could have been writing about me some years back!
Cabbage, banana, carrot, low carb, low fat, starvation and a dozen others...been there and done them all. Result - yo-yo, thin fat, bloated, lethargic etc etc.
Since coming to OS I've lost gradually and steadily and although I can put a lb on, take one off occasionally, the sensible eating plan is giving me a much healthier life than I had before. Like many I have a chronic illness which prevents me from strenuous exercise but with the support of everyone here I can achieve and maintain my aim. I'd break it down to 50% common sense, 50% support and encouragement.
Sadly your friend won't give up her yo-yo dieting until she realises what she's been doing to herself. It's like pressing a self-destruct button. I'm just so pleased I found the self-help one.
Didn't post yesterday as I had a sleep day but basically ate as follows
B - F&F, sk milk
L - Cheese& pickle wrap
D - Pork loin chop, sweet potato wedges
S - melon
Today
B - F&F, sk milk
D - jackets with chilli & cheese, apple and pear crumble with Cd'Or rf ice cream
S - melon, apple, nana
E - usual plus a lot of running around after people!0 -

Find me adding to previously posted:
s- 2 mini crunchies, 3 fruit shortcake biccies, 1 twirl bar, 1 pack of crisps.
Oops. :A
Oh and also had a email from my manager at work - she wrote to all of the interviewees for the position I interviewed for yesterday thanking us all and saying what wonderful devoted enthusiastic staff she has....and because of that the presentations were of a very high standard, so she's going to look over them again at the weekend and come to a decision on Monday.
Arrrrghhhh :rotfl:0 -
Thank you for all the support everyone. Meant a lot, got worse yesterday she told me that my stomach was flatter last week!!!!! lol
Theatregirl, I'm glad it went well on Tuesday and I hope she makes the right decision at the weekend. Fingers crossed for you.
After my swim last night I was too exhausted to type so yesterday...
b. no sugar muesli bar and no sugar yoghurt
l. hm baked salmon and lots of veg spring rolls with ginger, no sugar yoghurt.
d. hm cauliflower soup, nat yoghurt and berries.
s. tbsp of currants between run and swim, 2 dry wholewheat crakers (27 cal each). They were snacking because I was bored! Tut Tut
e. Week 6 run 2 and 45 minute swim.
Hope everyone is having a good day.0 -

She'd have something to say about mine then, I made a loaf last night and bread always makes my stomach look huge. Had a slice for breakfast and guess what? Say about 5/6 month preggers? :rotfl:
The rest of the day will be sensible eating because I want to get off the plateau tomorrow. We'll see...
B - Slice hm bread, butter, marmalade very  but oh, it was !
L - Grilled back bacon in WW pitta
D - One egg omelette with leeks, mushrooms, shredded cabbage, grated carrot and celery
S - Melon, nana, apple, pear
E - Usual plus supermarket shopping (hate that, it wears me out for the rest of the day), meeting a friend for a stroll round a garden centre this pm. Leaving debit card at home and only have enough in my purse for a cuppa. I'm a terrible spendthrift in garden centres and it's far too early to buy what I want.
Good luck for tomorrow everyone0 -
Evening all

s - tea tea and more tea.0 -

I'm the same Sparrer. After lots of tests the doctors all said it was IBS. I don't seem to be triggered by anything in particular. Every evening I can be bloated so I look anything up to full term!
Homemade bread for breakfast is perfectly healthy, nothing to worry about.
B. No sugar muesli bar and yoghurt
L. Spring rolls
D. Cauliflower soup
S. no sugar youghurt and...
I was exhausted today when I got home and didn't think I'd be able to move until tomorrow. Then I started to crave a fresh fruit salad so managed to haul myself off the sofa and walk 30 minutes to the supermarket! When after I'd picked up some strawberries, a mango and bananas I met 3 old students. They invited me to go to the patisserie for a catch up. I unintentionally chose the 'healthy diet' cake. It was some no sugar, flour thing with layers! It was yummy and so wonderful to find out how they are all getting on at university. Well worth the extra calories.
It also gave me the energy/motivation to go for a 1 hour 5 minute swim.
What a wonderful day.0 -

It is quiet this week! And easter's getting closer and closer!
I'm not hopeful for tomorrow, I know from experience that I have to be VERY strict to keep my weight loss going, and I don't think I have been this week. Just that little difference between very strict and eating normally...been eating normal meals, and no snacks. Was about to say I haven't had any of the "C" foods, but just realised I've had too much cheese this week...another C food
Managed 3 short walks, and a bit of pottering in the garden this week. Was hoping to do more, but time's been taken up with hospital visiting. Also started a bit of spring cleaning today, back's aching with a vengeance now
Good luck everyone with this week's weigh in.
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0
