    :hello:Can i join please?
Am currently 11 stone 9lbs and would like to get down to ten and a half before my wedding in June. :)
I do enjoy cooking from scratch but also work shifts so my eating habits can be a bit erratic especially on nights. i try to batch cook and take extra portions to work to stop me snacking, but patients are often buying us choccies and biscuits as thank you's, so temptation is all around. Also not really been exercising, except running around at work, need some motivation, but always tired after my shifts. Am considering trying the 5:2 diet as some friends are on it and they are definitely getting thinner. Also will walk the dog at least once a day, (normally OH's job, he will be pleased if I take over one of them!)
Hopefully with spring coming will be more inclined to go outdoors and get excercising. :j

Welcome and good luck with your wt loss goal for your wedding :)
Old style weight loss challenge, start date 14/7/13, starting wt: 14 st 12, goal 12lb in 11 weeks:
Total weight loss to date: 12lb
  • Thanks, think I will fit in well here, and it's nice to have others to chat to about diet related stuff, as OH just rolls eyes and says "you don't need to diet", which is very nice, but not that helpful.
Weigh in day is friday right?? am on nights then but will try to post in the morning.
    :-)

    Welcome couponchaos,

Yes, you will fit in well here ... we all have a common goal .. just using different ways to get there... Also, there are no winners or losers because if you don't lose weight one week, no-one crucifies you and you just get on with life and hope you can resist the temptations the next week... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and you get to read some great posts in the meantime.. :j:j:j:j
  • Hi All

Not a lot to report... cat is still in at the vets... doing more tests..

Last evening, my OH couldn't dish up the dinner although it had all been prepared .. He just had to get 2 plates and use a ladle and dish up the pasta... Well, he forgot to add the meat... I don't know who he thought was going to eat it and he left the pasta sauce in the pot... so today, I took out the meat and chopped it up and put it back into the sauce so I then boiled up some more pasta (different shape) and mixed it through the sauce with some blue stilton I had left over from Christmas, added more wine to make sure that the sauce wasn't too thick and then popped it in a dish and warmed it through in the oven...

I know the above doesn't sound suitable for losing weight but it isn't all that bad... I make my own sauce, with a minimum of olive oil .. just enough to stop the peppers etc sticking to the bottom of the pan.. 1 tin of tomatoes, tomato puree, peppers, garlic etc etc.. and then I use stock to thin it down and 1/2 a glass of wine.. I usually have cheese grated on the top but as it was going into the oven, I mixed stilton through it.. Stilton is a pretty strong cheese so I didn't have to add very much..

If I have pasta, I don't have bread or potatoes on the same day.. In other words, I choose either pasta, potatoes or bread in any given day.. It's what suits me best...

Well, the great weigh-in has come around again... Here's hoping ...:A:A

    Hi all :)

I am reading every day but not been posting as I'm finding it really tough at the moment and don't want to just moan!

I want to report a loss of -1 today please Dragon.

It's really frustrating because it has taken way more hard work and effort this week to lose that single lb than it did in the weeks when I lost 2 or 3. I have been perfect with my eating and I have done 30 mins on the treadmill every day :( if that is what it takes to lose 1lb, what more can I do to lose more than that?! :(

Mind you, my BMI has gone from almost 35 to just under 31. Soon I will just be 'overweight' and not 'obese' anymore! And I have happily had to retire my Size 16 jeans and am very comfortably in Size 14 skinny jeans, which feels good.

My next wedding dress fitting is a week on Tuesday and I ideally wanted to have lost a few more lbs by then as I think after that I won't be allowed to lose any more at all. But I won't have :(

Argh here I go and I said I didn't want to moan - this is why I haven't been posting!

Good luck with weigh in everyone and I hope you're all feeling healthy and happy x

    Hi all,

    https://www.mapmyrun.com

I've not seen it mentioned on this thread and it's free and good. Their mapping is excellent, and I think they do a site for walking too.

And this is one someone mentioned on another thread

    Right back to lurking.... :)
Just trying to get through life coping with disability.
  • SFS for me, but I'll take that. I've been doing overtime at work and my daughter has a horrendous sick bug so meal planning has gone slightly out the window. Didn't make it to boot camp last week because of it but managed to get back there this morning, so not too bad all things considered.
