  • STS the same this week

Madam Dragon, sorry for the late weigh in - I was convinced the scales might say something different this morning so I held off weighing until then but didn't have time to post until now!

On the downside of today, we had fish n chips for tea - on the up side we walked about 4 miles to get it!

Hi everyone, I haven't been posting here because I've been quite ill since Christmas. I've had about 10 days of being "well" so far this year! Starting to feel a lot better in myself and decided to weigh myself this morning. Cannot remember how much I said I weighed at the beginning of the year but now I weigh 12 stone 1 lb!

    ETA - That's 7lb gone for me!

It's probably all down to just not feeling hungry with all the illness, and in fact this last week I've been forcing myself to eat because I've been feeling so nauseous (I'm not pregnant by the way, like OH's mum thought!) Speaking of OH, he's been doing the 5:2 diet and has lost about 8 lbs himself in about 3 weeks! So I might join him this week and see what happens!

Hope everyone is keeping well and well done on all the losses!

  • Morning all!
Just back from a jog with the dog - saw loads of joggers yesterday along the river bank and so decided to go myself today.
We did 40 mins of interval training - running for 2 mins then walk for 30 secs - he's only little so didn't want to tire him out too much (that's my excuse anyway :D). He's now retired back to the couch - not sure that's what Couch to 5K is all about :rotfl:
The sunshine, exercise and fresh air did me the world of good and I feel fab now - in fact just about to have a go at the new Tae Bo DVD that arrived on Friday.

Hope we all have a good day - make the most of the weather!

(((Hugs)))Mrs_T_M, good for you making the decision to see your gp, the majority of surgeries these days have a 'diet nurse' or dietician who will offer ongoing support, maybe even weekly visits or classes which might help. Re depression I won't say not to be scared because that's something that you'll only over come in time, but the best advice I had when suffering from that horrid illness was to write your worries/symptoms down, and if need be just give the gp the piece of paper to read. Will be thinking of you, let us know how you get on :)

I'm going to the GP about my weight and depression in the morning. I'm scared (meeting anyone new makes me jittery) and worried. I've put back on all of the weight I had originally lost during this challenge three times now. I'll lose the same 5 pounds then gain it back... I feel like I cannot win without serious help, so hopefully I can get it or at least be pointed in the right direction to get it tomorrow.

Well done, good decision. Your GP is there to help you just remember that. If he/she doesn't suggest it, ask him/her to refer you to a dietitian - these are professionals trained to listen and give bespoke dietary advice, and possibly a counsellor. Come back and tell us how you got on.
