Woke up really hungry this morning! Why is it that some days I'm fine and other days I could eat anything in sight!

Anyway...willpower must be in place as I've had a good day and even stuck to my small shopping list whilst in Asda!

    B - porridge, skmd milk
L - hm brocoli soup, 1 slice bread (had it for 3 days now, thank goodness its gone )
T - curry with small naan bread
S - yogurt, cereal bar, digestive biscuit, bannan

    E - 5k run on my treadmill, fastest I've ever run it 30 mins & 42 secs!:j

Uh oh, I am having a bad day....

B - oat so simple with a banana, tea
    S - clementine
L - a Tesco healthy choices sweet and sour chicken meal (yuk I know, I hardly ever do ready meals, but I was surprised and impressed to read the ingredients and see that there wasn't a single thing in it that I wouldn't use in my own cooking), a chocolate soya yogurt, tea
S - 2 slices raisin toast with margarine, tea

And.....that takes me to 1097 cals already (I am meant to be on 1200 a day!) and I am going for my wedding menu tasting tonight (and wine and champagne tasting!) so I shudder to think how much I will consume :(

BUT, I am not going to let a wobbly day tip me off the wagon.

I am really suffering with my lady time (I know I have moaned about it before - I only have them about four times a year and boy when I do, it's hell. So much pain, nausea that is only helped by eating, back pain, headache, etc etc...) but I am only going to let myself be naughty for this ONE day.

Tomorrow I will make sure to stay well under my calories and I might even try a gentle walk on the treadmill if my tummy and back will allow it. They say it helps cramps anyway!

How much damage can one day do? Even if I end up consuming something like 2500 cals today (I have no idea how much I will have at the tasting!)? I don't want a disappointing weigh in this week :( I should have hardly eaten anything all day in preparation for tonight but I have just felt so rubbish. Stupid, stupid, excuses, excuses.

Hope everyone else is managing better than me today!

  • Hello All

I'm new on this thread. I have a 6 month old baby and I have been waiting for the motivation to lose the extra stone I gained. I think the motivation has arrived so I changed my diet starting from Monday this week.

I'm 40, 5'6", 9st 5lb which sounds fine but I have a slim frame and my rather rotund belly and bum are making me look like a barrel :(.

I have been eating loads of fruit and nut chocolate (I'm talking 100g a day :o), sweet muesli, toast and sweet tea but have now cut those out - just allowing myself a small homemade fruit muffin in the evening as a treat. I don't want to count calories; I think I would start obsessing about food.

I am breastfeeding. The baby is only just starting to wean so I know I still need plenty of protein and calcium for her sake. Is anyone else on here breastfeeding and dieting at the same time?

Other than looking after my three children full time (I homeschool) - age 8, 4 and the baby - I'm not managing any exercise. The baby is feeding 4 or 5 times during the night and I'm exhausted so I'm not going to beat myself up over lack of exercise. Hopefully she'll stop waking up so much in the night soon and when the days get lighter and warmer I'll feel a bit more like walking the children round to the library etc.

    Today I had:-
b - large bowl porridge with skimmed milk & cinnamon
l - homemade soup, small piece of cheese, satsuma
t - chicken casserole-type thing with a small dumpling, baked potato & broccoli
s - mug of cocoa with skimmed milk, a banana, homemade blueberry muffin, mug of milk with a tot of rum ;)
other drinks - decaf tea with half tsp sugar, hi juice squash, sparkling water

Thanks in advance for any comments/tips/suggestions, especially concerning the breastfeeding issue.

I'm getting the impression your DH isn't too bothered whether you lose weight, he must like you just as you are :)

The truffles are at work (gannets there have scoffed them)
DH just took the easy route on food. Made the schoolgirl error of letting him shop on his own a month or so ago and he filled up on easy carp
He wavers between saying nothing at all and then taking p155 mercilessly about tight trousers. Which to say the least is irritating
Plus I don't like being unfit and wobbly so less to do with him and more to do with me.

    Hi

I would be really careful about cutting out food while breastfeeding.. Your milk could end up with not enough nutrition for the baby... so I would just cut out the carp ... because you want to make sure that your milk isn't losing its goodness.. and you should find that you will lose the weight ... :):):)

If you feel that you look like a barrel, I'll pop down and visit you and you'll see that you are a stick insect compared to me... :rotfl::rotfl: I look like a barrel.... This reminds me of the film, Spartacus ..:):):)
