A sneaky peek shows a 1lb loss this morning. Hopefully it will stick around so I can update next week:T:T:T
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

VickyA - don't stress too much, you can't really gain that much in a week if you have been at least trying a bit, you'd have to be eating 3000 cal a day to gain that much! It's probably fluid retention. We all fluctuate a lot (I know, I weigh daily it can be quite shocking!), maybe weigh again in a few days and see how it looks then.

I have just realised I haven't lost anything for about 6 weeks. I am wondering if it has something to do with my thyroid problem as my last blood test showed that levels which should still be going down have gone back up... I never liked to blame my thyroid for weight problems, but it seems after reading a lot of people's experiences to be quite common. Some people can go to the gym every day and eat 1200 calories and still not lose a pound. I am going t try being really really strict for a few weeks and if no loss I will have to speak to the doctor. Though as I am not medically overweight they probabaly won't consider it significant.

Kids have been up all night coughing so I am even more tired this morning. I wanted to go for a run but I can't see that happening.

Sorry - having a 'feeling sorry for myself' day today...

Hugs ragz, we're entitled to an off day now and again. I remember what it's like being up with poorly LO's (particularly when it's weekend and you could have slept in!). It'd be a sound idea to get the thyroid checked if nothing else than to put your mind at rest.

B - 2 slices Danish with scrape of marmalade
D - trout, hm oven wedges
    T - tba, probably soup & crackers
Snacks - melon, satsumas, plums, apple. Keeping a tub of chopped celery in the fridge as it's much cheaper than the grapes I've been picking at through the day. It's there permanently but I won't mention it again ;)

Just tidied the freezer and put goodness knows what into the sc, will make an interesting soup. At least it's done what I intended, cleared the freezer of all the little odds and ends of veg's. Now I can fill it up with tubs of soup later :D

Hope it's sunny where you are :)
  • Morning

Last night had a really bad cold suddenly come on. It's one of those stuffy head ones so my ears and nose are bunged, runny eyes and a bad cough :( Hate this kind of feeling. One good thing is loss of appetite but I will try to eat normally to keep on track.

:grouphug: to Ragz and all who need one today.

    Breakfast: F&F + ss milk
Lunch: Seeded bread ham salad sandwich (ham , asst lettuce, cucumber and beetroot) no butter just a smear of salad cream.
Dinner: Lean pork steak, new pots and lotsa veg
Snack: maybe a small pack (4 biscuits) Belvita
    Drink: water

Wind is howling here today, some sunshine then next minute it's dark and raining. Hope you all have a lovely day where you are.
    DC xx
  • Decided to have a bit of a change today as I’m feeling a bit bloated; we’ve all got these kitchen gadgets that are bought and hardly ever used, so I’ve dusted off the old Juicer and enjoyed for breakfast a pint measure of HM Juice made from – grapes, clementine’s, carrot, celery, apple & fresh ginger.

Just about to have a light lunch of Mung bean & spinach soup. Dinner is going to my downfall though, as I need to use up some potatoes (love food but hate waste) so decided I’ll make Corned Beef Hotpot, but I’m determined to only have a reasonable portion and leave the rest for tomorrow.

To all those feeling poorly or a bit down – take care & hugs coming your way.

    Morning all.

I weighed again today and it showed 1lb gain - could you remove one of my :) when you've got a moment, please, ragz? :( To be fair to myself I did think that last week's figure of 2lb lost in 3 days was a bit unlikely - I think today's is more accurate and I've just STS, which isn't too bad considering how much I've struggled this week.

Today goes (I only eat twice a day at weekends):

Brunch - 3 slices HM seed bread (well, 2 and a crust) with butter and 2 1/2 slices smoked salmon; pack of dried tropical fruit
Snack - handful of roasted mixed nuts; apple; carton of fruit juice
Dinner - LF turkey and leek lasagne (made with cottage cheese rather than cheese sauce); stewed plums with LF yoghurt; couple of small glasses of white win

Exercise - not much, sadly, as the weather's miserable and I've got a lot of studying to do (and I will go and do it in a minute, honest ;)) - a walk round the the supermarket this morning and a session putting together a flat pack table later will probably be about it.

Well done to everyone who's lost this week, and best wishes to the rest of us still struggling on.
Back after a very long break!

    Hi everyone

Lost 1lb this week!:j Really pleased and have exercised aswell 4 hourly sessions this week. A bit of a late start to the new year but feel more motivated now. Diet is still something I'm working on and needs to be improved though! Anyway, one step at a time......

    Afternoon All,

A quick one from me as I've just got a short break as I worked an extra 3 hours for DS this afternoon. At least he said I didn't need to go in till 6.30 this evening rather than the more normal 5pm.

B: HM granary roll toasted with raspberry jam and butter.
L: 3 ryvitas with garlic cream cheese and cherry tomatoes. 1/2 Eccles cake
D: Chicken thigh with potato wedges, peas, grilled tomato and mushrooms. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.

Snack: 1/4 HM scone (which sounds very virtuous but I ate the other 3/4 last night after baking them after I'd listed my food intake for the day.

Exercise: Walk to work and back so about 3/4 mile.
