  • Carrot Hummus Recipe as promised :)

    250g Carrots
    1tbsp Sunflower Oil
    1/2 tsp cumin seed
    1/2tsp carroway seed
    1tbsp lemon juice
    juice of 1/2 orange
    1tbsp honey
    1 tbsp peanut butter

Roast carrots in the sunflower oil with the cumin and carroway seeds in oven at 190C for approx 30mins.

Once done take out of oven and allow to cool slightly.

Put into bowl honey, peanut butter lemon juics and about 1 tbsp of orange juice. When cooled add the carrots and blend. Add orange juice a little at a time until you get the right consistancy.

    Chill and enjoy.

Have just put it into MFP and it comes out as 392 cals and 23g fat for the whole tub that it makes. Put it down as 8 servings which is 49kcals and 3g of fat but that was a bit of a guess. Still think it comes in lower than some of the low fat hummus there is

  • Sorry Ragz - nothing to report today as my talking scales still havent appeared, so I'm none the wiser as to my weight.

I must confess to being utterly rubbish this week - quite a few glasses of wine (spread out, not binge drinking :rotfl:), several chocolates (still eating the Xmas goodies) & KFC with kids! Probably no loss for me....

Well done to those of you with far more will power than me :T

I have a friend coming round later who is really suffering with problems - so she wants to bring a carryout & wine

I do have a batch of Tamarind fish curry bubbling in the SC to keep me going over the weekend. I find if something has a strong flavour (rather than just being too hot) then I don't feel the need to eat as much. Couldn't find any dietary info for tamarind paste though - any ideas anyone? CBA to make my own from the pulp :D

Has anyone ever read the Body Clutter book from Flylady?
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...
  • Yay, have lost 2LBS this week. OK this feels like a good week but I know it wont always be this easy!

Exercise: Did 2 hours hard labour in the garden on Tuesday and I am sticking to my plan of running Wednesday and Friday no matter what (going tonight even though its pouring down).

Food: Have got the snacking a bit more under control. Resisted sausage rolls on Tuesday even though OH and kids had them. Had apple pie at Mums last night, small piece and no cream on it, but felt guilty and didnt really enjoy it.

Got to dash and get kids organised for footie practice. Hope everyone is OK with their results today.

I blame The Witch... I am eating everything I see today :EasterBun

I can't count how many gingerbread biscuits I ate (and two bags of fruit and nuts and a bag of crisps), then I had dinner with the kids and I know I will end up eating with DH later even though I will try not to.

Arrrgh, I really should NOT bake, especially at this TOTM. But I made gingerbread because I thought I don't like it and I wanted to bake with the kids, turns out it's just the shop stuff I don't like!

Bought two packs of 'roasting veg' (ready meal style) from Waitrose last ngiht as they were 10p, I thought 'oh good that's something healthy to have with dinner', nope.... nearly 300cal per 1/2 a pack and 15g of fat  for potatoes, carrots and butternut squash. Found out why when I cooked them... drenched in butter! Really wish I hadn't bothered now, I can cook veg that tastes nice myself without making it more fattening than a dessert!

It is not my week :o

    Evening All

My day seems to have vanished today. I thought I'd have a free afternoon but ended up spending nearly 4 hours at the hairdressers - eyelash tint, highlights and cut and blow dry. Still it's been pouring with rain all day so not a day for being out at all.

B: HM granary roll toasted with raspberry jam and butter.
L: 3 ryvitas with garlic cheese and cherry tomatoes. 1/2 Eccles cake
D: Boneless pork loin steak served with spinach, pepper, mushrooms and green beans. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.
Snack: 1 wafer Cappucino biscuit so far.

Exercise: 1 hour stability ball class with weights. 1 mile of walking.

Gardenia - I have a small jar of sainsbugs tamarind paste and label on the back says per teaspoon 16kcal, 0.7g fat, trace of salt.

Hope this helps, it doesn't mean much to me cause I've never been one to count cals.

    Hello everyone
Well done to everyone for just trying. I lost 1lb this week which isn't great but still a step in the right direction. I find the dark evenings are perfect for staying in and grazing!!

I've not done any exercise this week, apart from walking to and from work, and going up and down the stairs quite a bit on Wednesday while doing housework, and I've been finishing off a pack of mince pies (1 each day) and a chocolate orange (2 segments at a time), so I was very pleased to see a 1lb loss today, but I really must get more serious about this diet next week!

Oh gosh, it's terrible. I've put on 2lbs. I have no idea how and I am just soooo depressed. Well, I have an idea of how I've put it on but I haven't eaten to excess... Might not have been the best person in the world, but def very little chocolate. :o

Really need to sort myself out. :(
