I always have porridge. I've always believed that it's a 'super food'. Can't eat it made with water though...yuck!

Oats are good for the heart and libido. They lower blood pressure, absorb toxins, scour artery walls. They release the testosterone that governs the sexual drive in men and women - The Telegraph

So eat up....its good for mind, body and soul (and your sex life lol:rotfl:)

Indeed :) and if you make it a lifestyle change instead of just a diet then you will barely notice it!

Although I must disagree with you on yoghurts - I eat 500g of Greek yoghurt daily. Cheap, only 300kcal, and packed full of good nutrition!

I eat natural yoghurt , no I meant the fat free fruit ones full of sugar and sweetener and beginning with m. So basically I'm trying to give up anything processed especially from the diet industry.

MW re porridge you can use mixed spice if you don't have cinnamon. Also a handful of sultanas or other dried fruit helps to provide natural sweetness, so no need for sugar.

Further to my previous, DD, DGD2 and I went shopping, I sat in the car most of the time as my breathing isn't so good this past couple of days. so
D - cheeseburger and chips, 1/2 small bottle orange juice
T - Garlic mushrooms on a slice of toasted Danish
S - grapefruit, melon, grapes, satsuma, 1/2 banana

    Sweet dreams :)

i have put on a lot of weight in the last 12 months, it is not so much as over eating , but lack of exercise due to very bad knees.

the food though is the problem and the nutritional value intake.
its well know that our food now contains a fraction of nutrients it did 50 years ago. the food is all but tasteless as well compared to the continent.

the old routine of 5 a day bears no resemblance in reality.

all i am asking for is advice on a health diet with food that does me good and not keep giving me that sugar rush all the time

missrlr my sugar intake is probably far too high then !!! 3 of my 5 a day are usually from fruit.

I was horrified, mine is usually at least 3 out of 5 too! Not too sure how accurate MFP and the levels quoted are. Most veg has sugar in it too!

Have just entered my cals into MFP and have gone over by 103 cals! It's the snacking that has let me down today and I knew it but am glad I've imput the details anyway. Here's what I had today:-

B: Sainsbury's express Apple and Cinnamon porridge
    S: Banana
L: Ciabatta with slice of ham, mixed salad, cucumber, red onion & tomatoes (not fat used but wholegrain mustard used instead)
    S: grapes
S: (at home whilst cooking tea because I felt ravenous) 6 x Sainsbury's crackers (equivalent of Ritz crackers)
T: Vegetable quesidillas (hm) with guacamole (hm), soured cream and Nando's salsa
    S: Dairy Milk Freddo.

Must try and claw those cals back tomorrow.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Thanks x Will have to watch the snacking, that's all. I have planned:-

    B: Fruit and Fibre
    S: banana
L: Same as today although ciabatta will be substituted with tortilla wrap
    S: grapes
    T: hm chilli with rice

I think I need to try and ensure that I have a snack mid afternoon so that I'm not going home feeling ravenous.

I forgot to mention before as well that someone at work waved a plate of biscuits under my nose today and I declined. Mind you I think this is what drove me to seek out chocolate (the Freddos) when I went out at lunch time.
