I've had a very domesticated day today - cooking and sewing. I made scones and syrup sponge this morning and made red onion marmalade and started some patchwork this afternoon. The morning's endeavours were for eating and the afternoons for Christmas gifts.

B: 3 rings of tinned pineapple
L: 2 poached eggs on toast. Very small scone with butter.
D: Roast chicken leg with green beans and roasted butternut squash. DS and DDiL had the syrup sponge but I resisted that. I shall probably have a HM chocolate mousse later.

Exercise: None today after all the running and walking yesterday I decided to give my legs a rest.

Just been looking at the diary and I have 4 weeks to work before the Xmas school holidays and subsequently the Xmas food onslaught.

So, with this in mind I have decided to make a 4 week effort to firm up and maybe lose a pound or two that can be gained back over the food fest.
I have visitors next weekend and have a works do on the 14th but other than that I have no excuses to hold me back.

    So the effort involves....
    • No less than 210 minutes of exercise a week (30 mins a day) - walking, running and swimming
    • A bit of work on the abs area - crunches etc - to firm up the belly
    • Sticking to 1500 cals a day (MFP says I should be around 1750 to maintain and its worked so far so I'll cut down just a little bit)
    • No sweeties!
Its just 28 days starting tomorrow - anyone with me?

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
  • Great Molly!

Will start tomorrow with a long dog walk as exercise and no more than 1500 cals. And the dreaded 50 crunches to get me back into it - am hoping to get back up to 100 a day. Want abs of steel to cope with the Xmas mince pie bloating!

I will focus on what I am eating and keep my food diary contemporaneously !

    Morning all :)

Would love to join you on the 4 week challenge WW, I really have to get off this plateau, but can't do walking/running/swimming/crunches so will substitute them with
    1. 5 mins step on bottom stair. My stairs are in the sitting room so I can watch television while I'm doing it ;)
    2. 5 mins stretch - got a long elasticated thingy my feet keep falling out of
    3. 5 mins twist - got a little round thing that you stand on and twist, as long as you don't overbalance and topple off it :rotfl:
    4. 5 mins push off's, like push ups but standing with feet 3 feet from the wall (first time I tried it I hit my nose on the wall!)
Some of the above repeated twice a day, if I have enough breath

    B - F&F, sk milk
D - 2 egg omelette with mushroom, red onion, grated carrot, tomato. 2 rashers of grilled back bacon
    T - hm leek & potato soup, 2 crackerbread, 1xvegemite, 1xrf cheese & pickle
S - clementine, grapes, nana, kiwi
    E - general housework

Saw a 'celeb' chef making sweet potato crisps which I'm going to try today, he just peeled sweet potato with a veg peeler, put in a pan in a hot oven with a spray of 1cal oil, sprinkled with salt (I use lo-salt) and baked for 20 mins. Anyone else tried these?

    Stay warm and dry :)

I shouldnt laugh, but aww, thats funny and cute at the same time! :rotfl:

Quick post for me as I have to nip up to the post office.

    Yesterdays foodies:
b- cheese on 2 slices white toast.
l- chicken goujons, handful of oven chips.
d- mini yorkshire, minted lamb steak, 4 mini potatoes, brussel sprouts.
s- half pack of oreos (oops :A), 2 iced fingers (double oops :A) and 2 mini cheese portions.

will be better today - more to do and less time to do it in ;)
