Oh gosh, getting back on the straight and narrow is full of pitfalls! Obviously those weeks eating bread have undone some of the gains I made in the last few months! On Saturday I had a glass of wine, or at least it was supposed to be a glass but the friend I was with bought a sweet white rather than my usual dry red..., as we opened the second bottle I felt all the old cravings start to raise their heads again and ended up raiding the Xmas cupboard for biscuits. They didn't last long so I then ate the last of DS2's stash of chocolate and haribo - I've just managed to get his diet somewhere vaguely back to normal and Granny is learning slowly, she brought him grapes this week LOL. That wouldn't have happened 2 months ago!

So this morning I picked up a book I bought a few weeks ago but not felt up to reading, Potatoes Not Prozac. And it explains exactly who I am! Early on in the book (I'm a fast reader, already half way through) there's a question: "Imagine you come home and go into the kitchen. A plate of warm chocolate-chip cookies sits on the counter just out of the oven. Their smell hits you as you walk in. You do not feel hungry. No one else is around. What would you do?" Well prior to Feb of this year I'd eat the lot and blame next doors dog (next door doesn't have a dog). 2 months ago I'd have enjoyed the smell and had a glass water. On Saturday I'd have inhaled them. I'd thoroughly recommend this book for anyone who has sufficient will-power to stop smoking or go to a job they hate every day but who apparently doesn't have enough willpower to stick to a diet...

    Love it.

I agree with the pitfalls immensely. Yesterday evening kind of fell apart and I didnt follow the mealplan - or rather, I did, but I added some things to it....such as two 50/50 rolls with cheese in them, another pack of those velvet crisps (thank goodness they are only 84 cals) and the remaining phish food ice cream thats been in the freezer since july - about 1/6th of a tub.... :A

And then I fell asleep about 10.30pm on the sofa and despite DM turning off the TV, turning off the light, and then trying to rouse me four times over the next 1 and a half hrs - I didnt budge until 1.30am apparantly, when I rose from the dead and wandered upstairs in the dark!! LOL :D

But I am determined to do better the next four days!

today's mealplan (lets hope it sticks)
b- quaker microwave porridge made with ss milk, hard boiled egg, chopped up and put in the last wm roll. :)
l - tortilla x 2, spread with dairylea triangles x 2 and filled with salad (pepper, cucumber, radish, lettuce). velvet crisps <3
d- (after work) individual steak pie (was reduced in T's yesterday) with half a tin of sweetcorn. :)
s- to be confirmed.....probably ww mini rolls or special k bar lol
  • Hi Folks

I’m all set for a relaxing afternoon now – cuppa and a good book……bliss. Made an early start to all my household chores and a shred session so feel I have earned it.

I can only apologies if my meals are sounding very repetitive but I am concentrating on using up the ready cooked meals I have in the freezer.

B – Toast, spreading cheese, tomato
    L – Smoked Haddock Chowder
D – Veggie Shepherds Pie topped with butternut squash mash, Brussels sprouts.

Slight amendment to today's food. Got back from Tosco and CBA'd to cook a jkt potato so instead I grilled 2 x quorn sausages and had those with 1/2 tin of beans.

Snacks this afternoon had been pears in juice and a curly wurly :o On track for my calorie intake today. Really want to see some progress on the scales this week.
