theatregirl some people are incredibly rude! It there a notice somewhere that you could point to, something like 'Do not abuse our staff...' etc, I know a lot of shops and offices have them now, and quite rightly so. Or inform management, you don't have to take that.
Management already know about the customer in question. We don't have notices like that (to be honest we really shouldnt have to HAVE notices) because 97% of our customers are very nice, 2% will be annoyed with service or something gone wrong, but not blame the cashier/usher - but the 1% remaining will obviously throw a fit and think they are head and tails above the rest.
I always take comfort in one of two notions: 1) the fact that they WILL get their comeuppance at some point, because karma is a b*tch
or
2) I do what my friend (who also works in retail does) and recite all the ways the customer is a moron in my head, and in the tone of David Attenborough. :rotfl:
funnily enough that job interview I went for is going to be all about this type of customer so I better darn well start getting used to it!!0 -

Hi everyone,
Home day today and I've been busy re-organising our bedroom. I moved 3 wardrobes into the spare room and sorted out loads of things for the charity shop, so all in all a good day!
Food for today:
B - banana, tin of mandarins (go me - look at all that fruit)
L - 2 x quorn sausages, 1/2 tin baked beans, mushrooms
D - hm shepherds pie containing carrot, peas and celery, green beans
S - 2 mini mcvities muffins, bag of ready salted crisps
Okay, so I sort of ruined it just now with the crisps.... must try harder tomorrow.
Have a great evening everyone.

Evening all.
I am really annoyed with myself. I realised that over the last few days that my snacking has turned into a habit and I am half convinced I am either a) comfort eating or b) eating because of the cold weather.
The other option could be that I STILL havent heard about my interview outcome so maybe it's stress induced or panic or something.....
Long story short: I caught myself eating 1 chocolate digestive + 2 small fruit shortcake biscuits today (they were freebies at work). This is only the first time I am really thinking about my food intake this week and I am ashamed.
I know there is no excuse really for over eating and this last week I have tried taking snacks and food from home with me but I keep dipping into my purse to buy a sausage roll one day, a mini 20p freddo bar another, a sandwich on another day.
There is no reason for me to do this as I know I have food with me and I really need to STOP myself doing this for the other five days I have to go to work in the evening.
I do have willpower, I know I do, it was willpower that got me through losing the initial 3-6lbs in the first place....but now I'm back down a bit I seem to be going off the rails.
Help? Advice? Support? (Please no flames Ms Dragon)0 -
Could you leave your purse at home? Or even just empty the cash out and take only your debit card for emergencies.
Personally I find I don't crave things if I eat low carb; it takes a while to adjust but the physical addiction does fade.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Don't particularly like the idea of leaving my purse at home since I work evenings from about 6-11pm (dependant on show) an hour away from home, and have to get 1 bus + 2 trains (connection in the city) there and back.
I could try just having the debit card I suppose for the next few days and see how it goes - but there would be nothing to stop me waltzing into the supermarket or up to the nearest ATM!
I know I know, it's really bad of me to even think that! Must have willpower.
Maybe I will have to knock back on the carbs again too....the part I am still finding hard.0 -
Did weigh in this morning as I'm leaving at silly o'clock tomorrow morning, another STS, I'm not surprised though after that jacket yesterday - it was mahoosive.
theatregirl I agree with you, having worked in the public sector most of my life you can almost guarantee that 1% is going to rock the boat at some point, even if it's a social event which they're suppose to be there to enjoy. I just feel sorry for them, they must have had a poor upbringing.
B - 2xDanish toast with yogurt and marmalade
D - cauli cheese (last of!) with mushrooms & 2 grilled back bacon rashers. Kiwi fruit
T - anything perishable in fridge thrown into an omelette
S - melon, satsuma, plum, kiwi
E - cleaning house, tidying garden, ready for tomorrow. Why do I always have to clean the house to within an inch of its life when I go away, in case there's a fire of something . At least it's lovely and tidy to come home to..
Have a sunny day and a bright weekend0
