  • Oh dear, it looks like there have been a few illnesses this week! Well done for all the losses last week, but I have to say, I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggled.

The bad weekend is over, all my good intentions went out the window when I woke up in the middle of the night on Fri with awful stomach cramps and feeling ever so sick. That was when I pulled out lots of easy to digest foods, and now have lots of toffees to eat my way through...

Here's to the week ahead! I'm planning lots of winter comfort food this week- I reckon some low fat soups, cottage pie and pasta bakes will do me well.

    Evening All

Nice to see so many new faces - we should have lots tonnes of weight by Christmas between us! I've had a nice lazy day today - a lie in with a book, followed by a bit of cooking this morning and lying on the sofa with another book half the afternoon.

B/L: Omelette filled with goats cheese, mushrooms, red onion and garlic.
D: Chicken casserole with green beans and mashed swede (mushrooms and carrots in the casserole) I also did dumplings for everyone else but managed to avoid the temptation. HM chocolate mousse. I made syrup sponge and pear and raspberry crumble but again managed to avoid the temptation, though I did scrape out the sponge mixture bowl.

Snack: I have some jam tarts in the oven and may succumb to one tiny one!

Exercise: Short walk to the shops and back.

  • Hi Folks

Not too bad a weekend end here, I haven’t been tempted to search out or make anything other than my main meals but I have been very haphazard about menu planning – so in an effort to really get back on track and try to use up all the odd bits and pieces in the fridge I’ve just done a bit of menu planning and rustled up what I can only call “bottom of the fridge” Soup = very sad spring onions, watercress, spinach and some peas & broad beans from the freezer - don’t yet know what it tastes like :rotfl: I’m waiting for it to cool a bit before I blitz it in the liquidiser

    So today I had
    B – boiled egg & toast
    S - banana
    L – Butternut Squash Soup
    D – Cheese & Tuna Bake, salad & pickles
    S - Pear

  • Ugh, had a complete pig out day, think it's due to being so darn cold. Went to see Rhod Gilbert though where I used to work, was amazing, was very warm there and had lots of nice food/drink, good seats too and a good laugh!

revised meal plan as it did change a fair bit from what was posted.

b- 2 slices w/m toast with cheese, remaining squares of dairy milk bar
l - minted lamb chop, swede, parsnips, fresh chopped greens.
d - 2 soft rolls with butter and marmite, pack of s+v crisps.

snacks [plural!] - 3 cups of tea, apple pie with ice cream in resto before the show :) pack of cheese+chive crisps, 3/4 of a pack of salted peanuts, 1 chocolate digestive biscuit.

did avoid the alcohol though as mentioned in last post since I was driving.

back on the straight and narrow tomorrow :)

ended up making a lower carb apple and blackberry crumble yesterday (splenda and coconut flour - Dad is coeliac so have all manner of "flours" for when he comes - this one is the least horrrible so far). Was very tasty but REALLY dry.

so after the first taste sucked all the water out of my mouth I added some moisture back in with double cream.... :o think next time I'll just make an apple/blackberry fool or something.

    stuck to plan otherwise though.

today - no breakfast, feeling very bloated (coconut flour is 39% fibre and is just sitting in my stomach).

    Lunch: chicken stew
tea: need to use up some cabbage and pork, so will either be pork and cabbage and gravy, or some kind of stir fry.

snacks: don't think I'll want one at this rate, but if I do, an apple.
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)
  • afternoon all. :)

feeling rather cold again this morning, back to the thick dressing gown and socks over pjs as heating won't be fixed till tomorrow morning. cant wait to get my train to work - at least I'll be warm for a few hours between the station and work and then all through work lol!!! Poor DM has to sit and suffer till tomorrow morning! :(

b- small bowl of oatibix fruity cereal with ss milk, 2 bacon rolls (3 rashers bacon w/o fat).
l- crackerbread with cream cheese, branston pickle. individual bar of choc.
d (about 11pm when I get in from work) - ww beef stew ready meal.
s- pack of sunbites crisps before I start my shift :)

Okay trying to counter balance the sodium and pain killers I had last week! So with that in mind I am trying to have more fruit and veg this week (and hoping to stay off the pain killers as they pile the weight on me!), so with this in mind my day is as follows :-

b - peach slices in light syrup
l - tomato and red pepper soup and a roll
d - Soba noodle and Shiitake soup
drinks - pint of water, 1.8 litres herbal tea

So far this takes me to 1,111 kcals for the day :rotfl:, I am supposed to eat about 2,000 (yes I AM that podgy :o) so I may have a boiled egg mid afternoon or maybe some cheese and crackers this evening (oh and when Dr Dragon gets home I will have tea with milk :D which will add a few more calories as well!)
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

    Afternoon All

Thanks for the nice comment about the food photos Robin - I get DH to take them for me when he is around so can't always post one.

I'm at work early today - half five instead of seven so will be taking a packed tea to eat.

B: Very small portion of muesli with extra seeds.
L: I made a very thin omelette that I then used as a wrap which I filled with chicken, mushrooms, red onion, garlic and HG spinach leaves stirred together with a bit of creme fraiche. HM chocolate mousse.
D: Prawn mayonnaise salad. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.

    6263305.jpg

Snack: Small bar of dark chocolate - I usually share one with DH but he didn't want half so I ate it for him!

Exercise: 1.5 hours of full body workout with a couple of friends. 30 lengths at the pool. About 2 miles of walking.
