thanks Dragon!
am 13st 2lbs this morning (and always only 5ft 2!) which I'll take as my starting weight, and I'd like to aim to lose 9lbs by christmas.
my plan for today is
b - 2 boiled eggs
l - HM soup (chicken/veg) or chilli and veg (both batch cooking now)
t - roast pork, lots of veg and no roast potatoes
snacks - not sure, I do best when I limit all refined carbs, bread products and starch: I find it very difficult to moderate.
exercise: other than housework, nothing, unless I can persuade the kids to go to the library, then it'll be a couple of miles walking.:AA/give up smoking (done)

'Morning all :hello: and sorry I didn't contribute to the smileys (though to be fair it's been less than a week since joining and between weigh-ins for me - I count a small success as I've done nowt but gain over the last six weeks so was happy with sts. Plus am trying to empty the fridge which makes for some odd meal choices.
).
Mind you, yesterday I didn't do so well:
B - 2 x wm toast, butter, heaps of marmite. Tea x 2.
L - Pancake with ham & cheese sauce. 2 x tiny florentines.
D - Bacon & cherry tomatoes. Cream slice. Water.
S - The last ginger biscuit. Lots of tea.
What happened to my five-a-day? ..Writing down the intake is really useful as without this check I'd not have noticed.
Today I have guests for dinner so will cook a proper meal.

Morning all

Feeling a bit better today although I hardly slept at all last night. Yesterday's food wasn't too good but am back on track today.
B - bagel with margarine and jam, tea, orange juice
D - home made pizza. My pizza has no cheese but it was still way too big. Was absolutely amazing though, you know those meals that are so good that as soon as it's gone you feel really sad?!
S - some canned pineapple, soya yogurt, a few glasses of orange juice (I hate drinking juice as I know it is just liquid calories but the acidity feels good on my sore throat and I feel I could do with the vitamin C, and didn't have much fruit in the house as it was the end of the week and was in no fit state to go shopping)
Didn't count calories yesterday and am not doing today although I am mentally keeping more track today.0 -
Morning all.
Getting really frustrated this morning, got up and the heating wasnt on so I went to switch it on - only for DM to tell me it had clicked off and she couldnt get it back on...she hadn't tried to call the company we are with or a independant engineer....she'd left it to me to do  Can't get a repair done at the moment as with it being Sunday the company we use is closed
So we currently have the gas fire on in the living room and I have a thick blanket over me and fingerless gloves in order to type this post!!!
Boiler needs a service anyway which is being sorted next week, thank goodness I got us cover a month ago (my dad used to sort everything out with regard to that but didnt have us on a breakdown policy) otherwise we'd be screwed.
anyhoo. off out tonight to see a comedian (rhod gilbert's tour)
so meal plan as follows...
b- 2 slices w/m toast with cheese. remaining dairy milk bar (to curb irritation)
l (about 4pm) - minted lamb chops with mashed swede and parsnips.
d- probably will have some crisps, chocolate bar, ice cream at the theatre as a substitute. wont be having alcohol as I'm driving 30 mins each way there and back.
hope everyone else's sunday is better than mine!!!0 -
Theatregirl - poor you, that sounds rubbish! Mind you, a lot of the hardcore people on the 'Is your heating on or off?' thread would be calling you a wuss for even thinking about having it on at this time of year
not me though, mine has been on for an hour this morning to take the chill off! Like you I'm a bit worried as the boiler is making terrible noises. It is about 18 years old and we know it needs replacing but we were so hoping it would hold out until after we've paid for our wedding! I might call out a BG engineer but not sure they'd come simply because 'it's making funny noises'!
Hope you get it sorted soon and manage to enjoy yourself tonight!0 -

That's exactly what we do - have it on to take the morning chill off. It's been very cold and wet here in our area of London the last few days and it's not particularly pleasant this morning either.
We managed to get through to Homeserve on a different line other than the repairs line somehow and earliest they can do is Tuesday so I guess we will just have to make do with the new gas fire - it's one of those new fangled ones with the fake flames and a rather cool backlight feature. :rotfl:
However DM is now acting like she's hard done by having to call them after I asked her why she hadn't called them and her excuse was "you were asleep". Um, ok, lol.
Needless to say the air since last post is now a little more chilly than it was previously...if you get my drift. *cough*0 -

Are you with British Gas? We have Homecare and I just logged on to book am appointment and the next available appointment was......today between 12 and 6! So I went for that. If you are with BG may be worth looking online? I have always been able to get an engineer round really quickly by booking online, have never tried phoning. Hope you get it sorted!0 -

Our gas is with British Gas, yes - but our boiler is a new Valliant (sp?) boiler covered with/by Homeserve. We have both gas and electric in our house.
Not quite sure how the whole thing works to be honest, I just called Valliant up and they covered us and bang job done I hope.0 -

Hi all
Can I join please, although a little late. My weight today is 14st 6lb, having already lost a stone since August :-)

It will be a challenge as I currently don't have a kitchen, only a camping stove and a microwave so may need to stick a few ready meals in, which I normally hate.Old style weight loss challenge, start date 14/7/13, starting wt: 14 st 12, goal 12lb in 11 weeks:
Total weight loss to date: 12lb0
