Theatre girl, maybe you could ask your mum not to buy you naughty treats?
our loved ones can sabotage us hugely when they are only trying to be nice! (Case in point - my fianc! saying to me last week 'you've had a bad day and you've done so well in your diet, why don't you have some cake?' Doh!)
Yes, I have. She used to go out and buy me baguettes from Greggs, all loaded with ingredients and mayo (which although I dont mind, I try and avoid it these days). Also sausage rolls, pasties, all sorts of stuff with pastry. So these days, even when she does hm steak and kidney pie or corned beef pie I ask for mine w/o the pastry.
It's the carbs I'm really trying to avoid - have switched from potatoes to swede/parsnips, hardly eat pasta or rice - although I have it with ready meals every so often and have a packet of uncle bens rice + a packet of untouched pasta in the cupboard! gone from white bread to brown bread (with the exception of soft rolls).
Although I am keen on the ww bars - fruit and nut chocolate is my downfall. But it's a very nice downfall to have :rotfl:
As my grandad used to advocate regularly - you've got to have something you really enjoy in your diet; otherwise whats the point?0 -
Ok I have decided - I am going to do 15 mins on the treadmill (fast walking, afraid I can't run!) every day this week. I know it's nothing but it will help me get into the swing of things and then I can work on increasing the exercise.
I have been told by a few different doctors to just forget exercise when trying to lose weight and simply eat as little as possible. Even though they are doctors....I'm not sure I agree and I can't believe that exercise doesn't help.
So off I go right this second to the treadmill! I will do this!0 -
Afternoon all
I was tempted by a new type chocolate bar today - all bubbly in a purple wrapper but when I ate it, it was just so rich wish i hadn't really! Or at least I wish I hadn't eaten it all and saved some for tomorrow!
Rest of the Day has been ok!
b - porridge & apple, OJ, water
l - lf cheese sarnie from a shop, Apricot fool, choc bar
d- will be jacket pot with little tin of tuna & beans
s - WI committee meeting so maybe a cake
e- dog walking and walking round at work!
Daisiegg - somone wise on this here board told me that anything you do above your normal is exercise so your 15 mins on the walking machine certainly counts!0 -

Thank youI did it and I do feel better for it, although I started to feel quite dizzy by the end. That's the hunger lol! That will be my mini challenge this week, doing 15 mins a day. I definitely have the time this week as my marking is up to date for the moment, so there are no excuses!
Hope everyone else is having a good day. I will post my food later as I prefer to post what I have actually eaten rather than what I plan to eat, so it will be accurate!0 -
B - (a bit indulgent as it was my day off...) porridge with raspberry jam and a dollop of vanilla soya yogurt, cup of tea (442)
L - vegetable soup, small apple, small plum - 189
D - whole grain rice with sausages, peppers and onion (541)
S - tea, and one and a half cooked sausages (oops! The rest have gone in the freezer to avoid temptation!) (151)
E - 15 mins very brisk walking on treadmill
Total cals - 1323
Could be worse but would have been better if I hadn't eaten that extra sausage. I wish OH got home from work earlier so we could eat dinner earlier, it is such a long time between lunch and dinner!0 -
Had an insomnia night last night - only 3 hours sleep before I had to get up. Absolutely exhausted after 6 hours of travel and a day of training. And I did wind up eating from exhaustion. Those of a weak constitution may want to look away now:
5.30am breakfast: 2 crumpets with LF jam
7am cereal bar
8.40am roll and sausage
12.30pm 6 sandwich quarters, packet of crisps, 2 apples
3.30pm banana
5pm croissant
7.45pm small steak pie, cous cous and veg
I think I may go to bed now before I can eat any more!0 -
