  • This morning the scales were VERY kind to me, and I was very inspired so arranged to meet my housemate at the gym after work and give her a lift home at 7pm.

    Finished work at 6.45... decided to dash to the gym anyway and squeezed in 20 mins (better than nothing) and housemate was nice and held on. Then came home, realised I didn't have anything in my meal plan for Wednesday, so hungry and stressed dug out something from the deepest recesses of the freezer:

    B: muesli and FF yoghurt, kiwi
    S: at presentation, big bowl of biscuits next to the big bowl of fruit. Chose an apple :T
    L: ham and LF cream cheese roll, apple, cereal bar
    D: Beef burger on brown roll with cheese, ham, brown sauce served with a baked spud (left half) and veg

    Yes, so, something tells me the scales won't be just so kind tomorrow. Oh and I have training, they sent round the lunch menu ahead - get this: 1 sandwich, 1 cake, 1 chocolate bar, 1 pack of crisps, 1 carton of fruit juice, all balanced out by 1 piece of fruit. I think even before I started dieting, that would have been too much! Will smuggle in some of my own fruit I think.

    Yup- I think that's my GDA of sugar for the rest of the weekend! And it's a 2 day training course...

    Hope the interview goes alright tomorrow!

    Am interested in the Hairy Dieters people are posting about, is this a cook book? My favourite dieting cookbooks are the 2 from the programme Cook Yourself Thin that was on a few years ago. The recipes are lovely and com from scratch stuff but quick and simple. I hate dieting cookbooks that substitute things like Splenda instead of sugar etc, I'd much rather have a little of the real thing (I think the problem is I e tended to have a LOT of the real thing!!!)
    Yes the Hairy Dieters are the thinner versions of the Hairy Bikers! The programmes were on TV a while ago and a few people have posted that the recipes work well and are tasty. MrA is selling the cookbook at a reduced price at the moment.
    I have the Cook Yourself Thin book as well. It's just that I sit and read the books instead of actually doing them :o

    Hi all, hope everyone's ok. Sorry some of us seem to be having tiring/tough/painful(!) weeks.

    I had a shockingly bad day today culminating in a meeting that left me in tears. I have already eaten my dinner without OH as I was starving and knew that if I waited, I'd end up snacking. I had a quick step on the scales this morning and it's still the same as last Friday :( need to try and be good. Having friends round to dinner tomorrow and I've already estimated the cals and know it will be bad...
    Oh Daisiegg - you have had a rough time haven't you. Hope things are looking a bit better soon. Take care. Love n hugs.
    What are you cooking for your friends? Can you cut the fat content or have a smaller portion?

    I'm thinking of ways to increase (i.e. start) exercising. I never seem to have enough hours in the day so I will have to look very carefully at any 'spare' time and work out what I'm GOING to do ;)
    B - muesli, Greek yog, honey
    L - tom & lentil soup, wedge of bread, banana
    D - jacket potato, beans, grated cheese, coleslaw, 2 small choc biscs :o
    S - 2 crackers, pack of SpK biscs
    Water and 3 cups weak tea
    2025 Fashion on the ration
    150g sock yarn = 3 coupons
    Lined trousers = 6 coupons ...total 9/66 used
    2 t-shirts = 8 coupons
    Trousers = 6 coupons ... total 23/66
    2 cardigans = 10 coupons
    Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 38/66
    Nightie = 6 coupons
    Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 49/66
    Sock yarn 150g = 3 coupons ... total 52/66

    This.

    If you work out some at home exercises (I dislike public exercise but want to take up jogging and fat burning exercise at home) and want/need virtual "company" each day for this I will join you from afar. Misery loves company (and a chocolate bar) after all ;) x
  • Morning All,

    Well yesterday’s evening meal ended up being a bit carb heavy – found some leek & cheese sauce in the freezer and threw some cooked broccoli & pasta in – lovely comfort food and just what I needed to warm me up but very unlike me to eat so much starchy carbs after 5.00pm.

    Will attempt to keep things a bit more balanced today :
    B – Porridge with stewed nectarines
    L - Leek & Potato Soup
    D – Avocado & Prawn Salad

    Sparrer, Deleted_User I hate the eight legged blighter's as well – how come they always seem to manage to spin their webs at face height – the route I walk from my back door to the car or to hang out washing always seems to have one that catches me right across my face……..Yuk, Yuk, Yuk…. My neighbours must wonder what on earth I’m doing as I wave my arms about to clear the way of this invisible hazard :rotfl:

    Morning all :)

    B - portion of my F&F concoction, with sk milk
    D - grilled sausage, 2 lean rashers, hg tomato, sauteed mushrooms, red onion, dry-fried egg, slice toasted Mr Wobbleton's Danish
    T - cup of pea soup, 3 crackerbread with vegemite, rf cheese & pickle, marmalade
    S - melon, nana, satsuma, apple
    E - at home today so every 30 mins I get up and do 5 mins step/stretch/weights etc. Then later when the television is on I get up and do some small thing in every interval, polish a table, wash a couple of kitchen cupboard fronts, and so on. When I'm doing them I make it like an exercise, stretching, keeping tummy pulled in etc, generally exaggerating all the movements. Amazing how much housework and exercise I get done on a 'lazy' day
    theatregirl, MrsCD might it be an idea for at home exercise for you? Just a thought :)

    Yes, yes, yes! There are far too many shrubs and trees in my garden (who planted those, I wonder :whistle:) for them to weave their evil webs across - I swear they're trying to surround my garden so it's become an aerial mine field! Yesterday one even managed to create a hazard between the bin and the side gate, the beggar knew it was bin day :mad:

    Have a web-free day :)

    Breakfast - 2 tablespoons of leftover chocolate porridge and half a slice of cold brown toast dipped in beef and lentil bolognese from the slowcooker! Yeah...
    Snack - 30g dried apricots, chopped, mixed with 15g sunflower seeds and 10g dessicated coconut. Nearly 200cal. 15g carbs (too much sugar in dried fruit!)
    Lunch - soup again
    Dinner - beef and lentil bolognese (lasagne for everyone else) with lots of veg...

    Really need to up my fibre, eating low carb this week have noticed I seem to eat lots of meat and cheese etc but not enough veg (need to go shopping really!)
