I've just been reading Neris and India's Idiot Proof Diet book - thanks to everyone who recommended it. I don't think I'll follow the diet itself but the rest of the book is very interesting and the section on drinking more water was fascinating - I foresee a lot more wee-breaks for me!

    b- porridge & fruit
l- Chicken Tikka Wrap from Sainsbugs - bought crisps too but I didn't eat them
d- Hairy Dieter's Chicken and Ham Tangle Pie - Good for you and MSE too using up the Sunday's LO roast chicken! And it was very tasty. Even Mr Sezza enjoyed it!

    s- grapes, banana
    e- Doggy walking

:rotfl: I was eying that up last night, but put off by the 'low-carb' bit. My Mum did loan me a book on 'your bodies many cries for water' which was interesting- I really liked that just drinking more water stopped me feeling so tired, and let me cut out caffeine (i.e. diet coke). But I'm sure my work colleagues are concerned by the amount of times I'm out my chair getting another glass of water and then nipping to the loo :rotfl:

I've ordered myself 2 more motivational books instead of this one - looking forward to when they arrive. Will let you know if they are any good!

    B: Muesli with FF yoghurt
L: bagel with LF cream cheese (the last of my reduced price bagels :(), apple, pear, cereal bar
D: sausage meatballs with pasta, veg, pesto and a dusting of dried grated cheese
S: nothing yet, but still feeling peckish. baked pear sounds tempting, take the chill off.

Another good day today (I must be ill!)

    Breakfast - greek yogurt
    Lunch - cheesey soup
Dinner - chicken with spicy stir fried veg

Snacks - 3 fruit pastilles, 1/4 slice of bread and honey.

Scales hovered on 11,10 before settling back on 11,11 so hoping to drop that pound by Friday ;). Tempted to go back to weighing in lbs as my scales do .2 of a pound when you do it that way.

  • I've had a shocking day - I almost dare not post :o

B: Bacon & sausage sandwich (I was late for work, we had no milk or butter in :()
L: Potted beef sandwich - same excuse as above
D: Mince, Mash & Yorkshire Puds ... didn't take the joint out so full roast tomorrow but no yorkshires as i've had them 2 days on a row :o
    Snacks: 1 cookie, 1 apple & 1 banana
Drinks: 4 pints of no added sugar juice ... the water at work tastes not too good by itself.

I am feeling over run this week - I am covering my bosses holidays so working full time instead of 3 days, my daughter has got another tooth so we've had some 4 am wake ups and we are decorating for new carpets arriving not to mention hubbys course work due tomorrow so we definately spread outselves too thin! Still need to menu plan for next week so I can shop accordingly.

I am looking into organic boxes (not technically os) but I know a few people get them ... I am wondering if it'll encourage me to do more vegetables :)

  • Sounds like you are having a busy week Maddy, it's hard work trying to be organised when you are a working mum isn't it?

Am interested in the Hairy Dieters people are posting about, is this a cook book? My favourite dieting cookbooks are the 2 from the programme Cook Yourself Thin that was on a few years ago. The recipes are lovely and com from scratch stuff but quick and simple. I hate dieting cookbooks that substitute things like Splenda instead of sugar etc, I'd much rather have a little of the real thing (I think the problem is I e tended to have a LOT of the real thing!!!)

    Yesterday I had:

Breakfast - 2 slices of toast with real butter and a milky coffee made with kara coconut milk (my daughter is breastfed and intolerant to dairy but on the advice of our dietician I have to start introducing a little dairy back into my diet - oh the joy of real butter after 9 months of dairy free stuff!)

Snack - 2 sesame ryvita topped with banana and black tea

Lunch - lentil soup, 3 rice cakes and an apple

    Snack - 2 hm hobnobs

Dinner - hm cottage pie and peas (amazing when I weighed out 75g of peas compared with my usual portion)

Supper - 2 slices of toast with dark chocolate spread (oops) and black tea

Thanks Savesummore and Rosewood for your kind words, I’m feeling loads better today and had a good night’s sleep after doping myself up with paracetamol – are there many cals in painkillers??

Will be sticking to a soft diet again today, as childhood memories of having teeth out and being given mince & tatties for tea – end result the horror of the mince getting stuck in the sockets :rotfl:

    B – Greek yoghurt & raspberry puree
L – Pea, broad bean & mint soup
D – Not sure yet, will see what surprises are lurking in the freezer.
