Nipped on to the Wii today before going shopping and can report a 2lb loss :T
Really pleased as I'd not really been very vigilant about what I was eating, and hadn't time to go on Wii since the weekend.0 -
I have STS which is absolutely fine as I had some lovely food whilst I was away. I also experienced Tai Chi for the first time and which can be done sitting down. Wow it was wonderful and I am now on the look out for a class which caters for people with limited mobility.
Hope you all have a really good day xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning all
Dinner out last night was lovely, but I'm sure it was pretty calorificwe're out again tonight for my friend's leaving do, curry and drinks, so will try and keep my meals for the rest of the day restrained!

:eek:well ive not done so well. ive put on a pound from last night with a massive slab of home made cheesecake at 11 pm. ive prob not put on a pound but the food has weighed heavy in my tummy. i weigh every day. i know your not supposed to. i am not actually part of this challenge as i did not declare what i wanted to loose but im with you all - all the way and doing the same as you all are. im doing weight watchers but have not got chance to go to the meetings so am just doing it myself. ive probably got another 6 pounds to go so im nearly there. i dont really mind how long it takes me to get there as long as i get there. i was thinking about two months. ish. i need to maintain. im not good at that. food today
b special flakes and milk allowance
l ham salad with coleslaw
d is the normal saturday takeaway but this is fine for me as ive gone for the healthiest thing i can so when we have chinese i have veg noodles and when we have indian i have chicken tikka no sauce. now when i wasnt watching what i eat i had all the pastry mixed starters....really bad.
then there will be a minimum of 6 pcs of fruit and 8 glasses of water. those two things im really good at but do like to add a bit of cheesecake which im naughty for.:eek::eek:0 -
I'm showing a 3/4lb loss this week (three quarters). Not sure if we're recording that detail.
Ragz - you seem to have a recorded a 2lb weight loss already for me, but it was 1lb last week (total now 1.75lbs).
Quite happy with that as on target for total 8lb loss. Really enjoying having the support and keep up the good work people!
Sorry, the list is rather long and my brain is rather disfunctional at the moment! Do you want me to leave it at 2 if it's 1.75? I'd rather not get into posting fractions of pounds or everyone will want to and it will get even more complicated!
DH treated me to a bottle of wine last night, I forgot to tell him I am not drinking so I had a few glasses... need to find a recipe to use up the rest so I don't drink it! It did go nice with the curry though, which I was very good with and had a tine portion of rice as I was having a mini naan..

Being my first official weekend day at this lark, I was a quite worried about undoing all the good work through the week, so made myself busy, busy busy today. It worked and kept my mind off of snacking but now my legs ache and I just snaffled a handful of Maltesers.
It's all good though, I made this 'Makeover' Moussaka for dinner today which I tweeked a bit (only used one aubergine sliced thinner and halved the topping) making four portions rather than the stated six; with a big bowl of salad. Was every bit as good as my more calorific lasagna, so a keeper and two portions gone in the freezer for another day.
Funny thing is OH gets pretty much the same for dinner as me everyday, he hasn't even noticed the healthier options, additional fruit and veggies, nor complained about the portion sizes. :TMortgage

Hello All, hope you are all feeling fit and well. This is just the start of week 2 for me and enjoying this style of weight loss/management where I am still buying and eating the food that I normally would but just more aware of the combinations and amount I put on my plate. I have never tended to ‘pile’ food on my plate (that’s what comes from being brought up to clear my plate and not waste food) but I’m now convinced that ‘average’ just doesn’t apply to me - always thought I was special :rotfl:.
Last night I made a Pilaf/Kedgeree type dish using up some smoked haddock from the previous night. Because I’ve never made one before I checked a recipe but was horrified at the quantities it suggested. The recipe was to serve 4 but I was only cooking for me and didn’t really want any leftover, so duly quartered the ingredients and measured out 62.5g of rice but thought I’ll never eat all that, so went back to my tried and tested measurement of a handful and a bit - end result the rice along with the fish and veg was a comfortable portion for me to eat and no leftovers.
I’m aware that portion sizes are often discussed on the forum but out of curiosity I searched for information on “average portion sizes” in particular rice and pasta. Although there were varying recommendations one internet site did give small, medium and large portions, but even the small portions – Rice = 70g, Pasta = 100g were a good bit more than my ‘handful and a bit’ (Rice = 35g, Pasta = 60g)
I know that these are only recommendations, everyone’s appetite is different and only we are responsible for how much we put in our mouths, but it did make me think no wonder as a society we waste/throw away so much if we take these figures literally and think these are the quantities we should be cooking/eating.
On the other hand, it may just be me and perhaps my stomach hasn’t grown up. So today I’m having my ‘kiddie’ sized portions of
B – Porridge with honey & semi sk milk
L – Ham salad. Pear
D – Chicken Curry, brown rice, cucumber raita.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Don't feel down about staying the same weight or fluctuating a bit, it is much better than mindlessly eating the wrong food and piling on the pounds over a year
I am losing weight atm but in the past if I wasn't in the right frame of mind it would be 4 days being really good then I would fall back into old habits and carry on as normalthen other things would take priority and looking after 'me' went by the wayside as usual.
This year is now or never and I really feel positive being here with like-minded people who can help when we aren't doing the best we 'feel we should be doing' and Ragz is a great team leader :T. Just keep thinking it's a long term lifestyle and the weight will go one way or another if you stick to eating more healthier and do that bit of exercise. If not this week then certainly the next
Anyway
Breakfast: Porridge
Lunch: LF beefy bean bake with sliced potato topping, side salad
Dinner: HM leek & potato soup with HM bread for dunking
Snacks: banana
Drinks: water
I don't eat after 6pm and I used to not get to sleep easily with a full stomach and being a light sleeper I find this helps enormously. Plus the body works at digestion better midday than at night, so they say.
Ooooh and can't wait to get my new scales on Thursday:j
Keep your chin up ladies

Onwards and upwards!!! (OR downwards on the scales) Good luck girls and I hope the hunger monsters keep away from us all and attack a bunch of skinny model types instead. Lol x
