  • Ok, so I maybe cheated and stepped on the scales this morning. It was NOT good. I've gained 8lbs :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Do antibiotics cause fluid retention? As I didn't think it was possible for a person to gain 8lbs of lardiness in 10 days! That would mean I've been eating thousands and thousands of calories a day!
Antibiotics have definitely made me more thirsty - been having about 4l a day.

:eek: Theres no way thats actual weight- its just impossible as it takes 3500 calories to put on a pound- unless that was some death by choc cake you ate :rotfl:

Weight is all over the place this week, originally put on 4lb after my foodie weekend, weighed in this morning and I've lost 3 of those lb's, so weight gain of 1lb this week please ragz.

So tired this week, haven't done as much exercise as I should but have done a lot of sleeping. Usually takes a couple of days to get over a busy time but this time it's really hit home. Also sneezing, sniffling and eyes watering like a good 'un this morning which may account for some of the lethargy. Ah well, no point whinging, onward and upward :)

    B - F&F, sk milk
D - grilled sausage, bacon, tomato, dry-fried egg, mushrooms. Coxes apple form my tree :D
    T - cup of Ailnsley's Moroccan cous cous soup(really good), 2 crackerbread spread w/ff yogurt, 1xVegemite, 1xrf cream cheese & smattering Br@nston
    S - satsuma, nana
    E - none :(

Good luck with the weigh-in everyone :)

I am sulking. I WI yesterday at 11,9 and then this morning I was 11,12! I am blaming this on the fact that I moved the scales yesterday night and can't get them back there right now as I have bits of stripped wallpaper all over the bathroom floor. I got as close as I could but it still sais 11,12. I am NOT happy. I am going to sulk all day - it has already resulted in me eating a mini bag of ginger biscuits and I feel my resolve for the weekend has totally dissapeared. I am going to treat myself to a bottle of wine and sit in the caravan drinking and reading my textbooks!

So 2lb gain on last week puts me 2lb over where I started!

I dont know how this gaining of weigh works. Is it 3500 over the week or day? Must be a week but why does it show up the next day? There is no way last week I ate an extra 10500 calories to gain the weight. I wish I understood the science. Like today i am now 3.5 ibs heavier but have not eaten all those calories. Someone please can you explain?
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

It's really not as simple as 3500cal = 1lb. That is a rough guide but not everyone's bodies work the same.

Most weight changes over a week are just water - a pint of water weighs about a pound so think if you drank more/weed more/ retained water/ate more carbs/are ill etc all these things effect how much water is in your body. Daily weighing will show you how dramatic the changes are, really you have to look at your weight long term (like month to month) to see if you are losing steadily.

It is complex, inexact and very bloody frustrating!

The scales seem to be either our best friend or our worst enemy dont they :(. If i have lost weight im so happy and my resolve is strengthend if I havent then I think sod it :rotfl:and so the circle continues!! Have a :grouphug:

Ive not been great foodwise today:

B: porridge made 1/2 water 1/2 ss milk, banana, tiny squeeze of honey
S: 1 small wholemeal toast and butter
L: large white bap with 25g cheese, lf cheese spread triangle and salad, bag of MrM's salt and vinegar sticks
    S: 5 maltersers :o
T: going out so either indian mixed grill or N*ndos

Exercise I have just done another level 3 shred  and walked 20 mins home after dropping car in for MOT plus another 20mins back to collect car- have also cleaned house from top to bottom (been off work today- took a days hols to sort car!)

So thats at least a million calories I have burnt :rotfl::D

  • Weighed this morning and have lost a whole 1lb:j

That takes me to 19lbs and just one away from my target.

Shattered today - a really lomg day at work and a dog walk resulted in 2 choc digestives just being scoffed - should have just started the tea instead:o
Oh well, its Friday - a whole 7 days to the next weigh in (thankfully).

Better go and cookj something before I eat the rest of the packet.

Well done to the losers and hugs for those that are frustrated by the scales. xx
