  • Has anyone seen my motivation it seems to have gone missing :o I put it down after I got back from swimming on tuesday and I've not been able to find it since

I really need to do some excercise. I've managed to keep within my cals on MFP but I know I loose better when I'm excercising too but I just can't seem to get my bum in gear to do anything :(

Is it just me or does anyone get REALLY nervous when due to get weighed? I have found it hard this week so far as I am used to weighing myself every day but have managed to resist this week and I have been good as gold on the diet and exercise front. Shall have to wait and see what tomorrow brings:o

I'm nervous because I'm worried about not having a loss and giving up. The sensible side of me agrees why this weight needs to go but the stupid side of me is all to quick to give in for an easier life. I'm hoping for a 1lb tomorrow as a boost to get me through the week but some of the choices I have made re: food may out weigh the effort I have put into exercise.

You won't lose every week, so don't beat yourself up about it and accept it now - it will make it easier! Stick with us, keep trying and this time next month that number in your signature will be a lot bigger :D

I have hit quite a few plateaus over the last few months, the worst lasted for 3 weeks. You just have to look to the future. I have always tended to give up at that point in the past, now I realise that if I hang on in there I will lose again. I look at it that every pound counts, and even if I never reach my target weight, it is still much better than being the weight that I was [ie overweight/obese].
I know it is a cliche, but it really is a journey, and it isn't always going to be a straight line from A to B.

(((Hugs)))) Pigsmayfly, well done on your positive outlook, keep being positive it helps.

Today so far been very good...

    B- porriage and a clematine
L- HM Bolagnase with pasta and salad and an apple
D- a large salad with cottage cheese and pasta with a bannana
S-a FF yogurt and a options chocolate

Very pleased with myself as OS with meals, trying to use up all left overs...hence tomato based sauces yesterday and today. Also have had a very large salad bag in the fridge which will now be used up:)
I started on Monday is it ok to weigh on that day or is tommorrow better? Have avoided jumping on and off the scales as I know once a week is best....if I can have the will power:rotfl:

No it isn't just you! To help prepare for the shock of tomorrows weigh-in I had a sneaky peek with my son - only to find I've put back on the 4lb I lost last week & 3lb extra . So an overall gain of 3lb this month even though I've been a lot better with my eating (& wine) & have done more exercise than I have in years....

Really doesn't seem fair, does it? Feeling a bit CBA with it & may go back to wine & chocolate as it appears I may put on less weight :rotfl::rotfl:

I'm hoping the differences are because I rely on others to read the scale for me, including kids who may not be as accurate as I would be, so I've splashed out & bought some talking scales figuring that at least they'll be consistant (& maybe the shock of hearing it out loud will spur me on :D).

Not noticed my clothes getting any looser, & think I'll struggle to do measurements unless I come up with an ingenious idea with colourful markers - & I'm certainly not in the mood to do it today. Feel more like pouring a glass of red (not had a drink since sat) but it is a bit early :rotfl::rotfl:

Quinoa - how much do you use per person, how much water/stock do you cook it in & for how long? I'd like to use it instead of couscous/rice as a side dish but can only find recipes for all-in-one dishes.
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...

I use 1/4 cup of quinoa [just for me], and twice as much water. Always rinse it in a sieve under the tap 1st. I cook it in plain water, simmer with lid on for 15 minutes. When it is done little 'sprouts ' appear.

Yesterday was the start of 'THAT' time of the month, took me by surprise and I've had a grotty couple of days but have been keeping to my regime quite well. I usually put on around 4 lbs in fluid at this time and my hormones are everywhere today :) Should be interesting for tomorrows WI.

    Breakfast: F&F + ss milk
Lunch: soft boiled egg + soldiers
    Dinner: kipper with mash
snack: half an orange , 3 small Fox's biscuits
    water to drink

    Have a good evening
    DC xx
