    Hi everyone

I'd really like to join this challenge. I don't have a lot to lose but I weighed myself at the weekend and was shocked to calculate that I am over a BMI of 25 for the first time in my life .
Sorry about the novel-size story of my life :rotfl: I'll finish up with a note of today's exercise/eating

EDIT just remembered I did have a snack, a small slice of leftover birthday cake :o

    Hello and welcome :)

:rotfl::rotfl:Novel posts are usually what i write :o

Hi everyone , thought I should pop in after years of being away :o
I have struggled for years trying to loose weight , then found out i have a underactive thyroid. Im now on medication and was shocked to loose 10lb last week (and it was my birthday). I power walked over 1 hour a day.
So now Im on week 2 , and Im worried Im going to give up because Ive been feeling hungry the past few days.

    Todays plan

    B: 30g special K & milk

L: 2 light choices sausages and 1 slice of brown bread.
a small peice of dark chocolate.

D: Tesco light choices meal (too exhausted to cooke today) and prepared vegetables

and snack on apples and blackberries.

    1 stone 9lb more to loose :o
    Kindness costs nothing :)

Mrsmanx & Welshwoofer :naughty: shame on you for not learning to cook! I absolutely love cooking, that's the problem! I cook enough for 4 meals, and eat it in 2-3. Always going back for seconds, because my cooking is just THAT good! (not really)

    Today:
    B: crumpets with LS jam
L: tuna salad sandwich, 2 small apples, 1 small banana
D: pasta bolognese and some oatcakes with cheese
    S: chocolate cereal bar

I'm very hungry today, not sure why, feel bloated too. I'm sure I won't be stopping at the above, but will do my best!

Well not 100% happy with my first day...

B: 2 a*da wheat bisks with whole milk (usual breakfast)
S: a banana (yay) and a wee mini crispy cake bite in a meeting - too tempting!
L: HM lentil and veg soup with a slice of HM brown bread
S: ignored my apple in favour of a (very thin) slice of birthday cake :o at least I took it into work as the gannets there munched it and so there's none left for tomorrow! Also when I got home, I found a box of champagne truffles I bought in London at the weekend so had to have one :o
D: steak stir fry (one steak between two of us) with noodles, yellow pepper, HG courgette, mangetout and spring onions, made the sauce from soy sauce, honey, chilli, ground ginger, Japanese vinegar and cornflour. Tasty and healthy!

E: None today except the short walk to work, but it was a planned day off as went climbing yesterday and got an exercise class tomorrow.

Verdict: snacks are definitely my downfall and I'm banning any sweets tomorrow.

Found out that to lose a pound a week, a calorie checker app tells me I'd have to eat only 1150 calories a day if I don't do any exercise  obviously I do regular exercise, but still think this is too steep a goal, and I might need to adjust my target to half a pound a week :( I ate way more calories than that today, and even if you swapped my sweets/cake for my apple, I don't think it would get that low. Will mull it over as I see how this week goes.

    Happy Birthday Savesummore!

Lan2011 - welcomet o the thread, I shall add you to the List.

BlueGreen143 do you want me to change your target to 3/4lb instead? I found 1lb a week hard to sustain, an average of 1/2lb is fine if it means you actually stick to it, you'll have a better chance of reaching your goal slower than by rushing it. Hunger is no good!

MrsManx - loved your post! I iwish my cooking was bad, I bet I would never have put on weight!

Hi I have seen this before- its very interesting!!

There was one episode where a girl ate really really healthy but just far too much and she was about 5 stone over weight and could see what she was doing wrong

Summary of the week so far (diet wise)...................totally rubbish  ate far too much rubbish and done no exercise since Saturday  feel fat, bloated, lazy and generally ick!!!!

Isnt it funny how quickly your body gets used to a healthy life style and how rubbish being 'bad' makes you feel :o

Pinch an inch? Grab a slab more like. Hoping this gym stuff works its magic
    B pain au chocolate
    L cheese sarnie
    S banana
D sausage stew and new spuds
    S strawberries and greek yoghurt
E 20 mins each way walk to the gym, 45 minute work out - soz forgotten who it was asked for the details but here they are: 10 mins cardio on bike; 2 sets adductors with 40 then 45 kg, 2 sets abductors 45kg; 2 sets abdominal curls and back extensions over fit ball, 2 sets 20 shoulder rotations with 1kg (lol), 2 sets leg lowering then full set stretches. I'm to alternate that with rower rather than bike and leg extensions and curls on 25kg rather than adductors /abductors. The idea is i do leg weights i can manage for 10 then build up to 20 at which point i go up 5kg. Shoulder rotations i'll keep at 1kg cos they're building back the flexibility in my rotator cuffs. Am seriously impressed at the increase in flexibility in 2.5 weeks. Planning on alternating these sets mon, tues, thur and fri though will miss mon and tue next week as i'll be in lyon

B: usual all bran and fruit
L: hm lf garlic mushrooms on 1 slice of toast, yoghurt
D: bolognese pasta bake with salad, ? pudding
    S: fruit
Ex: probably just the dog walking today

Mum & Dad are coming today, find it difficult to stick to the plan when they visit as they have a habit of arriving with cream cakes . Have asked them not a bring anytoday as will do a pudding with dinner. In the freezer have a container of frozen berries and 4 scones so thinking of doing a healthier bread and butter pudding type thing, then I can eat the fruit with a little bit of lf custard. wish me luck.

Hope everyone has a good day.
