EllaRose don't go! I have exactly the same issue, but need the support here because it's the best way for me to at least maintain my weight. I lost lots to start with and joined a gym to tone up. I go 4/5 days a week but don't want to join a fitness-type forum because I find them a bit fanatical, and out of my league. Just re-read your post - you've lost 9lb since the last challenge which is a fantastic loss
. I'm sure there comes a time that we sts especially when exercising, and as you said it's turning to muscle. Better that than just sitting back all flabby
I agree with The Dragon. I measure after every challenge, there's only a slight change but I feel so much fitter, brighter, enthusiastic about the things I do.
I hope you rethink, it would be nice to have someone else along who's watching the inches/change of shape0 -
Hi LAM, everyone's welcome here, good to have you on board
. Just read the first post and decide how much you want to lose. Write it in your next post and every Friday weigh day put your loss (or sts, or gain) in RED so ragz can see it clearly when she does the list. There's six weeks left of this challenge, good luck
B - 2 slices Danish, yogurt, marmalade
L - slice Danish, rf cheese humous . Apple
D - Small jacket (bolero) yogurt, rf mayo, prawns, tomato, celery, peppers
S - Melon, nana, satsuma
E - 1 hour gym. Cleaned bedrooms for visitors tomorrow
Have a sunny evening0 -
Thanks sparrer for your kind words. You seem to be doing brilliantly with the exercise and that is an inspiration. And thanks Dragon for the suggestion. Hmm it makes sense to measure for inch-loss/clothes size/six pack size
than keep weighing myself. I guess I just felt pretty pathetic having only lost 2lbs in 5 weeks! Yes I really do think it's turning to muscle - I can actually do full push-ups now
which makes me happier than the 9lbs I lost (although I am pleased with that of course).
I intended to stay on the thread anyway for support, but I just don't want to be included in the regular weigh-ins anymore as I feel its not right for me now, please ragz.0 -
Hi Everyone
I know its really late in the year but I have had a LBM (as I did with my debt over a year ago) and I have found the forums to be really motivational and inspirational.
Please may I join in ?

Ellarose I have exactly the same 'problem' as you I have lost 11lbs since xmas but most of that was probably before the end of may  since then Ive STS or Lost 1 lb or gained 1lb and it blooming frustrating but I have also upped my exercise alot and find measuring a great way to see the benefits of all the hard work
I hope you stick around even if you decide against weighing in every weekO/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -

Evening All
I didn't get on yesterday as I was really busy - looking after DGD and then going out with 5 minutes to spare to an open air Shakespeare play which was brilliant. So happy belated birthday RAGZ.
Today I've been to work and also squeezed in a run beforehand. I was hoping for a walk this evening but there is no answer from my dog walking friend when I tried phoning just now.
B: Poached egg on toast.
L: (Pack up for work) 2 roast chicken drumsticks, vegetable crudites (carrot, cucumber and courgette) with garlic mayonnaise dip and cherry tomatoes.Sole with a lemon and black pepper dusting served with HG green beans and yellow courgette. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt.
Snack: Probably I will have half a small bar (20g) of dark chocolate with a coffee later.
Exercise: 4 mile run. 3 miles of walking.

Ellarose don't bow out now! In honestly think I've gained 2lbs since joining this forum about 6 weeks ago BUT it's the inch loss that matters more. I know it's really disheartening when the scales stay so stubborn, but I like that the forum makes me accountable to more than myself, and that means I haven't gained back the 16lbs I lost before joining in. And the best bit is, this forum is completely free - so what's to lose? (not that I'm trying to keep you here!)
Monday again:
B: 2 crumpets with low sugar jam
L: ham sandwich, small bananaHM chicken Madras (surprisingly LF dish) with rice, 4 breadsticks, a few olives
S: 24cal ice lolly0 -
thanks savesummore and minicooper for the moral support. Like I said I will stick around cos the thread is full of great people who motivate me, but I will no longer partake in the weekly weigh ins (unless I magically shift some lbs
)

EllaRose - great to hear you're hanging around with us:beer:
Done a lot more today than I intended to - the threat of doing schoolwork forced me outside:rotfl:
So, 3 long dog walks done and a 4K run. The run was hard, think it was a combination of not doing any real running for over a week and the heat, but I managed it and am back on the wagon. Have also stuck to the 1200 cals limit today and not eaten any exercise cals.
I think the break has done me good with regards to food and exercise - its given me a bit more motivation to get on with it. Ideally I'd like to lose another 6 or 7 lbs so need to stay on the straight and narrow. I think I may end up joining the inch measurers amongst us as I get nearer my target weight - those last few pounds are always the hardest to budge aren't they?
Had a nice tea of weightwatchers crustless quiche (surprisngly tasty) and a big salad followed by some raspberries and a low fat chocolate mousse. Its actually a relief to be able to choose my own food and eat some fresh F&V. Will hopefully feel less bloated tomorrow, travelling doesn't help the old digestive system if you know what I mean;)0 -
Hi everyone
I'd really like to join this challenge. I don't have a lot to lose but I weighed myself at the weekend and was shocked to calculate that I am over a BMI of 25 for the first time in my life . I was underweight when I was 18 (ate loads but was just skinny) and put on over a stone during the first 3 months of uni (takeaways and booze lol). In the 6 years since then I have gradually put on a few pounds a year and I know it won't stop unless I take things in hand.
I generally eat pretty healthily, cooking everything from scratch and eating a mostly vegetarian diet. I used to be pretty lazy but since January I've managed to stick to exercising 3-4 times a week. In spite of this, I've put on weight since then and I think it's because I haven't tracked what I've been eating and have been hungrier with the exercise. My main downfalls are portion sizes, chocolate/cakes at work and alcohol at the weekends.
I'd like to try and lose around 15 pounds by Christmas to put me safely in the healthy weight range, then ensure that I'm eating in a way that lets me maintain that healthy weight. So if you could put me down for a weight loss of 1 pound week until the end of the challenge I'll try my best to succeed!
Sorry about the novel-size story of my life :rotfl: I'll finish up with a note of today's exercise/eating:
B: skipped the usual cereal and had a couple of olives, an oatcake and butter and a balsamic pickled onion (random, I know) around 11 as I was off work
L: went out for lunch with a friend to a Japanese restaurant - had veggie noodles and a side of veggie gyoza. Japanese food is heathy, right?veggie chilli with rice, a sprinkling of cheese and a couple of tablespoons of Greek yoghurt
No snacks today.
E: Around an hour and a half at the bouldering centre, which I'm currently addicted to (but not very MSE as costs the same to go once a week as I pay for my gym membership )
EDIT just remembered I did have a snack, a small slice of leftover birthday cakePart time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018
