    Evening All

    Well, annoyingly, I have to report a STS. It's annoying as I'd lost a pound earlier in the week but it crept back on again. I was also irritated earlier today by turning up for my stability ball class to find it wasn't running.

    B: Milky coffee
    L: Prawn mayonnaise salad - HG leaves, onion thinnings, cucumber, tomatoes, beetroot and grated carrot.
    D: Fried egg with HM oven chips, mushrooms and tomato. HM chocolate mousse.

    5887202.jpg

    Snack: 3 tsp peanut butter.

    Exercise: 2.5 miles of walking so far and maybe an evening walk shortly as I'm just about to ring my friend.

    Ragz, I'm now 3/14, it's both a gain and a loss this week for me depending on how you look at it, loss from my last weigh in, but 1lb gain from when I last stepped on the scales. I'm not going to grumble too much, it's my heavy week this week.

    B: Toast with spread
    L: chicken tikka sandwich, apple, banana, nectarine
    D: Not decided yet (feel quite sickly with things, so it won't be healthy)

    E: I did force myself into an hour at the gym trying out all my personal training pieces.

    My chicken tikka sandwich was very dry without a tikka mayo on it. Does anyone have any tips for a healthier option?

    Had a try on of my work clothes today to see what I need to get for next term and ta-da..... loads of them are too big!:j
    I found a pair of size 10 trousers and a size 10 pencil skirt suit that I think I've only worn once or twice and they all fit - hurrah!
    I also popped to Mr Ts and tried on a work style dress in a 10 and that fitted too - needed to convince myself that my own clothes haven't stretched:rotfl:Didn't buy it as I wasn't sure about the pattern but the main point is that I could do it up easily and I could put it back because I didn't like it not because it didn't fit:)

    All I need now is to rob a bank to pay for some new clothes!

    Have decided to try to lose 6 more lbs to make it a nice round 20lbs and tone up the still wobbly bits. So I'm still on the wagon.

    Well done everybody, whether you lost or sts, or even gained - at least we're all in the same boat and trying our best :)

    I have lost 1lb this week - just what I gained on holiday, so I'm pleased about that.

    Today -
    B - cereal with a handful of fresh raspberries
    L - small scone, banana
    D - tinned salmon, oven chips, beetroot, 2 tsp light mayo, Solero lolly
    Later - yogurt

    Still need to cut down on portion sizes :o I know I'm too generous with what I put on my plate!
    2025 Fashion on the ration
    150g sock yarn = 3 coupons
    Lined trousers = 6 coupons ...total 9/66 used
    2 t-shirts = 8 coupons
    Trousers = 6 coupons ... total 23/66
    2 cardigans = 10 coupons
    Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 38/66
    Nightie = 6 coupons
    Sandals = 5 coupons ... total 49/66

    I get emails from the Jillian Michaels (Shred woman) website most of which are usually deleted but this one was quite useful.....

    7 Ways to Control Your Appetite

    Don't skip meals. You should be eating three square meals a day, plus one snack, and spacing your meals throughout the day so that you don't go longer than four hours without eating. This will keep your blood sugar levels and hunger hormones stable.
    Drink tons of water. When you feel as if you're starving, pour yourself a huge glass of water or grab a bottle of seltzer — it will help quell the urge to snack.
    Sleep! Two hormones, leptin and ghrelin, regulate our appetite, and both are directly affected by how much sleep we get. These hormones work in a kind of "checks and balances" system to control feelings of hunger and fullness. Getting eight hours of shut-eye each night helps the hormones work properly, which in turn will help curb your appetite.
    Examine your hunger. The next time you feel hungry between meals, consider the last time you ate. If it was less than three to four hours earlier, your stomach isn't growling, and you're not weak or tired, you're probably emotionally unsatisfied in some way rather than genuinely physically hungry.
    Think about what, besides eating, soothes you. Steer yourself toward positive feelings of self-worth and you'll choose activities and behaviors that inherently contradict self-loathing and self-destructiveness.
    Don't panic. You can and will lose weight. Even if you're eating a little more than the meal plan calorie allowance, you can still lose — it just might take a little longer. Exercise is also crucial. Working out harder and more often will help burn the extra calories you might take in if you have a bad day.
    Do not beat yourself up! Sometimes we slip up, and that's okay — healthy living is not an all-or-nothing proposition.

    Fat free yoghurt, or extra light mayo? I think hellmans extra light only has 15 calories per tbsp.

    It depends on your self control I suppose. Studies have shown that if people restrict calories drastically they will eat more (without realising) in the following days. Most studies were done on longer time periods though so it may be possible to do it for two days without triggering the need to take on more calories after.

    I would try it but I could never manage two days and also it would really confuse the children (I like sitting down to eat as a family).

    Generally speaking though I feel it is better to eat better overall than go on/off on/off with food intake, surely that's disruptive? On the other hand there is of course an argument for such a diet being more natural as we would have had periods of fast before finding more food when we were hunter gatherers.
