Not logging my weight at the moment as it is hurtling up in the heat - I didn't eat for two days (ill in bed) and put ON 6 pounds!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Dragon - I think when you are ill and dont eat your body goes into shock and retains water. Get well soon. x

    So far today:

B -Poached egg on toast (no butter)
L - small porton cooked rice with small slice shredded roast beef. Yoghurt.
D - Was planning to have hot and spicy pork steak with wedges and salad, but really dont fancy it at the moment and as I seem to have some sort of gastric bug/upset I'm not sure hot & spicy is a good idea ;)

Havent had any snacks so far, staying away from fruit and just drinking lots of water.

    Exercise - unlikely ;)

Hello everyone - do you mind if I join you? I normally post on the "Make Do and Mend" (a.k.a. "Toughies") thread but my expanding girth has led me here too...

I'm not sure where to begin or what to say. I have been getting increasingly unhappy with my weight over recent months and I think it's time I put the brakes on and started doing something positive to lose some of my excess weight. I think I have about 5st to lose overall, but tbh I'd be happy just to see the scales going in the opposite direction for once.

I have tried WW in the past, and succeeded (although obviously not in the long term, or I wouldn't be typing this now) and I've been wondering about starting it up again.

I am fairly active in my daily life outside work, which is office based and largely sedentary - I enjoy gardening and walking daily, but probably don't do enough strenuous exercise to help with weight loss. I do have one or two DVDs and an exercise bike which I ought to dust off though...! I love swimming, but at £5 a go at our local pool it's not really a viable option right now.

Food wise, I cook from scratch probably 99% of the time, and have a DH and two growing DDs to cater for as well. I am not going down the lonely route of cooking myself separate food so whatever I cook will have to suit us all.

Oh, and we're on a tight budget as well - DH is about to be made redundant so the financial future is looking very uncertain as we shall have to manage on just my salary income wise (although I understand DH will get some JSA-type payments in the short term). I try to stick to a weekly budget of £60 for food and household groceries.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

    Evie xx

  • Hi there - can I join too (pleese?)?

Like Evie Ive got abot 5st to lose and have tried WW and SW in the past and been successful (at the time), but have now got to a point where I know I need to do something, but just cannot justify the cost of a class. Ive registered on My Fitness Pal in the past, so really need to start logging my menus again. Im off to investigate the recipes at the beginning of the thread now.... wish me luck!

    Welcome to the newbies!

Managed to be much healthier today after the excesses of last night

B - Granola bar with red berries
    L - Ham sandwich
D - HM chicken and vegetable soup
    S - Grapes

Have managed to get in a level 1 30DS too, so hopefully that should help to combat some of last night's naughtiness.

    Hi to the newbies!

My day was going well to plan, although I need to add some flat breads to my snacks, but I'm taking off dinner... I keep getting quite an acidy, bloated feeling stomach these days, but today I'm getting a migraine to boot. Early night for me I think!

Not a bad day today - only snack was a small packet of Frazzles (113 cals) factored into the cal allowance and plenty of exercise - I actually felt physically tired after it all this afternoon - probably something to do with the lack of sleep due to watching the Olympic thingy last night.

I'm going food shopping tomorrow and am just about to write a list of things to buy - I'm trying to economise before the hols too so it will be an interesting (and probably long) shopping trip.
