    Evening All

It's been a glorious day here today and I had to spend 6 hours of it indoors at work! I normally work evenings but with the holidays here I was doing an afternoon shift. Still, I managed a run earlier this morning and I've just had an hour on the patio with a book this evening. I'm not at work again till Friday so should be able to enjoy the sunshine that is forecast for the rest of the week.

B: (A bit higher carb than normal in readiness for my run) Muesli with extra nuts and seeds and sprinkled with a cherry and berry mix
L: (Pack up at work) Chicken leg, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and HM coleslaw. Strawberries.
D: Pork (left over from Sunday joint) in a creme fraiche and mushroom sauce with grated courgette, peas and carrots. HM chocolate mousse.

Exercise: 4 mile run/walk (3 min: 1 min ratio). About 3 miles of walking.

I'm the same in being all warm and red faced for aaages after workouts. Whilst it's embarrasing, it's all good because I've just read it's a sign of an increased metabolism (apparently!) :)
  • Hello old friends and new

After falling off and losing the entire wagon, i have just seen some photos taken over the weekend and am aghast at myself!

I have put on about 5lbs since i last reported in so am currently 154lb  need to get to the all-elusive 140 lbs so still aiming for this. Warm weather always helps motivate me as i can't wear my sleeveless tops due to bingo wings. Its really amazing how quickly you lose muscle if you don't keep up the exercise.

    Anyway, enough rambling!

    Food today:
    B: banana, yogurt and coffee
    S: necterine
L: all bran with milk, banana
    S: necterine
D: peanut butter sandwich, 1 mango

Reading that back, its not very nutritionally sound! Will have to do better tomorrow. :A

What a long week that's been! Oh wait, it's only Monday? :rotfl: What a busy bumble bee I've been at work today.

B: Cereal with yoghurt, a banana and a kiwi
L: (I think I remember eating this!) Ham and cream cheese salad sandwich, 2 satsumas, small handful of grapes
D: Pasta with some chorizo, veggies and pesto sauce and some olives
S: 3 flat bread slices, a couple of breadsticks, 3 small chocolate truffles, a punnet of raspberries

E: 1hr at the gym, broken air con means you didn't even have to do anything to break out in a sweat!

It doesn't look all that bad written down, but I did have a massive tea trying to use up some food that's going to go off soon.

Can any of you guys who are just back from Wales recommend somewhere to go, and a cheap-ish hotel? We've just done the maths and an abroad holiday is too expensive, so looking at somewhere closer to home! Tough job finding somewhere mutual as I'm travelling from East Anglia and he's in central belt Scotland.

well I got on the scales this morning (yes I know its naughty) and after a whole weekend of sticking to plan and lots of walking I've put on 1lb :( I have increased my fluid (water !!!)intake in a bid to stop my body retaining water in the heat as my feet often swell up. My feet havent swollen so far, and I dont feel bloated, but I wonder if I could be retaining water ? Will try not to weigh again until Friday

If you really are sticking to the plan I wouldn't worry about the one pound yet. Really that is nothing, it is less than a good poo! You've been walking a lot, have you put on muscle? Putting on muscle makes your weight go up temporarily but you loose it quicker in the long run. Could be water retention, or just you still have more food left inside your tummy, could be the scales were sitting differently on the floor.

    Morning, All

Is there a "confession cough smiley"?

Yesterday, I had EVERY intention of sticking to my plan and being good, but my neighbour offered me lunch outside (french bread, cheeses, ham, wine), and then, after spending hours gardening (8 large sacks to the tip), I sat with a book and a very large whisky & coke, and relaxed. Well, I am on holiday, I s'pose :o

So, today, then? Well, I still have the fish fingers to use up...so....

Brunch - fish finger & baked bean sarnie :T
    Early dinner - macaroni cheese

Almost but not quite emptied the freezer, and really looking forward to stocking up again at the end of the week. When I finally go shopping, there'll also be loads of fruit & vege/salad stuff in my basket. Starting to crave them now.:A

Hope you don't have the drizzle that we have here today. If you do have sunshine, can you please spare some for little old me? :rotfl:

    Have a lovely day.

    LB xx

  • Morning all and hello to the newbies.

Havn't posted for a few days, stuck to my plan Saturday and most of Sunday. We then decided on a take away on Sunday night after 3 long busy work days. I chose something quite healthy that would more or less fit in with my calorie goal and only ate a small portion. I was so chuffed with myself. Then boy did me and OH suffer for it, we were both unwell with funny tummy's overnight and throu yesterday!

Think the diet gods were saying ' you should not have eaten that!':rotfl:

    So back on plan today.
    B: allbran and strawberies
L: jacket potato, salad, with a filling (not decided yet)
D: chicken stirfry, noodles and lots of veg
    S: fruit
Exercise: Just dog walking today as still a little fragile

I start the first of my night shifts tonight, often find the healthy eating difficult to stick too, but I'm determined after the weekend mishap for it not to happen again. So onwards and upwards, well hopefully downwards calorie wise.:rotfl:
