Thanks for the advice everyone. The problem with me is I am trying to kick my sugar addiction, so feeding it with sweet or dried fruit just makes it worse. I can have NO sugary things and be fine, but once i have one it's like the devil takes over! I think I just need to become aware of this, recognise it happening and FIGHT it! Today I had two tiny bites of chocolate brownie as someone brought them into toddler group, really made me hungry! I managed not to binge on sugary stuff but I did eat more in general than I would have otherwise.
I like really dark chocolate and find that satisfies the craving for chocolate without triggering sugar pangs, if I have it in the house I will eat that but it's avoiding the things I get offered elsewhere that's the trouble.
Ooh Ragz I feel your pain…..I don’t know if I can offer any kind of consolation as I now don’t have what would be considered sugar cravings and I’m now able to say NO and avoid what I call artificial sugars and go more for natural (fruit) sugars.
Believe me I have done the sugar binges in the past (big-time) I have been known to sit and eat spoonful by spoonful a whole tin of condensed milk   – almost to the point where I was gagging with concentrated sweetness of it and yes there have been days along with a cup of tea a whole pkt of chocolate digestives or ginger nuts have just disappeared one by one.
There are certain things I can now have in the house without feeling the need to consume them all at once, but there are things I know I need to avoid – so just don’t buy them. I don’t eat puddings as a rule unless I go out for a meal and think of it as a treat, for other things like porridge, yoghurts etc I tend to use honey or fruit – but I know that you are doing that already - it is probably as you say willpower and avoidance for a while then you WILL get to the point where you can say “No Thank You” when offered a cake or chocolate.
Chin up, you will get there.Hello everyone!
Exercise - sofa surfing since arriving home from work...and I didn't fall off once!

Mornings!:j
Nearly week off time :j
Got to be quick this morning as I had an extra snooze...am practising for next week :rotfl:
Yesterday was another good as gold day - 3rd day in a row:T
Today's plan is -
Brekkie - hm muesli
Lunch - chicken, tortilla wraps, and a little mayonaise
Dinner - I think what I chiselled off the freezer shelf is oxtail casserole. I'll have that with carrots, broccoli and baked potato.
I certainly sympathise about the sugar scenario. I, too, have to make sure I don't buy any or I'll binge on chocolate, biscuits etc and hate myself. Funnily enough, I have no problem saying "no thanks" if offered anything, it's just when I'm on my own that I have a problem.
Have a lovely Thursday!

Morning all
Confession - last night I had 2 fig rolls and a jaffa cake. Don't feel guilty at all (well not much), I enjoyed every crumb
msmanx loved the sofa surfing, I do it too, seems quite a lot of us do but didn't know it had an official name. It could become a national sport - watch out Olympics, here comes the MSE OSWL SS Team!
ragz I empathise, while sugar isn't my problem, cheese definitely is. I cut my (rf) cheese into small squares and freeze the but can't help but take two out instead of the one I need for a particular dish. Yesterday when I shopped I stood for a full 2/3 mins staring at the cheese shelves before putting a wedge of rf Brie in the trolley. Will be interesting to see if it's as good as full fat, I hope not so it will put me off buying it again
B - mashed nana in ff yogurt
D - veggie omelette. Apple
T - Cup of Ainsley's brocccoli & stilton soup, quite nice but hm is def better. It was on offer though, which helps. 2 Crackerbread w/marmite, raspberry jam
S - plums, melon, nana, orange
E - 45 mins gym. Might ask to increase to an hour at the next review, it's two weeks away yet but I always want to run before I can walk!
Have a great day whatever the weather0 -
Pouring here again now:mad:
Walked the dogs but need to do the Couch to 5K week 3 run today to stay on track. I'm going out to a comedy night tonight that includes a curry or veg chilli - as I can't control the cals in that I'll have to be very good today to make sure I don't go over board tonight - I am driving so will drink diet coke.
Still loving myfitnesspal - finding it a good motivator.
With regards to sugar binges, my problem is crisps, I can eat a sharing packet in about 10 mins and a normal sized bag is just not enough. I'm trying not to buy them at all as I have no willpower when it comes to them.
Right, need to get busy as sitting here watching Jeremy Kyle and faffing on the web for 6 weeks is not a good idea!0 -
Morning all
I read a suggestion for when chocolate cravings get too much. Freeze a bag of malt-ez-ers and when you get the craving get one (YES ONE !!!) out of freezer and pop in mouth, because its frozen it lasts longer before it melts in the mouth and you cant just scoff the whole bag full in 10 seconds (like I normally do)
My plans for today
exercise - I am still mooching around in my dressing gown.Have done 2 loads of washing on line so hoping for an hour of sun to get it dry but we have got showers forecast today. Am going to get shwer in minute and go for a walk, then ironing and gardening to do. Would like to cut grass later if it stays dry as its looking like a wildflower meadow at present
Breakfast - bacon, egg, beans, toast (no butter)
Lunch - home made veg soup
Dinner - Lamb rogan josh, rice. Lf natural yoghurt. glass skimmed milk
Snacks - satsumas, nectarine, apple

Just finished the Couch to 5K week 3 run - it was actually easier than I thought it would be - not really easy but doable.
Still feel up to doing a bit of stomach work (no, not eating cakes!) so will get the 10 min abs solutions DVD out in a minute
Its finally stopped raining so after lunch I'll walk the dogs to Pets at Home to pick up some food for them. Will have to take a rucksack to lug it all back, its about an hour round trip to walk:eek: - think of the cals burnt!0 -

Completely not weight loss - but thankyou for all the good wishes for the job interview last Sunday - I've only gone and landed the job!
WHAYAYAYAYAY!
It must certainly be down to your positivity because I really fouled up the interview, so thankyou very very much.
I've just eaten a bag of crisps to celebrate0 -
