Afternoon all!
I've finished work for almost 7 weeks today :j:j:j The good side of being a teacher.
Went to Blackpool yesterday on a school trip and resisited the fish and chips but did have one and a half donuts at the funfair:o Was good for the rest of the day so hopefully its not done too much damage. I've noticed a few naughty treats slipping back into the day so I'll have to cut that out - it will be easier now I'm off work (all the treats seem to be scoffed at work).
Today has been ok apart from a few chocs scoffed at work (see what I mean!) - I've counted them in my cal allowance ( thank you myfitnesspal!) and will compensate by having a low cal tea and doing some extra exercise.
Today's food....
Breakfast - Nature valley bar
Treats - few chocs
Lunch (late) - wrap with quorn ham and spinach
Tea - quorn chicken, spinach, cucumber, tomato, beetroot and picked cabbage, maybe a babybel if the cals can stretch that far
Evening - strawberries
Exercise - taken dogs for a brisk 45 min walk round the water park and nature reserve and am just about to go swimming, will try to at least 50 lengths again to keep on track with the swimming challenge.
I'll have no excuse for exercise now I'm on hols ......:o0 -

I'd walked over to Mr A's at lunchtime to get some teabags, and slipped some chocolate into my basket . Got to the checkout and handed the chocolate to the assistant, and said "I don't need this, thanks".
Well done LB :T I think the little devil in me would have said "I dont need this ....but I waaant it
LittleMoog have a great time camping hope the weather is kind
I managed to stick to plan today so far
B - poached egg on toast (no butter)
L - left over lemon chicken and cous cous from dinner last night. 2 x satsuma
D - sausage and veg pasta bake. lf yoghurt
Snacks - banana, nectarine
Exercise. Did manage 20 mins last night as it was a pleasant evening, but have had a carp day at work and its raining here and so I will try and do 20 mins on treadmill tonight. Evening All
Thanks for the nice comment about my meals Lavender Bees. I really enjoy cooking and like thinking of different things I can cook.
Sorry to hear of your ' chocolate lapse' Ragz. I find not having anything tempting in the house helps. Another ploy if you are craving chocolate is to plan some into your meals - I find my HM dark chocolate mousse really helps and it is very low in sugar. I make lots of tiny portions so it's just a couple of spoonfuls really but feels very decadent.
B: Omelette filled with mushrooms and crispy onions. I usually use one large egg but only had small eggs today so used 2 and found it was really too filling. I ate the last few mouthfuls knowing I didn't really need them.
L: I was still full by lunchtime so just had a portion of raspberries with Greek yoghurt.HM smoked fish pancake with HG salad leaves, cucumber and mixed nuts and seeds.
Exercise: 4 mile run/walk (3 min: 2 min ratio). 5 miles walk.

Hello All
Well last night gave in to the chocolate craving and had a small treatsize twix. Managed to resist the rest of the pack but felt so guilty about it. Now, that I've read everybody's comments on here, I'm not going to anymore. GUILT is such an unhelpful emotion.
I didn't put this weight on overnight and the only way I'm going to lose it and keep it off is to slowly change my eating habits and take more exercise. It will be impossible and very sad if I didn't ever eat chocolate again, (I love chocolate) and life is just too short not to have it. A little bit occassionally or a blow out is not going to change the bigger picture or my overall goal. It just may mean I get there a little slower.
So BIG thankyou's to everyone for their honesty and support on the forum today, you brought the smile back to my face.:)
Today:
B: all bran, kiwi, pineapple
L: l/o hm cury & rice again (forgot to freeze the extras)hm sw chips, beans and cheese with a bread roll
This is my favourite and I have it usually every 6ish weeks when hubby is in late shift, not the healthiest but I have reduced my portion size.
S: nana, apple, 1 digestive biscuit
Ex: 70 mins of dog walking
Wishing everyone a guilt free night.

Savesummore - that happened to me too - I didn't appear to be losing much weight but clothes fitted better and wobbly bits firmed up - put it down to muscle replacing fat - a pound of muscle weighs the same as a pound of fat so it won't necessarily show on the scales but it will make a difference to your shape (which is more important for me) and you WILL be healthier.:)
Just back from the pool, thought about giving up at about 25 lengths but got my second wind and managed 50 - it did help that there was a very fit bloke (read gorgeous) in the same lane that swam at the same pace as me - I was almost chasing him (I'm a swim stalker!):rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Relly well done! :j:beer:Weight is just one aspect of what I think we're trying to achieve - reasonable balance of healthy eating and exercise. We tend to focus on the weight but that to me is probably the least important aspect. Chuffed to bits for you:T

Thanks for the advice everyone. The problem with me is I am trying to kick my sugar addiction, so feeding it with sweet or dried fruit just makes it worse. I can have NO sugary things and be fine, but once i have one it's like the devil takes over! I think I just need to become aware of this, recognise it happening and FIGHT it! Today I had two tiny bites of chocolate brownie as someone brought them into toddler group, really made me hungry! I managed not to binge on sugary stuff but I did eat more in general than I would have otherwise.
I like really dark chocolate and find that satisfies the craving for chocolate without triggering sugar pangs, if I have it in the house I will eat that but it's avoiding the things I get offered elsewhere that's the trouble.
Unfortunately having 3 children there are always treats around that I shouldn't have (mostly supplied by MIL I must add!) and I have willpower issues. I really wish I could bake them cakes or flapjacks and not be compelled to binge on them myself. Perhaps one day I will have kicked the sugar habit enough to be able to do this.
Rosewood - can you post your mousse recipe again please, I can't find it I am sure you did post it before?
Dinner today was chunky beef chili (braising steak, kidney beans, tinned tomatoes, butternut squash, onion and peppers plus herbs/spices etc) which was lovely with a bit of greek yogurt stirred in. Very satisfying.
Lunch I had cheesey leek and cauliflower soup followed by peanut butter (far too much, as I was overeating after brownies I think, also didn't have any protein with my lunch which I really should have done).
Breakfast was a milky coffee and spoonful of peanut butter as I was rushing out to do toddler group.
Have also had several bowls of greek yogurt with dessicated coconut stirred in (very nice).
Mmmm fit swimmers, I gave up swimming as it was a long way to go (half hour drive) and I could only fit it in in the evenings when I am often too tired so the cost of membership wasn't justifiable at the moment. They are building a pool much nearer but it will be a few years I think!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Recipe for Dark Chocolate Mousse (Low Carb)
1 large bar of dark chocolate (I used Lidl's 74% Cocoa Solids)
1 pot of double cream (300 ml)
1 egg
Knob of butter
Small spoonful of instant coffee (I use Gold Blend)
Heat cream till nearly boiling. Stir in coffee, butter and chocolate (broken into pieces). When all chocolate is melted and cream is cooler, whisk in egg. Refrigerate and then eat - you only need a tiny helping to be satisfying so it lasts ages and gets more solid the longer you leave it.
Here you are RAGZ I made some more of this earlier today and I made 9 tiny portions, so not too calorific at all I don't think, although as I am trying to cut carbs I don't tend to count calories at the moment. I find I eat less if I make it in separate tiny containers than if I make one big bowlful and take a portion out. You can guess how I know!
