Morning Folks and welcome Skint yet Again
Well Done Sparrer for hitting your target :T
Busy day in the garden yesterday, finally managed to the grass cut, but the muscles in my rear are complaining a bit today what with all the bending up and down , but if I can get the Gluts in shape all the better – no pain no gain…..right.
Unfortunately it’s chucking it down again today, exercise will be the Shred, kinda got out of the habit of doing it daily so really have to be a bit stricter with myself.
Today’s Menu =
B – Porridge drizzled with honey
L – Tinned Salmon Sandwich
D – Turkey Burgers (no bun), Salad & ChutneyJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £103.530 -
Morning all - a little victory this morning - I tried on the jeans that were very snug a few weeks ago and now they fit well, may even be a little generous in a few places (not too big yet though;)). It made my day after having a day yesterday that found me wanting to eat absolutely everything in sight. I didn't do too badly but did have a few low cal snacks that I didn't really need.
I have renewed enthusiasm today though.
Just spent ages in Mr S looking at labels and ingredients and cals - only bought 1 treat and that's under 300 cals.
Made a discovery that tinned spaghetti is much lower in cals than beans - as its the sauce I like rather than the beans I've opted to try this as a change. Also a small tin of plum tomaties is only around 40 cals - good for having on toast as a low cal lunch.
Today's food will be....
Breakfast - cereal bar (120cals)
Lunch - fake turkey rashers (60 cals), plum tomatoes (45 cals), 1 piece of wholewheat toast (145 cals)
Snack- packet of baked Oddities (yummy and 137 cals)
Total so far .....507 cals
Tea - not sure yet but I have a nice M&S Count on Us butternut squash lasagne in the fridge thats looking like the winner so far!
ETA - Had M&S giant ravioli 345 cals, spinach, cucmber, beetroot and pickled cabbge (about 50 cals).
Strawberries 50 cals, chocolate mousse (85 cals)
Total cals so far = 1037, room for a treat!
Exercise - if the rain holds off I'll try the start of week 2 of the Couch to 5K running program. Wish me luck! DONE0 -
Thanks for your good wishes everyone, and a confession - yesterday I was so chuffed with myself I had a doorstep of hm bread with real butter and hm raspberry jam. It was soooo . Had to defrost the bread and butter first but it was worth the wait!
Welcome Skint :hello: great to see you over here. As savesummore said, you'll have a head start if you get on board now. Good for you giving this forum a go, there's no pressure from anyone, just loads of encouragement and some great ideas. Have you read the first couple of posts? You'll find lots of useful info there.
Welsh Woofer that's a super feeling, isn't it? When I dropped a size I had to look at the label on the trousers to make sure it had really happened
Watermelon the soup looks perfect for today's weather, thick, hearty and warming. Horrid to think I'm saying that in July, isn't it?
Welcome back EllaRose
B - spicy, fruity porridge
D - chicken & veg curry with fusilli. Sugar free jelly with rf squirty cream
T - 3 crackerbread spread w/ ff yogurt, 1xmarmite, 1xprawns, 1xraspberry jam

E - No gym today as had to attend a meeting so 4 x 10 mins step/stretch/weights at home

In case anyone, like me, is struggling to think up something different but healthy to eat – In Sainsbobs magazine there is a Get Bikini Ready diet, with some lovely looking & sounding meals – OK as with many diet plans there are some out of the ordinary/expensive ingredients but all of the recipes are to serve one or two and calorie counted, breakfasts and lunches 300cals or less, suppers 400cals or less.
I will definitely be trying some of them in my menu plan :TJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £103.530 -
It is definitely nice and warming on a cold and wet day lol. On hot days all I ever want is salad or something else cold!
Todays meal plan:
B - Porridge & glass of OJ
L - Soup
D - Fish cakes & chips
Snacks: maybe some fruit.
Exercise, if my back allows will hopefully be three 10 minute sessions on the Wii Tennis again.
It's half two and we've only just got up due to a late night. So all our meals are a few hours behind today.Just about to have breakfast, no idea what time dinner will end up being!
I'm skipping my pre-breakfast Wii session because my backs a little bit delicate, but i'll try and slot it in somewhere else in the day to make up for itTotal Weight Loss Progress = -17lbs

Afternoon All
It's been a busy day as we had a minor panic just before lunch was ready when DH realised all the fish in his tropical fish tank were at the surface gasping! He's done various water changes, even though it was only done yesterday, and we've had a mad dash to our nearest city (60 mile round trip) to buy various bits and pieces. We've just got back with enough time for me to sit down with a coffee before I shoot off to work.
B: Scrambled eggs.
L: Grilled chicken with mashed swede and creamed spinach cooked with mushrooms, garlic and onion.
T: (To take to work) Tomato and basil soup. Salted cashew nuts.
Exercise: 30 minutes of Ripped in 30 DVD - Level 2. Walk to local shops this morning and walk to work shortly.

Just back from week 2 run of Couch to 5K - its getting harder!
Was panting like a dog by the end and swearing at the man on the ipod but I finished it:j
If the weather holds I'm off on an 8 mile hike tomorrow:eek: never done a proper one before. Its with a walking group, some of which are "professional walkers" - gulp! I may be an inch shorter by tomorrow evening.:o Think of the calories burnt....0 -
Thank you for the warm welcome
WelshWoofer well done, I am in awe. Good luck for your hike tomorrow, hope the weather is kind.
Its been raining all day here. Made some veg soup for lunch. Rain stopped about 5.30 and so I managed a 30 minute power walk, with a 5 minute stop to admire the tiny ducklings on our local pond. Having done no exercise for a longtime due to back problems I was quite pleased, but I'm sure it will get harder before it gets easier.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

Rain seems to be holding off for now so I'm off on the walk (bit nervous, daft isn't it!?)
Just walked the dog in the park and about to make a packed lunch to keep me going.....
Food today will be...
Breakfast - cereal bar
Lunch - wholewheat pitta bread with quorn, spinach and cucumber, pack of Oddities, satsuma
Tea - think it will be a cauliflower cheese (M&S, won't feel like cooking afterwards) and some fake ham
Right, wish me luck!0 -
Morning all
Belated good luck Welsh Woofer, I hope it's dryer where you are, it's been coming down in torrents since I got up this morning and no sign of letting up today. The Olympic Torch is coming through this morning but sadly it's so wet I, and no doubt lots of others, can't stand in the cold and wet for risk of chest infection so I'm really disappointed not to see it as it may be the only chance I'll get. On the bright side I'm able to look at the vid's on utube, thank goodness for the media we have these days
B - Egg and hm soldiers. A hm bread slice is so big that I had three just buttered with the egg and three with marmalade afterwards
D - Pork loin, baked red pepper, red onion, parsnip, steamed green beans, carrot, petit pois, leek, hm gravy
T - usual 3 crackers w/marmite, prawns, raspberry jam
S - Nectarine, pear, apple, grapes, nana
E - 3x10mins step/weights. Lots of jigging around to the radio while doing the housework
Have a sunny day whatever the weather, stay safe and dry0
