STS again to report
The good news is my blood pressure is coming down bit by bit from when I started it was 150/110 it is now 120/89
I am doing the weight loss for health reasons so this is good, just need to lose some more so the cholesterol comes down.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -
Just done second session of the 30 day Shred - not as bad as I imagined, I probably could have done it yesterday, didn't notice my sore muscles while doing it, they only seem to hurt when I do normal things like sitting or going down stairs! I am sweating buckets and very red, but feeling chuffed with myself. I need lighter weights though, my 1.5kg are a little too much after a while!
I have been recommending it to people though, it it's a great workout, I like the system of 3 minutes strengths, 2 cardio and 1 abs, repeated 3 times. It's just enough! I have never seen that Jillian before but I am quite liking her... good coaching, very tough!The_Dragon wrote: »weighed myself everyday and each day I have put more weight on - hence getting my thyroid checked out againJune Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Thanks for the tips :-), I have six cats & a Rottweiler so pet food goes fast here. Funnily though it's cheaper to feed my dog than my cats. It costs £10 a fortnight to feed the cats alone.
We do have aldi and lidl but don't drive so are stuck with what we can order online.
I thought about batch cooking but we have low freezer space, I might look at the lentils idea though. I buy frozen veg, the only fresh I buy is salad veg. I definitely want to start making my own soup!
I did a weigh in yesterday & I had lost 0.2 of a lb, I'm putting it down to new scales lolTotal Weight Loss Progress = -17lbs

I'm another one who fluctuates. Yesterday I was 10 stones 4 [after swimming, so maybe dehydrated]. This morning I was 10 stones 7. I have gone with the 2nd, as it is my usual WI time. It was tempting to say I had lost 4 pounds instead of 1 though
I also rechecked my height and I am now 5 foot 4 [which I was when I was younger], instead of 5 foot 3. I guess all the exercise I have been doing has straightened my spine and improved my postureAnyway my BMI is now just over 25, which means I only have another pound to go before I am officially a normal weight :T. So now I am going all out this week to achieve that.

You can grow some salad veg really easily in pots, if you have some outside space? Last year I grew rocket, spring onions and radishes, and they all turned out really well.
If you look for a leafy salad mix of seeds like this, you can just harvest with scissors as you need them, and they keep growing. I had 3 pots of rocket sown about a week apart and had a constant supply for 2 months for the price of the seeds (about £2!) If you don't have any pots etc, put a request on freecycle, lots of people have spares kicking about, my shed is full of them. DH would love it if I got rid of some of them as the weather's been so rubbish I haven't planted much this year!
When we only had a small freezer I kept it full of basic meat ingredients bought on offer. I still batch cooked, but we put leftovers in the fridge and ate them 2/3 days later.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Evening All
I've just finished watching 'The Men Who Made Us Fat' on BBC 2. I knew the current thinking was leaning more to thinking sugar is bad for us and away from fat but this really reinforced it. Did anyone else watch it? It was part I of a 3 part series.
B: Muesli and sultanas
L: Egg salad - with rocket, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, pickled beetroot and coleslaw. Strawberry fromage frais.Sole with a lemon and pepper dusting, spinach creamed with mushrooms, onions and garlic, broccoli, new potatoes and butter. HG stewed gooseberries with Greek yoghurt.
Exercise: 1 hour Pilates, running up and down the garden with DGD and a ball for 15 minutes, 30 lengths of the swimming pool and a 6 mile walk, plus walking to class and back this morning which is another mile or so.

I watched 'The men who made us fat' it was really good and I totally believe what they have to say- its all about profit above people
I also read a good book called 'sugar blues'. Time and time again they relate illness and excess weight to sugar. Although I dont believe that eating too much processed fat is good for you eitherO/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)0 -

HM soup really is a saviour for the OS money saver, you can bung in any old veg, especially if its going off, its saved me a fortune on work lunches as well as being very healthy. The only problem is it gets pretty boring, and sometimes you want a meal with a 'bite' to it. I guess you can always add some pasta to it.0 -
