I'm making my excuses for tomorrow. I'm leaving early to go to Legoland for when it opens, so will not be WI in the mad rush before we go. We will be there all day and won't get home till late.

It is half term this week and I'm going to give it a miss. And will report in next friday.

    Hi all :hello: :):)

I'm back from my lovely holiday in the Middle East and wow, there's a lot to catch up on in this thread! I felt so well rested, going back to work was a shocker! :p

Weight-wise, I was a bit lax on hols due to the amazing mezze everywhere, but at least I ate plenty of veggies and did plenty of sight seeing. I actually got a tummy bug towards the end, which means (in a not very healthy way) I didn't put on any weight.

Although going back to the gym after not working out for 2 weeks was bloody hard work! I definitely got flabbier, so its time to focus on that.

Unfortunately the gym last night was packed - I'm assuming its those last minute, oh-crap-its-nearly-summer people who simply work out before they go on holiday, which is a right pain in the !!!! for those of us who work out regularly.

Anyway, its good to be back! Can't say I'm looking forward to the WI tomorrow though... :)
    :)

    Evening All

I'm back babysitting at DGD's tonight so can't get any of the jobs done that are piling up at home. My mother is coming to stay for the weekend tomorrow and I've work again so I am going to be rather busy in the morning!!

    B: Muesli with extra sultanas
L: (At work) Prawn salad wrap. Diced melon.
D: Boiled egg and slice of toast and butter.
Snacks: 1/2 small bar of dark chocolate. Piece of DGD's Easter egg and 3 mintoes.

Exercise: Very little - just a walk to work.

I'd be really interested in joining please :) Currently weigh 12st on the nose, I have lost about 12lbs through a local slimming club but my weight has hovered around for about 3 months (and it's still costing me £5 a week) so I decided to give that up and get back to the good old fashioned diet and exercise technique.

I'm pretty good at cooking from scratch, I need to address portion sizes though, and get myself out and about more. I do need a bit of motivation on this though, and that's where I'm hoping you lot come in :)

    Welcome minicooper

I think a lot of us have tried clubs, personally I used to begrudge having to pay for something I couldn't attend every week for whatever reason. The support and encouragement here is equally as good, if not better, and it's free! :T

Can't give any advice as I struggle at times but re the meal sizes, some of us eat from a tea plate using a cake fork and teaspoon, or a toddler set of cutlery. It felt very odd at first but after a few days I don't know how I coped with a whole dinner plate full of food.

Do read posts one and two to see how this works, and if you want to set a target for each challenge just post it here and the wonderful ragz will add you to the list.

    Good luck :)

    Morning Everyone,

    Welcome back EllaRose.

Welcome aboard minicooper272, I agree with Sparrer regarding a smaller plate, I am using an 8inch one but haven’t yet gone as far as using toddler’s cutlery :rotfl:, to be honest I hadn't thought of it. I tend to use the size of my fist as a measuring gauge for protein and carb portions – which means half of my plate contains veg/salad, a quarter of it for protein and a quarter for rice, pasta, etc.

Well I got a bit of a surprise when I stepped on the scales this morning. The ½lb that went on through overindulgence last weekend has come off and taken another ½lb with it so technically I have lost 1lb this week but in terms of the challenge it’s only ½lb, sorry if it’s a long-winded way of saying - it’s another STS week for me .

    Yesterday’s meals consisted of –
    B – Boiled Egg, Oatcake
    L – Crackers & Pate, tomato
D – Creamy Baked Onions, grilled bacon & green beans
    S – Strawberries, 2 x Digestive Biscuits
    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £119.54
    Aug - Grocery spends = £16.93
