    Evening All

I'm really cross as I've come down with a cold - just when it is gorgeous weather. I wasn't too bad this morning but have got steadily worse as the day progressed. I've just had a hot steamy bath which has helped a bit and am now going to go and read in bed and let DH bring me drinks.

    B: Mueslie with extra sultanas
L: Spinach, sweetcorn and cheese omelette. Raspberries with Greek yoghurt
D: Salad with toasted goats cheese - in the salad was watercress, shredded cabbage, onion, mushroom, left over sweetcorn, pickled beetroot and cherry tomatoes. Toffee fudge icecream with HM toffee sauce.
Snack : I've just had a tiny portion of rice pudding - comfort food.

Exercise: 9km run/walk this morning - 4 minutes of running and 1 of walking repeated 14 times. Walk to work and back this afternoon.

Morning all :). Am at home today so nothing can go wrong (can it?!), it's been very up and down, foodwise, these past few days so need to get back to normal.

    B - Spicy fruity porridge
D - salmon pasta bake. Apple
T - 3 crackerbread spread with ff yogurt, usual toppings
    S - Melon, nectarine, pear
E - 15 mins this morning, am wearing my new trainers which are quite scary, they tend to throw me off balance so walking is very precarious! I'm assured I'll get used to them in a week or so, I do hope so. Will just have to percy vere.

No sun here yet but the washing is on the line and the lawnmower will appear later

    have a sunshiny day :)

I have these and am on my second pair. They do throw you off balance at first but you soon get used to them. When I first started wearing them my calves hurt so they must do something.

I can't say I noticed much change to the rest of me to be honest but I like them as I feel quite bouncy when walking in them as you sort of spring forward.
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

Thanks angelsmomma. DD who persuaded me to try them swears by them, she has lupus so can't weight-bear and says they're the most comfortable footwear she's ever had. I wore them for most of today and forgot I had them on after a while, and we're going to the gym tomorrow which will give them a proper trial :)

Yes, they're called ProTone and are said to exercise/tone feet/ankles/calves etc. Has anyone else tried them, and found them beneficial? (Or not?!)

    Hi Folks

I am sooooo loving this weather; at last I am getting on top of the gardening. Don’t know if its promoting much weight loss but all this bending is certainly working the “gluts” as my buttocks are aching :rotfl:

Meals today are beginning to be influenced by the sunshine
    B – Frozen Banana/Yoghurt/Smoothie thingy
    L – Egg, Lettuce & Tomato Sandwich
    D – Smoked Haddock Fishcake & a humungous salad.
Treat – Kir Royale – in the sunshine (well not so much royale, as its only cassis & white wine – no fizz unfortunately)

I wonder if I might seek your thoughts on a subject that after about 3 years I thought had been totally laid to rest. I don’t want to talk to my friends as they know people who know people IFKWIM. I apologise but it’s not related to weight loss or even MS, but I am having these negative thoughts and feelings which I either need to deal with - revenge/right a wrong/totally dismiss.

The situation relates to what was a very close friend – it's not the best friend doesn’t like new partner stuff, more the other way around – but she met a man through internet dating and very out of character (for her) moved in with him straight away and within the space of a year they sold up and moved to Spain. A few months later another friend and I went out to visit them and he was a total gent during that time.

However 6 months later I went on my own to visit them and things were massively different – she had lost all confidence in being able to undertake the simplest tasks without his aid or approval and the consumption of alcohol was in my mind out of control. He started drinking around 11.00am till he went to bed around 4.00pm, she was also drinking more than I expected and confided in me that she was miserable. One night, when he would have presumed I was in bed, I was in fact in the kitchen making a cuppa, I witnessed signs that he was physically abusing her. He then in his drunken stupor turned on me verbally, so I made arrangements to move to a hotel and left on the bus the next morning.

About 2 months later her parents did a “mercy dash” out to Spain to get her and bring her home battered, bruised and psychologically a mess. Needless to say she went back to him and I know it may be uncharitable but I couldn’t bring myself to support her in that decision and thought it best to stop all contact – I got the impression that I fuelled his temper because he couldn’t “control” me and my presence undermined his control of her.

But getting to my dilemma – I have heard recently the "story" that has gone around the small community we are both from is that he and I didn’t get on and he asked me to leave. At the time I found the whole situation very upsetting as I have never in my life been treated in such a manner. I then got angry and was all for getting my own back, but when I calmed down, for her sake, I thought it best just to distance myself and leave her to get on with it. Now that I’ve found out what has been said I’m getting angry again, not only with him but with her, especially as her mother told me that she was extremely upset and embarrassed at what happened when I visited.

Sorry for the really long post but this has been churning over in my mind for about a week – what would you do?
