Sorry people, been so busy with appointments ive been to exhausted to post.

wow you are all doing so well. Some of your lunches have inspired me, as mine get quite boring.

I cant bare to weigh myself at the moment as it was a bad week last week. I just hope i havent put on the 2lb that i lost.

    so today

    B: oats
    L: chicken sandwich
    D: cottage pie
S: um i only have oranges so that will be it.

I wanted to ask a question. How do you stick to your diet when you see family.
If someone has made a cake, i feel its rude to say no.

have a good day all :j

I eat cakes anyway. I just have a small piece though, and probably work it off the next day with extra exercise.
I don't believe in 'being on a diet' and denying myself certain foods. It's just learning to control myself and stop at one small piece of cake, or a couple of biscuits instead of the whole pack.

I agree. I can always work a piece of cake into my eating plan. Yesterday a friend made Apple Streusel Cake and it was yummy but I brought my piece home and had it for breakfast:T

I agree you have to still be able to enjoy life/social occasions but learn not to 'go mad' and get huge amounts :D

It was my friends birthday yesterday so i went to the meal out last night and had the most healthy starter they had, then what I fancied for my main. Later her mom got the waiter to bring out a homemade chocolate sponge cake  so i had a small piece

As I knew I was going out last night I was good yesterday plus did my housework with extra ummph to burn more calories :rotfl:

ahh thankyou all, Maybe thats where im going wrong.

I get so made at myself if i have a piece of cake as i think it ruins my diet.

the problem is when i do get down to the size i want, then i'm going to put all the weight back on by eating cake again.

    i need to change.

Dont deny yourself a treat but work it into your daily requirements. That way you wont feel deprived or go over-the-top when you have lost weight. This OS eating is not a diet it is a way of life that will continue when you have shred all the weight you want to. I have maintained over the winter months and although that was frustrating it showed me that the style of eating works for me x

I agree with Molly. You really have to change your mindset. The reason why so many people lose weight then regain it [or more] is because they think of it as 'going on a diet'. They lose weight then return to their previous, bad, eating habits.
Instead try looking at ways of adapting your diet, maybe changing your favourite recipes to contain fewer calories, eating smaller portions, only eating when hungry [rather than for comfort or boredom] and so on.
Personally I could quite happily carry on eating the way I do for the rest of my life. The only thing I have really given up is crisps and similar things as I was a real crisp addict. I don't even miss them now.

    Hi Folks

I haven’t posted for a day or so as I’ve been busy creating my photo wall – refurbished some old picture frames and found loads of old black & white family photos – so have been sorting through and copying the ones I wanted to include in the frames – very happy with the end result and they not only evoke a lot of happy memories but there are some great examples of the fashions from the 20’s right through to the 70’s

Unfortunately it must be that TOTM as I’ve been craving something sweet – fresh fruit just wasn’t hitting the spot – I have a heap of rhubarb to do something with and you know that scenario when you have a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the other both whispering thoughts in your ear – the conversation went like this
Devil – MAKE A RHUBARB CRUMBLE!!
    Angel – :naughty:
Devil – MAKE A RHUBARB PIE!!
    Angel – :naughty:

So because I have visitors coming to stay at the end of the month I started off a batch of rhubarb flavoured vodka (Rhubodka) and froze the rest as I’d prefer to save the extra calories till then :)

One thing in my favour I did manage to resist the temptation of the oven chips mentioned by someone because the OS part of me kicked in and I had some boiled new potatoes that needed to be used up. Trying to be OS and healthy - I’m off to draft up my weekly menu using what’s in the fridge/freezer.

    Mornin' all

The weekend did not go well ! Total pig out ! I bought a yoghurt maker from Lakeland though so I should start saving money on all the yoghurt I eat.

I'm working today so its easier to get back on track. The students are still here and we are open 24 hours so no Bank holiday for me ! I do get two days added to my annual leave though.

    Today
Breakfast : Grapes and kiwi, LF yoghurt

Lunch : Oatcakes and LF soft cheese, Sugar free jelly

Mid afternoon : Two jaffa cakes

Evening meal : HM sausage pie and LO veg.

Half a pint of skimmed milk for drinks.
