Sorry, just been too busy/stressed/fed up to post. Work is just hectic and I feel sick with anxiety all the time - just too much to do (doing 3 people's jobs just now :(), so I haven't had the energy to post, but am reading when I can.

I'm hearing this from a lot of people at the moment and yet there are so many people out of work and not working at all(who want to work). We have got something very wrong in this country just now.

sparrer - I've never thought of using the slow cooker in that way. Am definitely going to give it a try. Thanks

    I have lost 2lb :grin:again this week.

I weighed myself first thing this morning, but unfortunately I gave in to temptation when cooking DD breakfast, and had not one but two bacon butties. :embarasse

The old me would have given up on the diet for today and started again tomorrow or the day after or somewhen. But after reading this thread, I'm just going to carry on today regardless. OK so I made a mistake but no point in blowing the whole diet for one mistake.

Just a 1lb loss for me this week. I do weigh myself daily and what a huge variation there has been over the week - a few nights ago I was a full 6lb heavier than now! I have had a couple of quite large portions of rice and I am putting it down to that, which is a shame as I have a 5kg bag to get through. I suppose that will go soon enough if my son is back for a few days!

The steady 2lb/wk loss I had for the first couple of months seems to have become a bit more erratic of late but I am hopeful of more exercise once the weather is more settled. I'll be moving to an completely new area later this year and the first thing I will do will be to start swimming, do a few exercise classes and join some sort of fat club. This will kill two birds with one stone, as it were. I'll hopefully get to know a few people whilst trying to control some of the flab, but it's rather late in my case.

Good luck all. I think the most important thing about getting your weight under control is to get into the 'steady' frame of mind where you are determined to plod on, take the ups with the downs (literally!) and have faith that week by week, little by little, you'll reach a comfortable place both in terms of weight and also health.

    Plod, plod, plod!

    Morning Folks

I’m happy to report a 1lb loss for this week – I really am a bit like the tortoise, it seems to take me a couple of weeks to lose a whole one.

Living proof, I never weigh myself later in the day - it would just depress me to see the scales jump up 4lbs throughout the day :(

Thanks Daska – I do enjoy my smoothies and like to use frozen fruits like banana, blueberries, strawbs & rasps – making it more like frozen yoghurt – yummy. A friend let me borrow her juicer for a couple of weeks to try out to see if I liked it. Her one did produce a pulpy type juice which was quite nice and I had great fun experimenting with things like celery, beetroot, carrot and a variety of fruits but I found I was spending a fortune on produce for what really was a very small end product.

Hugs to those of you dealing with stressful work situations, I can totally relate with where you are at and how precious weekends and holidays become. The company I worked for let three of us go last year through voluntary redundancy/early retirement schemes and I have heard that this year they have employed eight new people because they didn’t have enough staff to manage the work and meet their targets.

Aaargh…..who mentioned oven chips :eek:, I am now craving some, so today’s plan will probably pan out like this:-
    B – Yoghurt & fruit
    L – Soup
D – Oven chips & something….not sure will check out the freezer

Well done to those who have lost & sts, hope everyone has a nice relaxing holiday weekend, fingers crossed for a bit of sun

Thanks Daska. Its only my tongue that gets sore and its only for a couple of hours afterwards so its not to bad.
I don't mind so much about the kiwi. I can take it or leave it but I loooove pineapple. Perhaps I'm just eating to much of it in one go !

I'm joining the 1lb crew! :T:T:T Slowly but surely seems the way for me!

It's taken me so long to get online and post because I've had a terrible morning at work, was so stressed because something blew up and the worst part was it was (partly) my fault...thankfully now everything has been sorted out and it turned out it wasn't my fault after all. God I hate those terrifying moments at work..:( Agree completely with everyone whose saying how bad it is at the moment workwise, I'm constantly scared of losing my job, and yet I'm lucky enough to have a job!

I think we all need one of these :grouphug:

Kiwisaver - don't be disheartened, that's exactly what happened to me when I started getting serious about exercise, it takes a while to kick in. Keep at it :)
    :)
