Going to the gym tonight too. I'm not motivated at the gym at the moment at all. Have been doing rowing machine, bike etc but find it so boring. Have been to a few classes but the times don't suit me very well.

Anyone any ideas of other things to do at the gym? xxx

Running is hard work but it's worth it! Once you get to the stage where you can run consistently for 30mins its a real buzz and you feel so much fitter.
    Have you tried it?
Also, try the stepper and cross trainer as you can do these in short bursts so it's not so boring and a bit varied.

    Morning all :)

Need2bethrifty thank you for that, you've just made my conscience expand! My lounge is desperate for a coat or two of paint, it's not be done for 5 years . My excuse is I'm still deciding what colours I want...

Don't worry about it I've got a couple of years on you...I moved in here in 2004 , the previous occupants must have got a job lot of off-white paint and went round the WHOLE house with it.

Me - I love a bit of colour and I've been gradually working my way round the house brightening and warming things up...my excuses were endless, working full time as well as studying as well as a frail elderly parent to help care for....but most of all until now it was lack of motivation..very early retirement has given me a new lease of life :j

    Food today:
breakfast - fruit and fibre with semi-skimmed milk - 169 cals
lunch - banana, greek yogurt with honey, strawberries and raspberries - 275 cals
    snack - salt and vinegar sticks (105) 2 chocolate digestives (170) - 275 cals
tea - spinach and ricotta pasta with sauce - 459 cals
    Total: 1,178 cals

So, I strayed slightly off plan today - I didn't intend to have 2 chocolate biscuits but I was in a meeting and they were offered with a cuppa so I had them. Probably shouldn't, but trying not to stress out too much as my calories for the day are pretty good in total. I am trying to stay over 1,200 calories each day, so I've got near that so that's good.

I could focus a bit more on getting more veg into my diet... :o

    Morning Everyone,

Well yesterday didn’t turn out as planned & I thought I was being sooooo organised, as Rabbie Burns wrote – the best-laid schemes o’ mice an men gang aft agley.

My apologies to all you lovers/advocates of Slow Cookers, but after trying it for a few different meals IMO its pants and the food just doesn’t taste the same. I made the stock overnight as well as soaking the lentils etc which was fine and put the soup on about 8.30am. Had to dash out mid-morning so didn’t get the salad lunch I had planned and just ate fruit on route, got back at 6.00pm absolutely ravenous only to find that the soup was no near ready – split peas like bullets and the veg half cooked – 9hrs on high, what’s that all about . Ended up putting it on the stove for another couple of hours and had my chicken salad sandwich for tea. So I’m afraid the SC will be going and I’ll get something more useful - like a juicer - to fill the space in the cupboard.

Anyway rant over, today I’ll be back to good old-fashioned methods of cooking – FIRE (gas cooker)
    B - Yoghurt & stewed rhubarb
L – Soup, will force myself to eat it
    D – Chipotle Chicken

    Mornin' all

Yesterday went to plan. I love my slow cooker. The chinese belly pork I had yesterday was done in it. In fact my son had a sticker made for my car saying 'My other car's a slow cooker ' !!
I have to say I've never made soup in it though.

    Today
Breakfast : Kiwi fruit and grapes, LF plain yoghurt

Lunch : Rice cakes and LF soft cheese with mango chutney, Sugar free jelly

Mid afternoon : Two jaffa cakes

Evening meal : HM chilli with rice

Plus half a pint of skimmed milk for drinks

Do you still use the machines or just bodyweight, weights, etc.?
What sort of things have you done? I need some motivation in the gym these days...:undecided

Still enjoy running but it's too hard going on my knees to do it every day. Yesterday I did 30mins on the bike and 15mins on the stepper and that was boring as. I just need to do a lot of cardio as I build muscle easily; it's my legs and bum area that are the problem - I have a lot of fat to burn there!

    Yesterday:
    B: Banana, coffee
L: HM veg soup, 1 ryvita
D: Steak with boiled pots and carrots
S: Handful of mixed nuts, 2 x mini rosemary & salt foccacia
    :)
