You could have some nice veggies with the scampi and not help yourself to the chips. And have some fruit with only one scoop of ice-cream. Then you could be too full for cake, and have a wee slice tomorrow.

That was really good advice, thanks. Unfortunately I didn't manage to resist the chips, fresh fried were just toooo tempting when I had to make them, but the veggies limited my portion size ~ and I didn't have :A the ice cream.live_within_ma_means wrote: »Newbie alert can you just start posting in this thread? I just started last week and everyone has been really friendly. There has been some really useful advice too.

My WI was a disapointing 2lb would have been more but for yesterday. I was hoping for a better second week. Would have been nice if the number at the front had changed. Still 2lb is 2lb and if I managed that every week it would be 104lb in a year: which would be 7 stone 6lb!!!! Hi everyone
Thanks for all the hugs a messages I really needed them the last few days. My gran is off the ventilator now but is still in incentive care. Apparently she's very grumpy which is a good sign that she's starting to recover!
Ragz - please could you put me down for 2lb off.
Going to put in a couple of extra session at the gym I think. I've been pretty bad with food choices the last couple of days and I'm worried that they just haven't caught up with me and the scales! Have taken a note of how many I've been over and going to try and burn some of them off with a good session at the gym tonight. It's such a relief to see the numbers going down, I'm not sure I can cope right now with them going back up again!!
Hope you all have a good day and good weigh ins

Sealed Pot Challenge #1505
'you wouldn't worry about what people think, if you realised how seldom they do'0 -
Tink - glad to hear the good news about your gran!
Has anyone noticed their hunger has started to wane a little since starting the challenge?
I went out for dinner last night at an Italian restaurant and had tagliatelle with salmon, parsley, cream, and wine  (God it was amazing even though it was unhealthy). Normally I'd crave a starter as well, and moon over the dessert menu, but I was absolutely stuffed. Could barely walk 15mins back to the tube to get home.
My appetite really is reducing, which is great, as I'm normally effing greedy and always want more food!:rotfl:0 -
Morning everyone, and well done to all those reporting losses. As I reported my starting weight yesterday I'm not going to weigh again until next week.
savesummore - frozen pollock suggestion: put some sweetcorn in an oven dish, add sliced tomato (fresh or tinned), put the pollock on top and sprinkle over some grated cheese. Bake for about 20 minutes, depending on whether you defrost the fish first. You could ring the changes with the veg to suit what you have in the fridge.
Would it be worth exploring other things on offer at the university sports building? Its a good chance to learn something new. When I was a student I tried squash, tennis, weight training, life saving, and improved my badminton. I found getting a regular badminton or squash session once a week made me exercise regularly as I didn't want to let my partner down. The beginners squash ladder was also a good way of making new friends who studied different subjects and I wouldn't have met otherwise.
Also, if your university has a sports science department they're always looking for people to be guinea pigs in research projects. Free fitness advice, and regular appointments are very good for motivation
Robson - I would keep going with the fruit. Otherwise you'll probably be tempted by other higher calorie sweet alternatives.
Food so far today 1 x yoghurt, and part way through my first coffeeRoast beef for dinner, but still to decide what to have with it and lunch is currently an unplanned mystery :rotfl:
Happy Friday everyone

I've just felt really demotivated this week. Not just exercise-wise but also in terms of revision. I'm starting to feel better now so I'll go for a jog tomorrow morning.
Today's meals:
Breakfast: homemade muesli with yoghurt and honey
Lunch: jacket potato with tuna and sweet corn
Dinner: will be a mushroom and pepper liver stir fry0 -

Afternoon all,
I have STS this week.
No surprise there as I just haven't been in the mood to organise my meals properly and have ended up eating whatever is to hand, and filling up on rubbish! So for next week I have done a list of meals and shopped online for it (with a money off coupon) so I can stay away from the supermarket!Summer weightloss challenge
