Morning all,
It’s a lovely sunny morning at the moment but I think there is more snow coming our way this week. I’m just about to have a very quick tidy around before getting out the painting gear…again.. and get stuck in with that.
Over the weekend I read in a magazine that flaxseed (though not conclusive) is supposed to help with menopausal hot flushes, but is also a very good source of protein, so I thought that I would give it a go and managed to get some in sainsbugs. I know it may not be a good idea to have it along with rhubarb because of the high fibre/laxative effect  – I may regret it but I need to try something to deal with my hot flushes :rotfl:
Menu for the day =
B – Yoghurt, stewed rhubarb, sprinkle of flaxseed
L – Sweet potato & chilli soup, crackers
D – L/O Mince Pie, VegJan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54
Aug - Grocery spends = £42.190 -
Morning lovely people
My weekend wasn't too bad - although I did lapse by having a bag of mini eggs (small, thank goodness), a couple of seashell chocolates, and a bag of lime and mango crisps (an Approved Food concoction!)
The rest of my eating was good, although I didn't do enough exercise, apart from the gym on Friday night. Back in the gym after work today, hope I can keep it up all week!:T
Today:
B: Small banana
L: HM chickpea salad with garlic, parsley, coriander, sun dried toms, feta, sweetcorn, spring onion, and salad leaves.Pasta with broccoli, chilli oil and garlic.
S: Apple, almonds, cottage cheese (when I run in from the gym, famished), sliced red pepper.0 -
jayII, LavenderBees & magical - I wonder if that's a female thing. We are always so much more aware of what food is "naughty", and should be punishable, what we should feel guilty for eating, knowing we should repress our urges for unhealthy food, that when we do lapse and have a junk food binge we go nuts and literally can't stop! I could eat like a horse if I wanted.0

Hi all
Sorry, I've been MIA for a while and I'm afraid it's gone badly wrong over the hols.
I daren't actually weigh myself just yet but if it's ok with RAGZ. I'll wait a few days of being good then declare my goal for the challenge. (it will be whatever it takes to get me to 11st)
Hope you are all doing well, I'm sure it's better than me
I'm back to it TODAY!,- prior planning prevents poor performance!
May Grocery challenge £150 136/1500 -

Hun, you're not the only one! I have had to up my target to 9lbs (also to get me to 11 stone) as when I weighed on Friday (I wasn't going to, but did in the end) I was another 2lb up! At least if I up my target I will probably have lost some by Friday!
Weekend in the caravan was fabulous, really stress free (apart from initially having to get FIL to tow the van to the site for us because my car wouldn't do the lights on it!) but I did eat a lot and have a few drinks.
Really ready to behave myself this week and looking forward to swimming tonight, it's been a fortnight since I went!
Angelsmamma - welcome to the thread! If you'd like to join the challenge let me know.
Savesummore - you are so right about the sugar, I really wish I could bring myself to cut down that dramatically but it never lasts
The dragon - Well done on that 4lb loss :T
Slowlyfading - Welcome back! Glad the wedding day went well.June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Ragz, I would like to join the challenge, thank you. I need to lose 42lbs but 1 stone would be a good start for me.
Need2bthrifty, have you tried black cohosh, I used it for 6 months and it did help. There are reports that long term use is bad for you so maybe read up on it first if you are going to try it. Holland and Barrat sell it.Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -
