Hello everyone. Can I join? I have never really done any serious weightwatching and am quite old style anyway.
My doctor has said I need to lose weight as my cholesterol and blood pressure are so high I need medication for it (liver function is also not good).
She has agreed to give me a month to lose weight on a low fat diet and if I do she will give me another 2 months before testing me again.
So here goes it not just about being uncomfortable with my weight I have to lose it.
I weigh 12 stone 2 lbs (77kg) and am only 5 foot. I was so shocked as full term pregnant with my son (11 years ago) I was only 64kgLife is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.0 -
Hi all lovely day up here just finished work so can enjoy it for a change. Yesterday went a bit pear shaped, I had terrible cravings to munch so I gave in. I think it may be TOTM.
B: Nothing
L: bridieLO venison, carrots and new pots. Didnt eat much.
S: 6 squares white choc, 4 wine gums, choc heart, most of a large bag of kettles crisps and 2 lagers.
E: Bodypump
MUST do better tomorrow."Sometimes life sucks....but the alternative is unacceptable."0 -
I went for a run this morning (2.45 miles).
I was sneaky and took a measurement of my waist and hips, they are now 31 inches and 41 inches respectively. I tried on a paiir of size 14 jeans I bought in the boxing days sales today and they fit. I don't think I've ever been a size 14 but I'm really pleased with this and I've been on high all day.
Food:
Breakfast: muesli, yoghurt and honey
Lunch: rice and a homemade curry (well it's a jar sauce)
Dinner: will probably an omelette with peppers, mushrooms and some cheese.0 -
Hi everyone :hello:
Does anyone else really struggle at the weekend?
Im good all day friday, but as friday is my weigh in day plus its FRIDAY i tend to have a takeaway for tea.
Then I like to 'enjoy' Saturday so will have a choc or glass of wine (or both :rotfl:) I have been digging the garden for an hour though today so according to MFP im 150 kcals over if my day stays like this:
B: 2 HM wholemeal bread, scrap of butter, two boiled eggs
S: 1 Mcvities choc biscuit, 1 small piece (the last bit) of easter egg shell
L: Tom & basil soup 1/2 carton 1 orange
T: Fillet steak, jacket tata, scrap of butter, salad
Evening S: Glass of red wine, mini magnum ice cream
I dont think thats too bad for a treat day but dont know if im fooling myself- please feel free to offer any advice/reality check!!

Hi angelsmomma, welcome :hello:. I'm also 5 feet tall and was 12st 2lb when I started my weight loss plan (never say diet, it puts me off and makes people sniffy, like I'm not going to stick to it). My method is, like yours, to lower fat intake and take it slowly. Losing xlbs a week is fine for some but I know I can't keep it off if I'm too strict with myself. It's taken me 16 months but am 9st 7lb at the mo, with about another 12/14lb to go. Just keep coming back and posting your daily menu's, it really does help. Good luck
savesummore I often have a weekly day off depending which day I'm going out. Tomorrow I'm out to dinner so will eat what I like and maybe have pud without any guilt feelings. I loosely follow Paul McK, he says eat what you like but stop when you feel comfortably full. Also leave a little food on your plate, even just a teaspoonful, to break the 'must clear my plate as I was brought up to do' habit. I think training myself not to feel guilty helps, now I eat what I want and I enjoy it. I don't buy biscuits, crisps etc any more, I can go through a carrier bag of fruit a week though, all by myself0 -
Afternoon All
Like Sparrer, Angelsmomma, I too am only 5 foot tall and I weighed12st 7lb at my heaviest (Jan 2011). I'm down to 9st 7lb at present too and am aiming to lose another 14lb.
B/L: 2 egg omelette filled with sauteed butternut squash, mushrooms, garlic and onion.
T: 3 ryvitas with cream cheese and cherry tomatoes, funsize banana
Treats: I have plenty of calories left for a treat but haven't decided what to have yet.
Exercise: 30 minutes exercise DVD. 2 miles of walking.
Must dash, work in 15 minutes.

Thanks Sparrer- I dont want to think of this as a 'diet' as ive done too many of those- been really strict for 3 months lost a stone/ stone as a half and the put it all back on
. So am trying to change my eating habits for good.
But as usual im in a heck of a rush to be changed so think I should try and calm down and see this as a long term plan rather than a raceand enjoy my odd treats!!
I have recently 'found' fat free greek yogurt- this is lovely and really creamy-nice on strawberries (instead of actual cream:eek:)

evening all
Back from our friend's wedding, amazing weather despite the forecasts, so Friday 13th was lucky for them after all!
Today's food was a bit random, breakfast at the hotel and then we stopped at Bicester Village on the way back and had lunch at Carluccios.
Breakfast: pineapple and melon, 1 slice toast and jam, cooked breakfast items (1 sausage, 1 rasher bacon, 1 bubble/squeak croquette, 1 spoon beans), glass pineapple juice
Lunch: foccacia w/ cheese (shared with DH), spinach and ricotta raviloli (ate 2/3rds), few bits from DH's mixed seafood main, 1/2 portion of sauted spinach.
Afternoon: 1/2 packet strawberry laces, grapes, babybel
Dinner: 2 slices cheese on toast, grapes.
Been struggling a bit with morning sickness, but not every day, so it's not too bad.
Day of housework tomorrow before going back to work on Monday, I hate the last day of holidays!
Someone was asking about coconut milk (sorry can't remember who!) - we use the light variety, and can't really taste the difference, although it's more likely to split. Calories seem reasonable when I've entered meals onto MFP.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
LittleMoog that breakfast sounds yummy, except for the b/b, you can keep those. Wish I liked them cos they're a great source of just about everything but if I even smell them it makes me heave. And it's not me who's pregnant!
Out today so will report later on what the restaurant had to offer, no doubt all tasty as it's Italian. Love Med food
Have a great day, hope the sun shines on everybody0
