    Mornin' all

Yesterday went to plan except for the exercise. Didn't do any ! I baked in the evening but managed not to scoff any. Fortunately my 6'7" DS lives with me so he soon polishes it all off. He's been sensitive to additives since he was a child so I've always baked as then I know whats in it.

    So today

Breakfast : Fruit salad ( Grapes, slice of pineapple, small pear) lf plain yoghurt

Lunch : HM pea and mint soup, sugar-free jelly

Mid afternoon : Two Rich Tea biscuits

Evening meal : Chilli chicken pittas

Mid evening : Two Jaffa cakes

Plus half a pint of skimmed milk for drinks

Exercise : I've got to get a whole load of furniture downstairs this evening but I'm not sure that counts !

I managed to pick up two lf cookery books in a charity shop the other day so I might try some of the baking recipes in them and I'll report back.

Dragoncry - sorry to hear about cuts at OH's work. Hope you can get your appetite back in balance - not eating is not good, you need to keep your strength up when times are challenging.

russetred - can I ask about your exercise classes please? My gym offers the same ones. I'm trying to find something gentle, that doesn't use the stomach muscles too much, to ease me into exercise after my op. Would body balance be suitable? Or can you suggest anything else?
    Morning,

Oooh..Oooh.. wish it was WI today, the 1lb that has been eluding me for weeks has finally shifted

    :j Well done. Great result.

For the new challenge I need to start listing my food so here goes:

    Yesterday
Brunch - toasted bagel with butter
Late lunch - Scotch broth soup, two small pieces of quiche, three baby plum tomatoes
    Dinner - pizza takeaway :o Yum :D

    Today
Breakfast - fig yoghurt, coffee with s/s milk
Snack four mini Easter eggs - I promise they were really small :)

Other meals yet to be decided, but dinner probably using crayfish - pack from Lidl - a favourite treat.

Exercise - either walk to post office, or bottle bashing at recycling point - would need to drive there so would miss out on walk - not enough energy yet to do both, but I'm working on it.

Have a good day everyone :)

    Morning all :)

Had a sneak wi this morning, have only put on .2lb. Seems Italian food is good for me ;). Usually have the scales switched to record just st and lb but wanted to see exactly how much I'd put on. Can't say I'm disappointed with my gain :D, just hope it doesn't go up any more between now and tomorrow!

LittleMoog my DD and DSiL got married on Friday 13th, 13 years ago, they chose it because no-one else wanted to have that day so they had the pick of times, etc. :)

Lauzt have you tried adding dried fruit and a little cinnamon to porridge? I don't like it but done this way it's really tasty, and you don't need sugar as the fruit sweetens it. Wish I could remember who told me about it so I could refer to them if I pass this tip on :(

    B - spicy, fruity porridge
    D - turkey casserole. Mango
T - 2 slices WW Danish spread w/ff yogurt, slice lean beef, hint of horseradish.
Snacks toasted hc bun w/scrape lf clover, apple, melon, banana
Exercise - 3x10min sessions through the day. Discovered I can manage more if I do less at a time, if that makes sense.

Does anyone have any exercises for the back? Mine still needs to lose some weight, you can see where my bra is under my jumpers and it's not pretty!

Hope it's sunny where you are :)

    Morning all.

I am trying to be better with breakfast. I really struggle during the week as I never want to eat before I leave for work, as it's too early for me, so need to have something quick I can eat when I get to work. I usually have a cereal bar and a glass of smoothie but have been finding myself snacking more throughout the day so tried porridge today. Really wasn't impressed. I forced down half of it but couldn't manage the rest. Not for me. So back to the drawing board for breakfast!

Hi have you tried a small roll with ham or low fat cheese spread or just some fruit like a banana? Or how about cold toast brought in from home? I know thats probably not for everyone but I love cold toast!! :p

I usually go to college after work on a Thursday but as its half term we are off so im going to use the time to go swimming instead :T (clapping myself lol)

A quick tip that I do- if i want a cheese sandwich i first spread low fat cheese spread on the bread then grate small amount of cheese say 20g and in the same pot grate half a carrot- mix these together and put on your bread with salad. I find it tastey plus it 'bulks' out the chesse

I make up a tub each night with my yoghurt, muesli and fruit to take to work with me. I have found this fills me up and I am enjoying it far more than the highly calorific muesli/nut bars I used to have. If I feel extra hungry I might just add a bit more fruit. Fruit options depends on what I have; sometimes roasted stone fruits, or a handful of frozen raspberries, tinned peaches or apricots in juice.

I wasn't that inspired by sawdusty Alpen style mueslis in the past but have played around with different mueslis and preference for me is to get a cheapish toasted / granola type which is mostly oats and then pimp it up a bit by adding some extras, such as sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds, chia, flaxseed, dried cranberries and sultanas.

Back to the gym tonight. Dreading it but ready for getting back into it. Have a great day everyone xxx

I feel you - I'm rejoining tomorrow and dreading it! I just know I'll be pathetic at running for the next 2 weeks until I build up my endurance again. Has to be done though.

Hi rosetta! Bodybalance is a mix of Tai chi, yoga and pilates. The class starts with gentle tai chi stretches then moves on to a balance track. Basically you try to balance on one leg and this strengthens your core muscles around the middle. Then it moves on to lengthening the muscles in your legs and around your back. It does include gentle sit up exercises based on pilates movements which you may find harder. I would discuss this with your instructor first if i were you. What I like about it is it isnt competitive we are all completely different in what we can and cannot do. It's more about gaining in strength and flexibility up to your own limit with a nice relaxing chill out at the end. HTH.

Yesterday was my DS day out so Burgerking and cinema! To be fair we only go once or twice a year so enjoyed the experience though I was seriously stuffed.

    B: benefit bar red berry
L: BK XL bacon c burger and chips, diet coke.
    T: nothing
S: handful toffee popcorn, 2 pieces dark choc egg.

Feeling a bit bloated today after that but did 2 classes this morning and back on the wagon.

I am eating too much again. Not just too much food but too many snacks and other rubbish.

Came on to confess... but now I want a cheese and carrot sandwich!
